Heading in to work with my iced coffee I went straight to Jericho's office.
He greeted me with a warm hug before we took our seats.
"What brings you here?"
"Delton. I've found his family and they are willing to give him a place to stay once he's released. They would also like to see him, they have two young kids and I don't think having them in the visitation area is a good idea so I was wondering if I could have them in my office to meet him during one of our sessions." I rushed out.
Jericho leaned back, "Indi, you seem as if you are getting far too invested in this."
"I am not, I just want to do my job and he needs this, he really needs this."
"I will allow it once and only once."
"Thank you!" I jumped to my feet, running over to hug him, "You won't regret this, Uncle J."
"I better not, now sit down."
His tone was extremely serious as I returned to my seat, "Why does it sound like you're about to give me a lecture."
"I am, how are things going with Leo?"
"I don't think that I'm ready for any relationships right now so we've decided to remain friends for now."
He raised a brow, "And this isn't due to a certain inmate is it?"
I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks, "No! Of course not, that wouldn't be very professional of me and you know I'd lose my job."
"Yes, well I also know you, Indi, and you have never been one to shy away from what your heart wants. I am just reminding you not to do something that you may regret, you have worked hard to get where you are today and I would hate to see you throw it all away."
I nodded, taking a sip of my coffee, "I agree, and I would never risk my job or my reputation." He was right, there was simply too much to consider, yet another reminder that I needed to remain professional and control myself around Jax, even though he was so hot which made it extremely hard.
Jericho leaned over on his desk, "Indi, I see that look in your eye. It's the same look your mother had in her eyes when she met your dad."
I couldn't help but let out a sigh, I had heard the story many times, how Jeri had watched his little sister fall in love with my father when he had nothing, how inseparable they had always been.
"Jeri, I am not falling for an inmate, please relax."
"I'll be keeping an eye on you. Now, we're having your parents over this weekend for dinner, why don't you join us?"
Well, I had wanted to mend my relationships, "I would love to, text me the time and date and I'll be there. Now, let me get to work."

After yet another exhausting day at work I had called Jonah to set up a time and date for their meeting with Jax, both he and his wife Hayley were extremely excited to see him and I had invited them to bring their children, the entrance to my office was in such a way that the kids would not be exposed to anything.
Getting my purse, I walked through the prison cells to go and deliver the news to Jax, ignoring the whistles and catcalls from some of the inmates.
Reaching his cell, I was surprised to see that he had a new cellmate.
What annoyed me was the fact that he had a cellmate who had come in for extremely brutal crimes, there was no way he was getting out any time soon and he was such a danger that he had not been allowed an appointment with me.
I tried to ignore my discomfort with the way his eyes roamed my body as Jax came over to the bars.
"Hey, Blue, what are you doing down here?"
"I came to let you know that everything is set for your family's visitation," I glanced at the man in the cell, "I see you got a new cellmate."
"Yeah, this is Harry."
I turned my attention back to Jax, "Please stay on your best behaviour, we don't need anything messing this up for you."
"You got it, anything for you."
"Have a good night." I just wanted to get out of there, Harry gave me a rather horrible feeling that made my skin crawl.
I had almost arrived home when my phone buzzed, pulling over I was surprised to see it was a phone call from my sister, Ruby.
"Hey," I answered, "I didn't expect to hear from you."
My older sister Ruby and I had always had a rocky relationship, we were so different that we were more like acquaintances than siblings. She was only two years older than I, but she had always been the more immature of us. She was extremely spoilt, even in adulthood, she enjoyed the finer things in life, which I had no problem with, but I preferred to live differently.
"It's been a while, little sis, I got your text but it was too late to respond. Are you off work?"
"Yeah, I am. What's up?"
"Well, I was thinking we could go for a drink, lord knows I need it." I could picture her picking at her perfectly manicured nails as she spoke.
"Sure, let me get changed and then we can meet. Knowing you it will probably be some posh place."
She let out a high-pitched chuckle, "You know me! Get that ass glammed up and meet me at Steeles."
I groaned once she was off the phone and made my way home.
The last thing I wanted to do was go out to some fancy restaurant.
Twenty minutes later I walked in; I wore a simple green dress with black heels and light make-up, this was as glammed up as I was going to get.
I spotted Ruby instantly, admittedly she was hard to miss, her hair was always dyed to perfection, her face always done up, she looked like she was permanently ready for a magazine shoot.
She squealed a little too loudly as she threw her arms around me for a brief hug, "Oh em gee, you look so good!"
"Thanks, you look great too."
We took a seat next to one another at the bar where Ruby ordered a Blue Malibu for me and a Cosmopolitan for herself.
"Okay, so, what has been going on in the life of my baby sis?"
"Not much, I'm thinking of getting q pet, that's about as exciting as it gets."
She rolled her eyes, "You seriously need to get out more, find a man and all that."
"I did find a man, but I don't want a relationship right now."
"Girl, you don't need a relationship, you can just have some fun, friends with benefits. Right now I have two of those, sweet and caring bestie Carl and then dark and brooding Jacob, who is also my boss. Oh my God, you need to meet my boss, he is a hunk!"
I took a large gulp of my drink, "Rubes, you know I've never been about that life."
"Yeah, yeah, anyway, tell me about this man you met."
I bit my lower lip, a bad habit I had when I was shy, "Well his name is Leo and he's a detective, Martha set us up. He's a nice guy but there's no chemistry there... And I kind of made out with one of my patients."
She slapped a hand over mine, "What?! An inmate! Oh my god! Is he hot?"
I chuckled, "Yes, he is hot, hence my slip up."
"This is juicy! You should fvck him though, you need to have some fun, and what better fun than a forbidden lover?"
Well, she had changed slightly, before she would have attacked me for even looking at someone with a record.
"Ruby, as fun as it is talking about Jax, I came here to reconnect with you, not get myself all frustrated."
"Oh, sis, don't get all embarrassed, you're a woman with needs, nothing wrong with that."
I downed my drink, this was going to be a long night that I'd need lots of alcohol to get through.
But maybe she was right, maybe I needed to have some fun for a change.
