Kate POV
After Alexander feeds on me, I sit beside him like a loving daughter waiting to meet her brother for the first time. Erick walks into the house with Andrew, Cassie, and Macon coming in behind them. I do not stand to greet him. I sit silently beside Alexander. Erick squints his eyes at me. He knows what I have done. He is not happy, but he knows why I did it, I am sure.
Macon stands in front of me, looking me over. “Sister,” Macon says to me slyly with a hiss. If he is trying to intimidate me, it is not going to work. I have dealt with far worse than him in my life.
