It's You, The Alley Guy!

Anna seemed to be trapped again in those eyes. She was lost. Matthew was the first to blink and looked at the clothes in the rack.

"Where will I put these?" Matthew asked Anna.

"Uhm... Yeah. Just push the rack, Sir, to the display area. I will do the display and dress the mannequins." she pulled back and pointed to the other room.

"Sure." Matthew started pushing the first rack.

Anna was puzzled. Why was her boss suddenly becoming kind and considerate? and what was happening to her.. She was lost every time they looked each other in the eyes. Is she attracted to him? No. That can't be. He was so out of her league - a wealthy handsome man.

Matthew is 28 years old, standing 6 foot tall, with fair skin. His father is Mr. Jonathan Daniels, an American business man. His mother is Lucila Melendez, a Filipina beauty queen. He has 2 siblings, Martina and Michael. He lived and studied in the US. They owned a group of companies all over the globe.

Anna is a Filipina. She came from a small family in Cavite City. Her mom is a public school teacher and her dad is a government employee.

Anna is a single mom. So for her, her status is far, very far from Matthew's.

Anna shrugged that idea. She pushed the second rack to the display area. Matthew got the rack from her.

"Let me do the pushing. You start your display." he said smiling to Anna. This is the first time she saw him smiling. It made him more charming. Anna blushed.

She started dressing the mannequins. She was done on one display when Matthew finished his racks.

"It's beautiful." he said, referring to the dress on the mannequin.

"Thank you." Anna said.

"I think you can go, Sir. I can take care of these." Anna said. She was uncomfortable having Matthew around, specially in one closed room with no other people around, just the two of them.

"No. I've got two options for you Ms. Miranda. One, we finished it together or two, we go home now and let the assistant designers do this job tomorrow. What do you think?" He said mischievously.

"Then, let's call it a night, Sir." Anna smiled back and nodded.

They left the room together after turning the lights off. Anna leads the way.

"Goodnight, Mr. Daniels." she said and hurriedly went to her office to get her things. She entered the door and packed her things. Then touched the picture of her son lovingly.

She's okay with going late tonight because Enzo will be spending the night with his lola. Today is her ex mother-in-law's birthday.

"Ehemm... " Matthew cleared his throat. He was standing at the door waiting for Anna.

Startled, Anna looked at Matthew.

"Huh?! I thought you left, Sir." said Anna.

"I thought I made myself clear Ms. Miranda, let's go home together. Meaning let's leave this building together." he said smiling.

'What was happening, he smiled a lot tonight.' Anna thought.

"Uhm, okay. Sure." she picked up her bag and her lunch box.

They left the room together and walked to the elevator.

"You seemed to work hard, Anna. You're husband might be jealous of your work if you work overtime more often." Matthew said as they entered the lift.

"I don't have a husband, Sir. at least, not anymore..." Anna said. Her looks became sad and angry at the same time. Matthew knew it already but he wants to know from her.

"Oh I'm sorry. I won't ask anymore " he said feeling sorry.

"It's okay. I'm okay anyway. I have my son with me. But, he's on my ex mother-in-law's tonight for a sleepover. If that's what you're asking why I'm going home late." she's smiling now.

"Uhuh, that's nice." he said.

"Uhmm. I want to ask you something. But, I hope you won't be mad." Matthew said.

"Okay. As long as it isn't too personal." she said smiling. She gets a little comfortable with him now.

"I think I met you somewhere before. You kinda look familiar. Your voice, your..." He's about to say scent but he stopped. He may sound p*****t if he said that. But he clearly remembered her scent. That milky vanilla roses unique scent. He can't explain but his brain knew it very well.

"I mean, you looked so familiar to me. I've been here last year but I am sure you weren't around." explained Matthew.

That time she was on leave. That was the time for their annulment hearing and series of psychological intervention. They were obliged by the court to undergo counseling and psychological assessments.

"Honestly, I thought so, too, Mr. Daniels." Anna sighed. She noticed her heart beating rappidly.

"Correct me if I'm wrong... You were in Hongkong on November 2019?" he asked. Although he already knew the answer, he wanted for Anna to remember him by aksing her not by telling her.

"OMG! I knew it. You're the alley guy! Oh my, I can't believe it. What a small world, Sir!" She said with astonishment in her eyes.

"Yeah. If not because of you, I wouldn't be alive. You saved me, Anna. I couldn't thank you enough." he said sincerely.

"It's a co incidence, Sir, that I went that way that night." she said.

"You know what I think, the universe conspired for you to go there to save me.." he said looking at Anna.

Ding! The elevator reached the ground floor.

"Can I treat you to a simple dinner tonight as my way of saying 'thank you'?" said Matthew as they walk towards the car park.

"I think..." Anna glanced at her watch. It's passed nine in the evening. True, she didn't have dinner yet but...

"Please?" Matthew insisted.

"Well, I'm starving anyways. But isn't it improper for me to dine with the boss?" she asked.

"Silly." Matthew laughed.

'He is not only smiling tonight. I also got the privilege to hear his laughter.' Anna said to herself. She blushed at that thought.
