Chapter 7: Travis Waking Up

When I woke up Matt was sitting next to me reading a book. "Hey man sorry about earlier but how is she, is she out of surgery yet?" “Hey Trav, yes she is out of surgery and is in her room but the doctor wants to talk to you before you go in to see her. So I will go get her so you guys can talk.” I wonder why the doctor wants to talk to me before I go and see her? What could the doctor possibly want to talk about?

Hey Travis, I am glad to see that you are awake and looking a lot better! I wanted to come in and talk to you about your mate and what I have found while in surgery. “Okay Liz what did she see while in surgery on my mate?” Well Travis when we went in we knew that a rib has punctured her lung and that is why she was not breathing great. While we opened her up it was more than just one broken rib. Her whole rib cage was broken and had previous healing in place but then was rebroken. Whatever has happened to this girl has been going on for a very long time. If she ever did eat it was not that much, they just gave her enough to where she would not die. If she was not a wolf she would have died of malnourishment. She can easily get hurt. You will have to make sure that she eats as much as she can throughout the day and does not get hurt on anything or by anyone looking for her.  

I will protect her with all my heart Liz. She means the world to me! When do you think she will wake up? “I have no idea when she will wake up Travis, she has been so abused for a very long time. I do not know how long it will take her body to heal for her to be able to wake up.” How am I supposed to live from day to day without knowing my mates name and when she will wake up. I am going to have to call Matt and ask him to let everyone know that I found my mate and that she is in the hospital and will need help until I know that she is okay. “Hey Matt, let everyone know what is going on. I am going to stay with my mate for a bit to see if she will wake up any time soon.” 

Liz finally let me into my mates room, the constant beeping of her heart machine gave me comfort knowing that she is alive and breathing. I grabbed her hand and saw all the scars that were covering up her arm. The only thing that gives wolf scars is from silver knives or bullets.. Who could do this to her? I saw the bandages around her chest from surgery and just wanted her to feel better and not be in this hospital bed. 

It started to get real late in the night and she still has not woken up and I was getting exhausted from all the worrying and passing out. I told everyone to leave us alone in the room unless they needed to check her vitals. Liv said she would be in throughout the night to check in on my mate to make sure nothing happens to her.
