Chapter 10

Ren’s POV

I see the lovebirds holding hands walking up our pathway. They enter the house I notice they are baring each other’s mark. They don’t realize it yet but they just both unlocked his powers. He just needs to learn how to harness them. I set up the dinner table for the 2 love birds.

I watch them over the next few hours. Every time they touch their spark made them jump. It’s a very strong bond. They slowly let go of their shyness and by then end of the night they are snuggling up on the couch watching tv. I was about to clean up when Johnson came into the kitchen to make popcorn.

“Ren go sit down I’m making lemonade and popcorn. I’ll be sure to clean up for you after you made us lasagna.” Said Johnson

Thoughtful as ever that young man is,”Johnson you are always so good to me. Go be with your mate. I’m tired anyways so you dedicate clean up.” I walk over to him and kiss his forehead “You be good to her. She’s my kin and I will hurt you for her. Not kill you so our your eyes back in your head. But severely wound you”

Johnson’s eyes were still wide but he did manage to chuckle.”Okay.. okay.. point taken.” With his arms up in defense, then he hugged me, “Thank you for bringing my mate to me”

I hugged him back and said my good nights to Kiera and went straight to bed.

Next morning…

Johnson’s POV

I was framing of my mate and I living happy marriage celebrating on a beautiful island. I can’t get over her very revealing bathing suit. “I’m so glad we took our honeymoon now this war is over. We can enjoy being married” she walks sultry to me and then she said,” Johnson’s wake up do you hear that alarm.?”

INTRUDER ALERT. INTRUDER ALERT… I woke up to all the alarms going off. I got dressed in two seconds and grabbed my escape bag. I then headed to the part of the house that has both my mate and ward in. I was nervous and anxious to get to them. I could hear trucks basking through the gate. I hear some of them get hit with the flower darts and they immediately hit the ground. Heavy footsteps leads me to believe it might be a tactical unit. I hear another group chanting trying to break the main spell surround the house.

I find Aunt Ren in Kiera’s room. Ren is handing Kiera a bag similar to mine and adding things to it.” Listen to me Kiera your his protector now. Teach him how to live in a Wolfpack world. Today is my final day and you will take over my Johnson from now on.”

What am I hearing? Did Ren say she is done or dead after today. I ran to her side. Looked deeply into her eyes. Searching for the truth.” Please don’t say that. I need you…”

She looks at me and then sighs.” Sweety. I’m dying. I have only months left. But at least today it’s on my terms. Saving the people I love dearly.” She grabs my face.”Listen carefully go to your mates pack. You completed your mating so soon your powers will reveal themselves. Kiera will be able to share your power. Read the books. I’m going to kill everyone on my land who dare attack us”

I look to my mate whose crying and then back to my ward.” No… No..th..this can’t be.” I’m freaking out she’s the only mother I’ve ever known.”Ren please let there be another way!”

“There isn’t Johnson be smart and stop trying to take control. Go to the garage and head to your mates pack. I’m doing this and not taking a no as an answer from you. I love you as if you were my own child. But you must survive. You need more time for your powers to expand. Then and only then will you be ready to avenge your parents.”

Kiera grabs my shoulders she squeezes it and pulls me to stand back up. She kneels down and hugs Ren. “I promise to protect him with my life. Thank you for my mate. For watching over him I’ll be forever grateful to you for that.”

She stands eyes full of tears. She looks at me with a fire in her eyes.”Mate” I heard both Kiera and Aurora speaking together.”We must go so Ren can do what she has to do”

I allow my mate to pull me out of the room. We walk down the hall. She pushes open the door leading to a secret passage.

“Kiera what do I do?” I couldn’t help but feel so helpless

“Live my mate. Live! And then we will make them all pay” Kiera said.

King was loving how she sounded and looked right now. Okay that made sense to me. I look at her and see the future. My path is taking me this way but I will definitely get revenge for you Ren. We walk thru the passage and push another door leading us the garage. We load up the jeep and push the button under the steering wheel. The wall suddenly dropped to reveal a lower level. I push the gas and take off.

I look to my mate who is crying in her sweater. She looks up and notices me watching her. She squeezes my shoulder as I’m driving.”I have to call my dad so he knows we are coming”

An hour and half later we enter into Blood Moon Pack territory. I didn’t stop I just floored it inward. Some of the wolves followed the Jeep. I was driving like the devil was still on my tail. After what I just witnessed I need to just relax. It’s been a very long day.
