Chapter Twenty-TwoJuly 29 9:05 a.m. Emma and Michael sat in Dr. Rayburn's office once again, with familiar feelings of anticipation approaching panic. It was as if making them wait was part of the t*****e; they sat idly with the expectation that bad news that was always just around the corner. Dr. Rayburn walked into the room and sat down. He was quiet for a moment and then slowly grinned. “It's good news,” he offered. “We are seeing the beginnings of tumor shrinkage.” “Oh my God,” Emma screamed. “Really?” “Yes, really. We are only a week into the new therapy, and the d**g appears to be working.” “It's the d**g my father provided?” Dr. Rayburn nodded. “It is.” Emma and Michael lit up, grinning widely. “Thank you so much,” Emma said.
