“Georges is your ex!” Victor exclaims. “But you told me you weren’t sleeping with him!” he added in an accusatory tone that perhaps I didn’t like. “I said I’m not sleeping with him now, not that I’ve never done that,” I fumed. Georges, meanwhile, had just spotted us and was walking towards us, a smile on his face. Something told me that his presence here wasn’t quite a coincidence. “Danielle! I found you!” he shouted when he reached us. “Hi,” he said to Victor. They shook hands, but there was no warmth in the gesture.
