The Passion
Today he had turned sixty. All of his colleagues, fans and especially his superstar students celebrated his sixtieth birthday with great fanfare. His students gave him the biggest gift of his life on his this birthday by creating history. He was really happy today. He celebrated his birthday and their victory with them earlier and now he was standing in his office alone, looking out of the window.
Today he had fulfilled his promise to himself and to a loved one which he made forty years ago. Indeed the long journey of forty years has finally come to an end today. All the sufferings he had to endure in this journey, now all those sufferings were cured.
Today, while he was very dedicated, he was also feeling sad, thinking about those with whom he had dreamed of making wrestling a global sport in Pakistan.
Taking a light puff of a cigar in his fingers, he plunged into the past.
---------------
FORTY YEARS AGO
"Sahir, Sahir, Sahir....," Everyone was chanting his name around the ring. And he was beating his opponent badly in the ring. People's chant is always filled with positive energy in his body.
"And here Sahir has completely dominated his rival. Giving his enemy a chance and then preying on him is a trick that always helps him outwit his opponent," The commentator made his comment out loud.
"This is exactly the reason why Sahir has not even lost his match yet. And now it seems that defeating Sahir is not difficult but impossible," Another commentator also confirmed his colleague's point.
Meanwhile, in the ring, Sahir hit his last move *the devastating spear* and won the match by pinning his opponent.
"And the winner of today's match has always been Sahir. Indeed, This 20-year-old young guy, who dusts the enemy in every match he has, has the potential to go far in his career," The first commentator heaped praises on Sahir for his win.
"Exactly, and you can see how people have gone crazy for his wrestling style. At this point, if he is being called the king of people's hearts, it will not be wrong at all," The other commentator echoed this.
"At the end of this main event, our show time also ended. See you next week. Take care of yourselves all. Good Bye..., " The commentators gave farewell remarks, rose from their chairs and walked out of the arena.
---------------
Wrestling was his passion. He spent his childhood watching wrestlers like Andre The Giant, Dusty Rhodes, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. He was born in America. His parents were from Pakistan and shifted to America before his birth. Growing up in an open environment like America, Sahir dreamed of making his career in the world of wrestling since his childhood. That is why from the age of fifteen he started playing wrestling matches on different wrestling independent circuits. He used to win every match he was a part of with his unique powerhouse style. His style was so captivating, once any person saw him performing in a wrestling ring, he would not miss any of his upcoming matches. This was the reason why in a very short time, his popularity was all over the world of wrestling.
His father had a successful business on his own. Due to this, he was considered among the richest people. Initially, he wanted to make Sahir a part of his business, but later, seeing his passion for wrestling, he fully supported him in realizing his dreams.
---------------
Apart from his parents, two other people were very important in his life, one was his love Faryal and the other was his best friend Uzair.
He met Faryal in school. She was his classmate and also belonged to Pakistan. If one meets a resident of one's own country in another country, they become friends with each other very easily.
He was always a lonely boy, so he had no friends at school. Faryal herself extended her hand of friendship towards him. Whom he rejected her at first, but later her good habits made him her lover.
The story of the beginning of his friendship with Uzair was very special. At the age of eight, he was attacked by a pit bull when he entered a no-entry area while riding his bicycle. The sudden attack knocked him unconscious. Due to fear, he could not even move from his place. The dog had pounced on him badly. Before the dog could tear him apart, a child about his age came running and tried to get the dog away from him. The dog attacked the other child also. Seeing his saviour in danger, he tried to control his senses and tried to get the dog away from the other child. In the meantime, the dog's owner also reached the spot after hearing the noise and quickly took the dog away from them. But in their rescue, both of them were injured a lot. The owner immediately rushed them to the hospital and informed their parents after getting their bodies bandaged.
Since it was a no-entry area and there was a signboard warning against dangerous dog breeds, no legal action could be taken against the owner of the dog. But the owner of the dog was a good man. He not only apologised to the parents of the two but also promised to implement more precautions to prevent children from entering the no-entry area.
---------------
"Why did you save my life?" Sahir asked the boy.
"Because it was my duty to save you," He replied.
"What? Your duty? How was it your duty to save a stranger like me from a wild dog?" Sahir was surprised to hear his answer.
"My mother says that it's our moral duty to help others in their difficult time because a real person is the one who helps others in trouble," He said innocently.
"Even if you risk your life for helping others?," Sahir asked more surprisingly.
"What life? Life has to end one day or the other, If we have to die, we will surely die sitting in the comfort but if our life is not ended yet, we will surely survive in the storm" He looked into Sahir's eyes and replied.
Sahir kept silent and started looking ahead.
Both of them were sitting in the lobby of the hospital at that time. Bandages were done on different parts of their bodies.
"If someone else had been there in my place, would you have tried to save his life too?" After staring at the front door for a while, Sahir asked without turning his face towards him.
"Of course! Because it is said that the one who saves the life of a single person is as if he saved the life of all humanity," He replied with a smile.
"Hmm..., What is your name?," He asked.
"My name is Uzair," He told me.
