Chapter five

1010 Words
It has been a month since school’s been in session. Elisa’s life has been going smoothly and after her little fight with Vicky in the restaurant over a week ago, the bond between them both grew stronger as Vicky always carried her along wherever she’s going with the cheer squad except she refuses to go and Saturdays belonged to them both no matter what was going on. “Hey!!. Elisa get down, we’re gonna be late”, Vicky exclaimed. “I’m coming, just give me a little more time and I’ll be down Vick”, Elisa responded from her room. The basketball team was having their first game today and Vicky had a o be at school earlier than usual for their pre-rehearsal before the game. The team were up against another school from the neighboring district. “What’s taking you so long Lis?”, Vick said impatiently. “I’m coming to your room”. Vick swiftly went to Elisa’s room. This was the first time in a while that she entered the room. Whenever she comes over they either spend time in the living room watching tv and having random conversations or they head to the theatre to watch a movie or go to a restaurant. “What happened here?”, Vicky asked in amazement. “What’s wrong?”, “What’d you do to your room?”, “You don’t like it?”, “That’s not what I said Lis, it’s just been a while since I came here and I’m just shocked. That’s all”, “Ohhh… okay, but if you must know. I did a little change during last summer break when we were renovating the place”, “This isn’t little Lis, this is a lot”, she exclaimed. “We’ll you sure are taking this your gothic phase se….”, “Phase?!”, “Don’t take it too serious Lis”, “What do you mean by phase?”, she questioned Vicky. Elisa got hurt by the statement she made. She was okay with her mom calling it a phase but she didn’t know Vicky thought the same way. “Do you think this is just a phase?”, “Well, you didn’t always dress like this during sophomore year. I’m sorry if I offended you though but girl you need to chill out”, “Okay— whatever you say”, “Hurry up though, I’m waiting for you outside”, Vicky said leaving Elisa’s room. Elisa spent an extra minute or two deciding on an outfit to wear to school that day but she finally went with a red and black striped loose knitted oversized striped sweater and a skirt with her favorite high heel boots. “Hurry up girl, we’d be late”, “It’s 6:30 in the morning, I bet the rest of the squad aren’t in school yet. I don’t know why you’re such in a hurry”, “How’re you such they’ve not started the rehearsal yet. Just get in the car”, Vicky said countering her statement. “I’m already getting in, you’re the one who needs to chill Vick”, Elisa responded entering the car. Vicky turned on the engine of the vehicle and they started moving. “Sorry, I’m a little bit tensed”, Vicky said finally breaking the silence in the atmosphere while driving. “Why’re you tensed?”, “This is going to be the first time I’m really going to cheer for the boys in an actual game, don’t want to mess this up”, “I thought this whole cheerleader stuff was to get close to Willow?, why are you bothered about the game?”, “If I screw up, my chances with Willow would become minimum and….”, “Have you even spoken to her yet?”, Elisa asked. “Yeah, why not?”, “You know what I mean Vick. Have you?”, “Well.. I.. I haven’t spoken to her personally yet but I’m getting there. When the perfect time comes I’ll know”, Vicky stuttered. “By the way how’re you sure Willow’s gay?”, “OMG!!”, Vick shouted stomping the brakes with so much strength bringing the car to a halt with so much force. “What the hell is wrong with you VICK?!!”, Elisa exclaimed trying to catch her breath from the sudden shock. “What if she’s straight?, What if I tell her and she turns me down?, What if….”, “Calm down captain what if. So what she’s not into girls?. You can always make her consider being bi”, “How’re you sure she’d just turn bi because of me?”, “Vick all girls are bi. We haven’t just found another girl to ignite the flame of it within us”, “You’re right Lis”, “I’m always right girl and I asked if you’re such Willow’s gay, never said she isn’t”, “Ohh… yeah, I guess I wasn’t really paying attention”, Vicky chuckled nervously. “So now remove your feet from the brake and let’s get to school for your rehearsal”, “Sorry.. I forgot it was still there”, Vicky replied. She continued driving towards the school’s direction and within five minutes they arrived at the car park. “Okay babe, I’ll meet you in class. Gotta go”, Vick said as she got down from the car. “I’ll stay here until school’s a little bit occupied with annoying people, I don’t want to be looking like a weirdo in front of your squad”, Elisa replied as Vicky left her for the school’s court. —————————————————————
