Prologue
George and Jason have always been close. They were barely two years apart in age, but their whole life they did everything together. George was older, and more serious and reliable from a very young age. Jason was spoiled and a troublemaker. Inseparable, they did everything together. Since they were royals, they were well off, attended the best schools, had all the best tutors, and became educated and knowledgeable young men.
When their eldest sister Emily turned 18, they were both still in elementary school. Young boys, they attended their first real party. It was mostly grown ups, but also Emily's friends from school. They were excited and a bit tipsy because Jason, the troublemaker he is, sneaked them each a glass of champagne. Running around, laughing, dancing with Emily's friends, they were having an amazing time. By midnight they were so tired they needed to catch a breath, because they didn't want to go to sleep yet. And they didn't have to. While outside on the balcony, they overheard two girls whispering.
'It can not be true. She hasn't had a vision in 3 years. What did you hear her say again?' They heard one of the two say.
'I can't get it out of my head. She said:
The brothers will go from friend to foe,
The beautiful queen will witness it all.
The one at fault will run away,
The one she chose would not let her stay.
The magic words were never said,
The queen of all without magic remains.
The end could come for all we know,
The blue eyed girl will save us all.
There. I have no idea what it means. I mean, it could be something stupid. Not all visions have a meaning or a prophecy. And it does not help that she does not remember anything.' The other one sounded troubled, but sighed.
'Come on, let's go home. I am tired.
'Sure. Let's also forget about this. It is like the one when we taught the neighbour's cat would start breathing fire. That vision was a complete overreaction.' The went towards the door.
Two boys looked at one another. George wanted to go after them, but Jason stopped him.
'It is stupid. And it can not be about us. We would never turn against each other.'
George was reluctant to let them go, but they were already gone. Besides, there wasn't much more they could say.
'Of course, you're right. There are no reliable vision speakers left anyways. Let's forget about it and call it a night. I am exhausted. I have no idea how these grown ups can party so often.' George began to yawn and walk back inside. Jason went after him.
'What the heck? I can go on all night. Fine fine, granny. Let's go to bed.'
