Preparations

Jane fell asleep after a she ate dinner and instantly fell into the mind link she shared with Tantalus. She could hear the faint hum of the crystal had began to increase, and she looked at him as he sat there.

'Here you are again my dear, you must be very close to your first changing.' he remarked.

'Yes, my birthday is tomorrow.' she told him. And he knew this was special as it was also the full moon.

'Tell me, was the moon full on the day if your birth?' he asked curious as she smiled and nodded. 'Oh, this is remarkable indeed.' he commented as a bright flash filled the cell.

They both covered their eyes as Selene appeared before them. 'Ahh my children, you meet again' she said warmly to both of them. 'I am sorry it has taken so long my son, but it is time that had to be taken.' she said apologetically.

'What do you mean?' Jane asked her.

'Why you my dear, it has taken long for what has been done to come to fruition, and you shall be the first among your kind' Selene replied to her.

'What do you mean?' Tantalus asked frustrated. 'What is it you have done?'

'I have given you your mate, and when she changes with the moon tomorrow, your work shall be just beginning. Jane my daughter, I strongly suggest that Scarlet dress of your Mothers tomorrow. It will be so appropriate.' Selene beam as she disappeared in a flash.

'That was criptic.' Jane posted slightly as she looked at Tantalus. 'How is this going to work than?'

'I do not have all the answers my dear, I do know somehow you are special, and that for some reason that woman has decided to bond our lives together.' Tantalus replied.

'Is that a problem for you?' she asked teasing him as she felt the draw that all wolves yearned for.

'Not at all.' he said wrapping his arms around her. 'In fact I find your scent quite appetizing.' he said knowing he could really kiss her yet.

'Tomorrow my dear, I think you will be the best birthday present ever.' Jane said as the sun rose over Washington. 'I need to go.' she said severing the connection and waking up.

She walked into the bathroom and took a hot shower as her mom came in the room, carrying a scarlet dress.

"Good, your already awake. We have the seamstress coming in am hour for adjustments to your dress."

"What dress mom?" Jane asked as she stepped into the water and washed her hair, dreaming of what she wished what could happen tomorrow.

"Our family dress my dear, it has been handed down through the generations, mother to daughter." she said sincerely.

"Thanks mom, I would be honored." she said remembering what the moon goddess had said. She quickly showered knowing her mother probably had a full day planned.

She rushed out with a towel around herself, and one wrapped around her head as she saw the tray with bagels and cream cheese on it.

"Hurry up, we need to see how this fits you. Maybe we won't have to do any alterations at all." Daisy said as she prepared her own bagel and began eating it.

It didn't take Jane long to eat her bagel, or to out on the slip and dress that her mother had brought. Daisy walked up behind her and zipped the dress up snugly against Jane, and they were both surprised that it fit as though it was made for her.

"You are going to be absolutely stunning tomorrow." Daisy said with tears in her eyes.

"Thanks mom, tomorrow is going to be more amazing than anyone thinks." Jane said as she hugged her mom and the seamstress walked in.

"Ohhhh that looks beautiful, and it doesn't look like I'm gonna have to do anything to that." Susan said happily as Jane sperated from her mom.

"It seems to fit like a glove." Jane said as she twirled around. "Your absolutely right, I don't think you will have to change a thing."

Susan looked her over and admired how the dress did seem to fit her exactly as if it were made for her. "Well, my work will not be needed, not that I am complaining much, but the stylists will still be meeting you for lunch in 2 hours." she said as she walked back out so that Jane could get dressed.

She slipped into her closet quickly and took the dress off, and slid on shorts and a t-shirt. She walked out with her mom, as they went and looked for shoes that would match the dress.

That evening when she finally crashed into bed, she closed her eyes, and could instantly sense his presence. She was sure he had been there most the day, and had simply not commented. She could hear the distinct hum of the crystal through the mate link, and knew it had to be driving him mad.

'Not quite that severe yet my love. Another day of this is nothing compared to what I have already endured.' he said through the link. 'I will admit it is extremely annoying however.'

This made her smile, that even though she had yet to meet him, she felt as if she knew him intimately, and he knew her as well. Something told her that it was destined, and something amazing was going to happen tomorrow when she changed for the first time.

'Sleep my love, I promise no dreams from that awful time will disturb your rest tonight. You already now all that happened anyway.' Tantalus said through the link, and she knew he would watch through the link as she slept.

True to his word she couldn't even remember having had a dream, and the Gamma female Ingrid walked through her door as the sun rose. She peeled back the curtains to the rising sun, which made Jane bury her head in the covers.

"Time to get up, you have to help decorate." she said pulling the covers off of Jane with her wolf strength.

"Uhhh it's supposed to be my ceremony, why do I have to decorate?" she asked.

"Ohh you won't be decorating, but it is your ceremony so you have to pick what they will be, colors, and if you say pack colors I will throttle you, menu so on and so forth." Ingrid said with a devilish smile.

"Swans and full moons, scarlet and gold, prime rib with baked potatoes, potato salad, and coleslaw. Everything else can wait till noon." Jane said grumpily as she got up and went into the bathroom for a long shower.

"That wasn't so hard was it?" Ingrid asked snarkily. "That just leaves about a hundred other things on the list after you shower. Don't worry, you will be ready by the time your stylists arrive." she said as she walked out the door to Janes groan from the bathroom.

True to her word as soon as Jane got to the dining hall, there was about a hundred different things she had to decide on, and her and Ingrid sat there until after lunch going through everything. And as they sat there talking, about a dozen different Omegas would come up and grab the pages from the clipboard they needed that had those directions as the preparation went on.

"Now, I believe that is all I need, the Elders Council would like to meet with you again." Ingrid said as she stood up and motioned for Jane to do the same. She escorted Jane through the Castle, to the meeting hall that was used for occasions such as this.

When Jane walked in she noticed there were only about 6 of them there today, the rest must have been gathered.

"Welcome Jane, we thought this would be a little less formal than a full hearing. But we do have questions that we hope you can answer." Elder Thomas said nicely.

"I shall endeavor to provide what answers I can." Jane said honestly.

"Brian has informed of us of who this Tantalus is, are you sure this is his name?" Elder Stephen asked bluntly.

"Positive, and also sure that he is one and the same." Jane replied honestly.

"How can this be?" Elder Gwenth asked.

"I believe he is the son of Selene and Kronus, locked away for the last 75,000 years by the treachery of Zeus and William." Jane told them all. She had made the connection when Selene had called him son repeatedly, and she could feel his shock when she said this. 'Sorry dear, thought you caught that as well.' she said returning to the room.

"Are you able to speak with him now?" Elder Thomas asked having caught the exchange.

"Yes, we have had a few conversations." she admitted.

"How does he plan to escape his imprisonment?" Elder Michael asked thoughtfully.

"I do not know that he intends to escape at all, however I believe it is more a matter of what will happen that leads to the destruction of his prison." she said thinking on what Selene had said to them.

"And what makes you think he is linked to the moon goddess?" Elder Gweneth asked.

"That I cannot reveal without her permission." Jane said stubbornly.

"What do you believe the reaction will be?" Elder Stephen asked.

"I do not know Elders, all I am sure of is that tonight is my changing ceremony and my birthday, as I was born under this same moon 19 years ago." she told them as they were all shocked. Having your birthday on the day of your first change was extremely rare, and each incident had been documented as those wolves turned out to have some of the most power.

"Well than, let us not interfere with your party, and we look forward to bearing witness to what occurs in your future." Elder Thomas said dismissing her.
