The Hidden Luna

Chapter 14 no spare time.

I had been nonstop working for the past few days. I loved the new position, but it was taking some getting used too. I started at 5am and didn’t finish my mornings till 12pm, then my afternoon shift started at 3 till 7 but I always stuck around to help Chloe. I had a message from the Alpha that he wanted to see me after my evening shift so around 7:30pm today. It was all sorted with Chloe and it was now 7pm. I was just cleaning my station off after baking 5 cakes. I always made extra for the late comers or as night snacks. Either way they were always gone by the time I came in a morning. “don’t you have a meeting soon madam.” Chloe shouted to me from the other side of the kitchen.

“Yeah, I am almost cleared up now.” I told her.

“Leave the rest, I will do it. Go get cleaned up. You have flour in your hair.” She told me smirking. I looked at my reflection on the steel fridge. I looked a right mess. I laughed it off and said goodbye to everyone. I was finally happy here. It had took a lot but I was happy.

I dusted my hair as much as I could before I left the kitchen. I probably still looked atrocious, but I didn’t care.

“You may not but I do” Star said while cleaning herself.

“You haven’t even been anywhere to get dirty.” I sarcastically said back.

“Well seeing you in the mirror made me feel dirty!”

God that she wolf is OTT, I thought to myself. I headed straight to the bathroom to get washed, then headed to my room to get clean clothes on, brushed my hair and looked in the mirror. I looked 10 x better new. I checked the time and had 5 minutes to get to the Alphas office.

I headed out my door and straight to the stairs. I looked up and sighed to myself.

“Here we go again.” I said to myself. I started up the stairs. It was getting a little easier each time I did it and it was quite regular lately. As I approached the large oak door the scent, that I gathered was the young Alphas, was there. “This is going to be awkward.” I said to Star. I hadn’t seen him since he had given me my drawing pad back.

“You didn’t even see him then. He came while you were working.” She said sarcastically. She was right though. I mean I only bumped into him that once, quite literally ‘bumped’ into him.

“More literally walked into him you mean.” Star corrected me.

I knocked on the door 3 times as I always did.

“Enter” came the expected response.

I pushed down the door handle and pushed open the heavy door. I took a deep breath silently as I entered the room. Probably not the best idea either as Star started to prance and play around in my head.

I looked up to see both Alphas at the desk, Jackson was stood at the side of his dad who was sat in the large arm chair.

“Hello again Lauren. How are you?” He began. He gave me a small smile that helped my nerves a little.

“Hello Alphas” I said back with a bow. “I am good thank you.” I replied slowly approaching the desk.

“I want to formally introduce my son, Jackson.” The Alpha said gesturing to Alpha Jackson. He placed his hand out for a greeting.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you officially, Lauren.” He said.

I took his hand and shook it pleasantly.

“The honour is mine Alpha Jackson.” I said. I took my hand back and sat in the chair opposite them both. My hand felt cold now for some reason. I shook it off for now. Jackson didn’t take his eyes off me at all. It was kind of unnerving actually.

“I called you here as there has been some reviews for the new baked goods.” He began. My heart started sinking. I thought everyone like them.

“The pack are loving the new menus and we’re wondering if you would consider taking requests.” He said hiding a laugh.

“Oh of course I could. I am so glad everyone likes the current menu sir.” I replied. I was so relieved. “I could definitely take some requests. I could do a request day every week. Would you think that would be, ok?” I asked him.

“That sounds like a fantastic idea. Lauren.” You are so thoughtful of the other pack members.

“Can I request some more of them delicious cinnamon buns you did last week, please.” Jackson asked me. He was blushing slightly too. I tried to hide it but I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I giggled and even the main Alpha joined in, then Jackson started.

“I suppose that is ok. I was going to do them tomorrow anyway.” I said still giggling.

“Right let’s get back on topic, shall we?” The Alpha asked. “I also wanted to give you this. Your Gym wear arrived earlier today. I thought you would want it.” He said handing me the packaged goods.

“Thank you so much Alpha.” I said excitedly.

“You are very welcome Lauren. Just remember the deal we have.” He said looking directly at me.

“I will and thank you so much Alpha.” I spoke. I bowed and turned to walk out the door. I was feeling so relieved that the meeting went well. I turned and looked back at Jackson as I walked through the door. He was still looking at me and smiling.

“Star. We can use the gym now. Isn’t it fantastic.” I said to her excitedly.

“Yeah you know It is Lauren, but can’t we go back and just stare at Alpha Jackson.” She asked. I shook my head as I walked back to my room.

We can go to the gym now when we have time I thought to myself.

When I got back to my room, I put my new gym clothes in my draws. I had two sets. In another little package was a card for use to sign in and out of the gym. I really wanted to go check it out, but I had to do my washing tonight, I was getting desperate. I placed the card in my top draw of my bedside cabinet and grabbed all my dirty clothes.

I headed down to the laundry room and started sorting it all out. It was two wash loads full this time. Normally it would only be half a load, but I had gotten really busy and kept putting it off. I filled both machines up and added the detergent to the drum. I closed the door and set them both going on a quick wash. It only took 15 minutes per load, and they were never really that dirty.

While they were washing, I began to draw. I don’t know what I wanted to draw but I just got on with it. Once the washers were done, I put my clothes into the dryer and turned it on. This took the longest time. I sat back down and continued to draw. After about an hour my clothes were done, so I folded them and placed them back in the wash bag to carry back to my room. I took a look at my drawing and couldn’t believe what I had drawn.

It was a large wolf with dark coloured fur and emerald, green eyes.

“What on earth?” I questioned.

“That’s my bad. That’s what I imagine Jackson’s wolf looks like.” Star admitted. I giggled and headed back to my room; I had no idea why star seemed so obsessed with the alpha.
