  After dinner, Julian took Evelyn and left.   Gerald didn't follow them. He chose to stay at the old house.   Caroline was fuming. She didn't bother to say a word, just turned around and stormed upstairs.   Bernard didn't look any better himself.   Gerald sat calmly on the living room couch, watching Caroline's angry back without any change in expression.   His eyes shifted to Bernard, tone cooling down, "Your wife's temper? That's all on you for spoiling her."   Bernard's mouth twitched.   Just earlier, didn't the old man tell his grandson to cherish his wife and listen to her?   Now it's all his fault for letting his wife act up?   That double standard could really win an award.   As if reading Bernard's mind, Gerald let out a sharp snort. "You and Julian? Not even close."
