The next morning…
I wake up with stains of blood on my hands and mouth. My head spinning around as I tried to get up from my bed. Taking a glance at a mirror in front of me, my eyes open wide and instantly I see a play of the incident that had happened last night.
“Hello? Anyone there?” The little girl calls out..
Another snap of a tree branch getting closer towards her.
“W…who is there!” She calls out again, trembling in fear.
Panicking She began to hasten her pace as she felt prying eyes on her.
“Someone help me!” She screams in fear, running as fast as she can.
A quick peek to her other side there I stood right in front of her.
“P…please don't kill me.” She begs her feet shaking.
I come out of the shadows revealing my red piercing eyes in the dark.
“W…what are you?” She trembles, taking some steps backwards.
“I hiss…”
“My next meal.” I lunch myself towards her, my fangs hanging out for a bite. I dug deep into her neck and began to feed ruthlessly.
I watched myself through the mirror as I threw up in disgust of what I had done that night. Watching the little girl's lifeless body drop dead right before my very eyes was a gruesome thing to witness.
“What have I done?” I asked myself, pacing back and forth in my room. If anyone should discover her body there's no escaping death . I have to do something about it.
I immediately dressed up to join the women in the bathing riverside. Here only ladies were free to bathe. No male were allowed but if caught peeping when a woman bathed it's treason and the Penalty is exile from the pack.
Few minutes later…
I had taken my bath and headed to my cottage to change. I wore my pendant which turned from red to blue. I carefully unlock my door, opening it slightly to avoid unwanted noise.
I shut the door gently right behind me and tiptoed to where I had been last night. I hurried into the deeper parts of their territory hoping to find the body of the dead girl.
I searched endless paths on the forest floor. transformed into a werewolf trying to get a trail of where I had gone. I sprinted deep into the forest shadows, my eyes ever watching for any signs of movement and ears for the faintest of sounds.
Suddenly I notice something moving in a bush and to my surprise I find the little girl covered with blood. I transform back to my human self guilt crawling on my body.
“What have I done?” I take the girl's body in my arms.
She didn't move anymore. I didn't feel her heartbeat anymore.
“N…no pls, pls, ahhhh!” I shout in pain for I knew the consequences of my action.
Guilt filled my heart, my hands shaking in realisation that she had died. I tried pressing my hands on her chest hoping she would get back to life but nothing worked.
“Why did you let this happen!” I gazed up to the moonlight cursing endless. My tears flowed endlessly. With the little girl's lifeless body in arms my tears dripped down from my chin to the place where I had fed her.
Something magical begins to happen…
My pendant began to bring out rays of different colours which glowed even more. Sparkle of light falls off from the sky falling directly to the little girl's lifeless body.
Immediately her eyes open as she takes a deep breath back to life. I stared at the miracle that had happened. I immediately wrapped my arms around her with relief.
“What's happening?” she asked in fear.
“It's ok. You're fine .” I looked at her with reassurance.
At dusk…
It was getting late to be in the forest by this time. I was hungry and tired but needed to eat. With the little strength left in me I was able to hunt down an antelope distance between us.
With one powerful bite the antelope was dead. I brought it to where were. I made a fire with wood to warm ourselves up for the night.
We both stayed silent for a while. I gazed up to the sky as stars dim brightly, making consolation.
“Who are you?” goes the little girl.
“me?” I muttered.
“Yes you. I haven't seen you here.” She said, her gaze fixed on me.
“I'm Daisy, a rejected Omega from my pack.” I take a deep breath.
“An Omega?” She shook her head.
“Yes.” I replied back.
“What are you doing here?” she asked in concern.
“Fighting for the truth, fighting for my father's innocence.” I looked towards the sky, my eyes filled with tears.
“Oh, sorry, that must be painful.” She looked at me in pain.
“It was but I'm here to fight for my father even if it means sacrificing myself” I wiped off tears from my face.
We both gazed at the sky, the moonlight casting shadows down on us. There's power in the moonlight or I'm torn by moonlight.
Sunrise setting…
We had slept off in the forest, the sunshine sipping through leaves which shone in our eyes. Our campfire had burned out leaving ashes behind.
“Well it's time for me to return back home. I don't know you yet but you seem powerful.” The little girl told me.
“Thanks. What's your name?” I ask, beaming out a smile.
“My name is miya” she answered. With joy she warmly gave me a hug.
“It was nice having someone to talk to.” I smiled as I watched her disappearing into the forest woods.
I gaze at my pendant with more curiosity about the powers it has. Probably this wasn't just a family hire loom but more than what my father had said.
Returning back to to my cottage I get tangled up in a branch which greased my right arm. I hold my arm in pain, coming out was blood but not you're normal red colour of blood. My blood colour turned midnight blue.
I stare in shock, scared at the meaning of this incident.
“What's going on?” I tell myself. Trying so hard to brush what happened I get a piece of cloth which I wrapped up on my arms. I sneaked back quietly to room with the hope that no one saw me retuning back.
At my cottage with A sign of relief though I thought. I heard a family voice which brought back fear in me
“Where have you been?” Harold commanded, eyes fixed on me with a deep intensity.
I stared quietly. What if he knew the truth? nor was I reported by his troops? Whatever it is, I can't escape him, not this time around.
