Emmy’s face showed an expression of confusion. “Well, I would think seeing a person fighting off a giant heartless with a keyblade as a master, why do you ask?” Emmy asked with confusion. Dani leaned in and with a whisper said, “she is a kid like me, how can she be keyblade master? Emmy gave a small a chuckle, “Dani she is not a kid, she is an adult.”
Dani, taking a quick glance at Abigale, says, “no way.” Putting the book she was reading down, Emmy leaned in and says, “yes way, she is actually pretty close to a hundred.” Dani, again taking a quick glance at Abigale, asks, “how can she look so young?” The moment the question left Dani’s lips, Abigale slaps the letter down and looks at Dani, “come along now, we have work to do.”
Meanwhile at the clock tower, something evil ticks away. “Soon, this petty town will be mine and then every other world!,” Victoria cackled. The gears of the clock tower glowed an evil shade of purple as they moved the tower. From the corner of the tower, dark thorns formed revealing a black hole. “Now, Vicki, let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” says a smooth voice from the hole, “you still haven’t taken care of the troublemakers.”
With a look of disgust on her face, Victoria faces the hole in her wall. “As always you have to ruin my good mood,” Victoria sneered, “and how many times do I have tell you it’s Victoria not Vicki.” Facing the moving gears, Victoria continued, “…and about these two keyblade masters, I have things in place for them.”
The next day was bright, the townsfolk have once again crowded the streets as if nothing happened. “So Dani, how do you like Traverse Town?” Asked Abigale as they walked through the marketplace. Dani, walking closely behind, briefly looked around and says, “it’s a little different from my quiet island, that’s for sure.” Abigale giggled, “don’t worry my home will grow on you I promise.” Dani smiled as they continued to look around at the amazing sites.
From among the crowd screams erupted, causing a stampede of people to run towards Abigale and Dani. “Come on, there’s trouble afoot,” says Abigale as she runs through the crowd. Dani followed close behind and when they reached the source, they were met with a gruesome beast. It was a heartless, a bulldog looking heartless, also known as the Bully, it had a massive under bite and a muscular body to match. The heartless snapped at whatever came close to it’s steel trap jaws.
Dani hesitated for a second but she took one glance at Abigale’s determined expression and courage flowed through her again. Abigale made the first move, lifting her keyblade, the Time stopper, Abigale tried to stop it in its tracks. The spell didn’t work and only made the Bully angrier. The Bully charged at Abigale at top speed but Abigale was able to avoid.
“What were you trying to do?” Dani asked as she avoided a swipe from the Bully. Abigale gave a quick explanation, “let’s just say that every keyblade has a special ability it grants to their masters, mine allows me to stop time for a few seconds, but it only works on small weak ones.” Abigale and Dani jumped in separate directions to avoid another strike form the Bully. Dani stared at her keyblade, what power will I receive?” Dani asked herself.
As they kept dodging, Dani noticed that one of the heartless’s legs is damaged. “Abigale!” Dani yelled as she pointed at the damaged leg. Abigale smiled and darted for the weak leg, with one swift swing Abigale had the heartless on its knees and defeated. The townsfolk cheered with glee as they watched the defeated heartless turn to smoke, Dani watched on but from a distance Dani saw a familiar face.
Watching from the crowd Victoria glared and as she was about to leave, Dani called out to her. “Victoria!” Dani yelled, “where are you heading too.” Victoria turned around slowly and with a smile says, “nowhere special, just looking around, care to join me?” Dani nodded and they walked off into the crowd. Emmy, sensing that something was not right, spotted them and hurried to Abigale to tell her.
As Dani followed Victoria she realized that she entered an area that was new to her. This part of town was dark, wet, and smelled of mold. “Umm, Victoria, where are we going?” Dani asked nervously. They turned a corner into a large, decrepit plaza and there, in the middle, stood a small rundown house. “Welcome to my humble home,” Victoria motioned to the door, “it’s not much but it’s livable.”
