Jackson POV
I took the drawing pad in my hand. I had spent the past few hours looking at the drawings. They were amazing. This girl had some amazing talent. The pad was nearly full and I vowed I would get her a new one as a gift.
“I can’t just give it her back, can I?” I asked my wolf Lynx.
“Well we could I would get to meet her then.” He said dreamily. This big bad wolf was acting like a bloody love struck teen. “Hay, you take that back mate.” He snapped at me.
“Nope can’t do that. I have already said it!” I gloated. “How about I put a note in the pad and tell her she is still safe and I wont say anything?” I said. That sounded like a good idea. I could then take the pad to her room and leave it for her. Hopefully she won’t be too freaked. I would need to make sure she wasn’t in her room too.
I began writing the note. It was harder than I originally thought though. I wanted her to know that she wasn’t alone and she was safe to talk to me. When she was ready. I had found out from the records that she and the man that claimed to be her dad had never initiated into the pack fully but were accepted. I also found out that she was only 15. She would be 16 soon.
“She is only an Omega though numpty. It’s not like she will ever have a wolf.” Lynx said. Slightly heartbroken.
When we mate to our fated mates we connect on a human level and both our wolves would connect to. Omegas didn’t actually have wolves so Lynx would never get his other part of him. I felt really bad and I even considered breaking the bond for his sake.
“Don’t you even think about it!” He scolded me. “I don’t care she won’t have a wolf; it just means that you will have to share her.” He said matter of factly. I still felt bad, but I know that he was right. The mate bond was to be cherished not tainted all because of ranks. A lot of packs thought like me, and rank didn’t matter, although I had never heard of Alphas being mates to Omegas before.
There were a few packs that were old fashioned, and rank was everything. I didn’t care and neither would Lynx. I wouldn’t normally dream of rejecting her all because of rank but I did feel bad for Lynx. I finished the letter and placed it inside the cover. Hopefully she won’t be too spooked by this.
“Ok. Now how do I put it back?” I asked Lynx.
“We need to make sure she’s not in her room first.” He said. He was right. I looked at the time. 2:41am. Oh my god I have been up admiring the drawings most of the night.
I am going feel it later. I will take the book back while breakfast is served. I know she will be in the kitchen during breakfast. I decided that I would do more research on the blue moon pack. I put the note pad in my underwear draw, as no one goes in there apart from the laundry omegas. I headed off to the library. That’s the best place for research.
Once I got to the library, I headed for the pack history section. This had all the packs history and other packs history. I needed to look up Blue Moon pack. I found a book on the pack, but it was only thin. Most pack records were thick books and normally a few of them. I slid the book off the shelf and took a seat on one of the nearby sofas.
The cover of the book was mesmerising. It was a picture of a silver wolf and a Blue moon in the background. The wolf had silver eyes. They reminded me of the girls eyes that day by the river.
“They are the same!” Lynx said. “Open the book then and we can actually read it.” He continued ordering me.
I opened the first page and there was a heritage tree. This shows the bloodline of all alphas and Luna’s of the packs. This tree had 3 branches and that was all. The first branch were the founding Alpha and Luna. Derek and Julie newton. Derek’s line started it as he was from twin brothers. Julie was from shadow pack in Mexico and of Beta blood.
They had a son called Benjamin Newton who married Clair Byron. She was from alpha blood and from Italy. They were naturally stronger than us wolves here in the U.S. The branch after that only contained one name Lauren Newton. It had two dates on it too. Her date of birth and date of death, although the date of death was the date the pack got attacked.
“If our Lauren is their daughter then, she is a second generation Alpha by blood. That would make her stronger than most alphas I know.” I casually said to myself.
“Look at her date of birth. She is only 15. She is 16 in two weeks.” Lynx said. I thought about it and it would make sense why she didn’t feel what I felt. She didn’t have her wolf yet and so the mate bond didn’t effect her like me. “But her eyes, Lynx. I know what I saw. They were silver!” I said adamantly.
“I know what you saw I was there to remember. I guess it could have been a trick of the sun light on the water reflecting and making her eyes like that.” He said trying to to figure it all out.
“Or we are both wrong and she is no relation to the Blue moon pack.” I replied disheartened. I continued to read through the book. I remained in the library reading the book until around 4:30. I had to go and get ready for training with the boys and warriors. I put the book back on the shelf and headed up to my room.
