Ronald's POV
When I got home in the evening, the housekeeper greeted me.
"Where is Dr Laurie?" I asked her.
"She is in her room," she replied.
"Has she had dinner yet?"
She shook her head with a smile. "No, she said she would wait for your return, Alpha."
"I'll check on her. We’ll be down in a few minutes," I said, and she nodded.
I walked upstairs and found her door ajar once again. I knocked lightly.
"Come in," she called, and I entered the room. She was sitting on her bed, holding the hospital records. When she saw me, her face lit up with a smile.
"You're finally back," she said, which warmed my heart. "Did you accomplish everything you planned?"
