Hunted by my mate

PROLOGUE : 5000 years ago, the supernatural realm was completely different from what it is today, back then the supernatural world and the human world were separate. In fact it was in its own dimension and in the midst of the most horrific war ever fought in the history of the universe. The war was started by the strongest of all supernatural creatures. The dragons. Now I don’t want to paint the dragons as the villains of this story because truth be told that role belongs to someone else entirely. You see at first the dragons lived in harmony with the other creatures and the world was shared peacefully between witches, vampires, werewolves and sirens alike. But, eventually the dragons started seeing themselves as the superior species and no longer wanted to share power with their weaker neighbors. Ardius the dragon king, started to develop a taste for power and dominance and wished to rule over the entire supernatural realm. When the council of elders refused king Ardius’ ridiculous demands he flew into a fiery rage and the dragons declared war against every supernatural being, thus ending centuries of peace. The war was brutal and all of the supernatural creatures banded together to fight against the dragons. Despite their power the dragons struggled to fight against the united front their enemies presented and knew they were going to lose the war. Unable to accept defeat, King Ardius knew the only way he was going to win was if he found a way to destroy his enemies alliance. So he made a deal with the sirens, promising to rule together with them over all other supernatural creatures. The sirens agreed to the dragons deal and switched sides, joining the dragons. With the sirens as allies the dragons became an unstoppable force and nearly wiped out their enemies entirely before claiming victory. The war had a devastating effect on the witches, werewolves and vampires who were now imprisoned by their new rulers.