"How old are you?" Sahir asked again.
"Eight years old," Uzair told again.
"Do you know you talk much bigger than your age?" Sahir tried to add to his knowledge.
"Yes, I know," But he already knew.
"Hmm..., I like your personality," Sahir said.
"Almost every person liked my personality who ever met me in my life," Uzair said.
"By the way, I like your attitude," This time Uzair said first.
"Almost every person liked my attitude who ever met me in my life," Sahir said in the kind.
"Hahaha, good one," Uzair laughed at his style.
"I don't have any friends," Sahir made an innocent look and said.
"I can be," Uzair smiled and said.
"Really?" Sahir got excited.
"Yes... It will be my absolute pleasure to have a friend like you...," Uzair still smiled.
"Won't you ask my name?" Sahir got curious.
"I know about your name, Mr Sahir," Uzair made him more curious.
"How do you know?" He wanted to quench his curiosity.
"A few moments ago, your father told your name to the Doctor," He satisfied his curiosity.
"Hmm...," Sahir remained silent.
The two looked into each other's eyes for a moment and then laughed together.
---------------
Friendship with Uzair had changed the course of his life. Earlier he lived only for himself, but now Uzair taught him to live for others as well as for himself.
Both of them spent their childhood together and started boyhood together.
Sahir's life now revolved only around his parents, Faryal and Uzair. Because of him, Faryal and Uzair also became very good friends. Now the three of them had formed a group in which there was no room for a fourth one.
They all also started high school together. Going to school together in the morning and returning to the wrestling training centre altogether had become their daily routine.
Sahir was very fond of wrestling, and because of this, Uzair also became very interested in the world of wrestling. Just to spend more time with both of them, Faryal also enrolled in a wrestling school. But later she also started taking interest in women's wrestling. Thus, the three had formed a stable in the wrestling school, which they named *The OverTakers*.
-----------------
After completing their training, they used to perform in various wrestling circles. Their group *The OverTakers* was becoming quite popular in local circles. Due to his obsession with wrestling, Sahir had far surpassed the other two in one on one matches and his name in the local wrestling world had also become quite popular.
When a person becomes successful, not only does the number of his fans increase but the number of his haters also increases. It was for this reason that ever since Sahir's name started buzzing in the local wrestling circles, he started receiving death threats to quit wrestling.
Today he had a great match at the *Real Talent Club* against a very powerful wrestler, Kamoha, which everyone was very excited about. Kamora was undefeated in his nearly twenty-year wrestling career. Many wrestlers entered the ring dreaming of defeating Kamoha, but none could defeat him. Sahir had of course been an unbeaten player for the last five years, but still Kamoha had more experience than his age. So Sahir defeating Kamoha seemed like a crazy dream to most people.
---------------
At eight o'clock in the night, Sahir entered the field against Kamoha. The main reason Kamoha always won was because of his stable, who was always at his ringside in his matches. Whenever his group mates saw Kamoha getting lighter, they somehow diverted the referee's attention and played a cheap shot at Kamoha's opponent. This would demoralise the opponent and at that moment Kamoha would not waste any time to use his finishing submissive move *the coquina clutch* and force the opponent to tap out.
Uzair also had an idea of Kamoha and his group, so he decided to stay at Sahir's corner around the ringside so that if Kamoha's group played any tricks, he could keep Sahir safe.
The match had started. Both Kamoha and Sahir were staring at each other in the ring. A lot of people had come to watch their match. The commentators had also taken their seats and were busy commenting loudly.
"Guys, so today's main event match is very special in the history of our club. Two undefeated fighters take to the ring today. Let's see who manages to break whose streak," The first commentator started the commentary.
"O Come on, It is quite clear that Kamoha will be the winner of the day. Sahir is nothing compared to his strength and experience. Even standing in the ring with Kamoha is a great honour for Sahir. Sahir is not enough to defeat Kamoha," Another commentator, who seemed to be a huge fan of Kamoha, chimed in.
"There is no doubt that Kamoha's power is much greater than Sahir's but you cannot ignore Sahir's moveset and his passion to make his name in the world of wrestling. I hope his passion will play an important role to make him the winner of the match," The first commenter counted Sahir's plus points.
*OK let's see, who will remain undefeated today," said the other.
The referee checked both wrestlers and signalled for the initial bell. The bell rang. Sahir extended his hand for a handshake which Kamoha rejected with great contempt. Sahir turned his face and smiled slightly. That little respect he had for Kamoha was also gone.
Kamoha came close to Sahir and raised his hand to his head to make fun of Sahir's smaller size compared to him. Sahir shook his head and put his hands on his chest and pushed him back hard. Sahir's push did not affect him much.
Now, both wrestlers jumped and grabbed each other by the arms. Kamoha took advantage of his weight and threw Sahir away with a single blow. Sahir stood up on his feet and moved again towards Kamoha with great anger in his eyes but this time Kamoha dropped him much harder than the first time.
