Meikah saw a mist form in Kellan’s clear brown eyes, obscuring the colour. She didn’t doubt him. He tended to go out of his way to make sure people talked. “I need to go home. I’ve got a feeling tomorrow is going to be a long day.”
“It might be long, but it’s definitely going to be fun.” Kellan stepped forward to take Meikah’s hand. “I’ll walk you home and reset the wards for you.”
“Night.” Livia strode through the curtained doorway, Shade following Livia after saying goodnight, Mace doing the same.
“I’ll walk with you too,” Rafe said.
Meikah drew her hand from Kellan’s. “I wonder what it’s like in the Arcton Mountains.” She stepped outside, Rafe and Kellan following her.
“If half the rumours are true it’ll be a lawless place filled with myths, legends and danger,” Kella
