"Erin, finally! Are you ready?" he asked calmly, as if nothing was wrong.
I stood there completely frozen, struggling to find the words. It was excruciating to see them together again. Thoughts of revenge filled my mind, preventing me from making a scene.
At that moment, Kevin probably realised he owed me an explanation. His expression changed as he searched for the right words, and I wanted to hear them. I knew I shouldn't care, but playing the oblivious woman who watched everything Kevin did hurt my self-esteem far more than it should have.
Even though I was planning to end my relationship with Kevin in a way that the entire pack would remember, I couldn't allow them to shame me in front of the people we knew or ruin my revenge by revealing what was happening between them.
