Chapter 1

 “Come back to bed please…” I beg Asher and pout my lips, watching him button his white collar dress shirt up, he bends down and pecks me on my pouting lips. “I’ve got to go Babes, I have a meeting south side and we have to make this alliance, it’s a big deal...” He says, pulling away from my lips. I sigh loudly like a child that didn’t get her way. “You know this isn’t fair, your mom and dad have taken Kai away for the first time in 6 years, and we are finally alone and you have to work.” I huff, Asher runs his hands through his light golden brown hair then pulls his jeans up. He shakes his head. “I will see you later. Don’t be mischievous today…” with that he puts his shoes on, pecks me again, and leaves. Not long after I doze off and nap for another hour. I finally get up and take a shower, I get ready to go and visit my Grandmother. Iris. 

 “what in Goddess’s name is that smell Ma?” I ask walking into her cottage, It’s a horrid scent. “Hello, dearie… It’s just a healing mixture.” She turns from her cauldron with a smile plastered on her face. My grandmother, she is one hell of a woman, Luna of the pack many moons ago, and striving as though she is only 18 years old. She likes to think of herself as the pack's witch doctor. She is a wise and caring person and has a lot of history behind her name. Her potions have always worked, she can’t bring back the dead but she can make a mating bond elixir. Which was why I was there to see her. You see, although my life was perfect and I Had the perfect Boyfriend, the pack still needed a Luna, and the only way that was going to happen is if I mated with Asher. “Are you done with the Elixir Ma?” “Be patient, child, I will be done soon, it will be Finished in one more day. Can you two wait that long?” She smiles, she always has a warm smile that made my heart churn, she looked just like my mother, she’s grey now but in her prime, she had beautiful long shiny Black hair, just like I do. She has these green eyes that if I were to describe them, it was like a fresh grass green color. She was a slender woman but with age, Her figure had changed slightly. 

I shake my head, “I suppose it won’t matter, we have waited this long…” I respond, feeling a bit anxious. I’m not sure why I’m feeling anxious today but I do. She sits on her couch near her cauldron and gestures to me to sit next to her, which I do. “You know you remind me so much of your mother. Your mother was such a great Luna, and she really loved your father and you… I can see that with Kai, and Asher… You sacrifice your true mate for the person you love. Although it is not right, I feel that it takes a lot of courage.” She says as she puts her hand on mine holding it tightly. “Mom and dad would never accept this?” I ask, worried that although it’s wrong to let go of someone that I am destined to be with and hadn’t even tried finding him.  That I would be disappointing my parents who sit in heaven watching over me. “Oh my dear, they wouldn’t love you any less… Remember, we are direct descendants of the moon goddess, and she is the one that would be disappointed. But then again everything happens for a reason and the Goddess may not approve but she wouldn’t also love you any less either…” I nod, understanding her completely. “now child, tell me what has got you on edge today?” “I don’t know Ma, I just feel that something isn’t right and that something is going to happen. I’m just feeling nervous and my wolf is going nuts…” “well maybe you are going into heat girl, You know that time of the month makes a wolf go crazy..” I smile and nod, I go into heat tomorrow night as it’s the full moon, I’m sure that’s the reason, she’s right. I give her a hug and chat some more after, watching her add herbs and odds and ends to the cauldron. I didn’t even check the time and when I did, I saw that it was time for Dinner. I said my goodbyes and made my way up to the packhouse. I was about to open the doors to the dining hall but was stopped by Asher’s Beta, Kieran. Kieran has been my best friend since I was a child he had always looked out for me. “Luna Kylie, please do not enter.” I stop dead in my tracks, “I normally eat in the dining hall with Asher, what seems to be the problem, Kieran?” I look at him puzzled but waiting for an answer. I have the power of Alpha, I can use an authoritative voice, My father was Alpha for many years, and I have power in my blood regardless of my father. So the pack always showed me respect, not because I’m dating the Alpha because I truly am one. His eyes hit the floor disappointed in a way, and I wasn’t really interested in waiting for an answer. I opened the door to find Asher, sitting with a woman at the dinner table, having a polite conversation before I rudely interrupted. “What do you want?” The brunette says to me, eyeing me venomously. “What do you want?” I responded to her. I eyed Asher questionably, But he looked away, not looking me in the eyes. Until it snapped, “you found her?” I question Asher, feeling my eyes start to tear up. “and you don’t have the decency to even call me, or wait before you bring her into mine and Kai’s home?” “ It was short notice Ky, I really wasn’t looking for her… I don’t think we should speak about this here..” He says getting up from his comfortable position. “Now this is a d**k move, Asher!” I say responding with anger.