His face had a mocking smile. The commentators were also constantly commenting according to the situation. Sahir didn't give up and again stood up on his feet and grabbed Kamoha by his arms. This time Kamoha forced him back to the ropes of the ring and started punishing him by rubbing his head with the ropes. This was an illegal move so the referee interfered and tried to stop Kamoha. One..., Two..., Three..., Four, before Five Kamoha released Sahir's head because if the referee went to five counts, the match would be stopped and Sahir would be termed as the winner via disqualification.
Before Sahir could recover from the pain, Kamoha gave him his illegal move, Kamoha grabbed him by the hair, which was an illegal move either, he put him over his left shoulder and slammed him into the turnbuckles. Sahir doubled over in pain. Kamoha looked completely dominant over Sahir in this match.
Uzair's face also showed signs of worry after seeing Sahir's condition. Kamoha pulled him away from the ring ropes and covered him. the referee counted One, Two and before Three Sahir kicked out. Seeing this, Kamoha's anger grew even more. He gave a strong kick to the stomach of Sahir who was lying down in the middle of the surface of the ring. Sahir doubled over on his knees. Kamoha grabs him by the neck and lifts him onto his shoulders for a powerbomb. His eyes were filled with pride.
Before he could throw him down Sahir regained control of his senses and wrapped both his legs tightly around his neck using a hurricanrana move to spin him around in the air and throw him down. Sahir's move made Kamoha lose his composure for a few moments. Sahir got onto his feet and delivered a dropkick to Kamoha when he was trying to get on his feet. Kamoha lay down on the surface of the ring. Sahir took advantage and climbed on the top rope to deliver a flying elbow to his stomach.
Seeing this side of Sahir, the fans also started chanting his name.
"Sahir...., Sahir..., Sahir....,"
Seeing Sahir overpowering Kamoha, Kamoha's associates decided to play their dirty tricks. One of them climbed the ringside and drew the referee's attention. Seeing the referee distracted, his other teammate rushed towards Saim and pushed him down to the surface of the ring.
Seeing them interfering, Uzair moved towards the one who pushed Sahir. He grabbed him down and punched him hard in the face, which made him fall to the ground. Seeing his comrade fall, the fourth man in their group rushed towards Uzair. Uzair had seen him coming towards him so without wasting any time he stopped him on the way and delivered a super kick to his jaw. Due to this he also fell to the ground. Pushing both of them to the ground, Uzair moved towards their partner, who was climbing ringside and distracting the referee. Uzair grabbed him by the legs, pulled him down, spun him upside the head and slammed him into the backyard ring wall.
Seeing the condition of his comrades, Kamoha rushed down the ring towards Uzair and grabbed him by the neck. Before he could do any damage to Uzair, Sahir ran at full speed and executed a suicide dive on Kamoha from the top rope, causing Kamoha to fall badly to the ground. Uzair stepped back.
"Sahir..., Sahir..., Sahir....," Everyone was chanting his name around the ring which filled energy in his body.
He grabbed Kamoha by the neck, stood him up and pushed him into the ring. Kamoha had become unconscious. Sahir again climbed the top rope and delivered a flying elbow this time, direct to Kamoha's stomach. Samoa's energy was coming to an end. He gathered his remaining strength, put his hands on his knees and tried to stand on his feet. Sahir was waiting for this moment. When Kamoha removed his hands from his knees, Sahir executed his finishing move *the devastating spear*, draining Kamoha of all his strength. Sahir pinned him to three counts and won the match. Uzair went forward into the ring warmly and hugged Sahir on his victory.
---------------
"Congratulations, Champ...," When he came backstage after defeating Kamoha, Faryal congratulated him on his victory.
"Thank you," He smiled heartily.
"By the way, the way Uzair supported you today is unprecedented," Faryal praised Uzair.
"Indeed, if he wasn't there to back me up, I wouldn't win," He admitted his help.
"I'll always be there at my friend's back," Uzair put his arm around his neck while walking.
"I know my lovely brother," Sahir put his arm also around his neck while walking. Faryal smiled at their brotherhood.
As the three of them went out walking, they were confronted by Kamoha and his group.
"Do you think, you will reach your destination that easily?," One of them who seemed to be their leader stepped forward, looked into Sahir's eyes and asked.
"A destination loses its value if it is easily get found," Sahir also answered him in the same way.
"The only reason you won today, was just because you were lucky. Next time we will take no time to kill you," He warned him.
"Okay, better luck for the next time," Sahir didn't show care at all.
"I am giving you a piece of advice young boy, just
quit wrestling, it's not for kids like you, if you died at such a young age, we'll be very sad," he mocked at his young age and let out a sickening laugh that his friends joined in on.
"That's the reason we started at a young age so that by the time we reach your age, at least we will have enough names to save our career so that we don't have to bully a new emerging wrestler by blocking his path," Sahir gave him a bitter reply with a sarcastic smile on his face.
Sahir's words made those bully wrestlers very angry and he punched Sahir in the face.
In response, Sahir punched him harder on the jaw.
Before the fight could progress, security separated them and warned them to be kicked out of the club.
"We will see you in a tag match next week, bring that your little freak with you," They went away shouting abuses.
