Meeting

It took them 10 minutes to walk from the platform to Alpha Jons' office, and as soon as the three of them entered, Daisy s**t the door. Jon activated the acoustic dampening so that they would have total privacy.

"What's this about?" Jon asked his daughter as she looked through his bookcase.

"Has a person ever shared memories through the mate bond prior to ever meeting them?" she asked as she finally pulled a book from the shelf written in Archaic Wolf.

As soon as she asked the question Jons' eyes glazed over as he mind linked Brian. Jon knew a lot of things, but this question was more up his Ally.

"Why do you ask my daughter?" Daisy asked sitting next to her husband with a curious expression on her face.

Jane had pulled the book down and was looking through the first pages, and sure enough she could read it, even though it was one of the languages that had been considered dead and untranslatable by every expert in the world.

She carried it over to the desk and laid it down just as her father's eyes cleared. "The title of this book is The Perils of the War Chief." she said simply as the curious looks fell away to complete shock.

This had been one of the many things she would have learned during her change, once she regained control. And neither of her parents knew what to say.

"How do you...?" Jon trailed off as he couldn't wrap his mind around it. The Elders and Alphas were the only ones ever taught it, and it fell to each Alpha to train their Heir.

"Know?" Jane asked as they both nodded and Brian knocked on the door. After a few seconds Jane realized her parents were too shocked to answer, so she walked over and opened the door.

Brian took one look at the Alpha and Luna, before he looked at Jane. "What did you do to make this happen?" Brian asked as both of their eyes glazed over.

"Asked them a question, and than made a statement." she said vaguely as her parents talked in the mind link.

"What was the question?" Brian asked knowing it may be a few more minutes.

"Has anyone ever experienced memory sharing through the mate bond prior to meeting them?" Jane asked again as her parents eyes cleared.

"Once, why would you ask?" Brian asked her as her parents mouths hung open.

"Who?" Jon demanded.

"William." Brian said lowering his head as he said the name. "He was the first War Chief, and his second mate could share his memories a few days before she changed for the first time. Why do you ask?"

"Because I had two 'Visions' on the train home." she said using air quotes on Vision. "Afterward I could read that book, and this one."

She laid the book that she had been given by Professor Gerhardt. The three of them could read the title, and knew they had never seen this book The Final Days. It also was written in Archaic Wolf, as each of the were written not long after the Titan Wars ended.

"What were these visions of?" Brian asked holding a hand to stop Jon for a moment.

She tapped her finger on the book she had been given. "So far this book, about Tantalus and the last days of the Titan Wars." she told them before flinging herself into the chair.

"But William died a long time ago." Jon said. "Driven mad by the deaths of his mates."

"I don't think it is William she is linking with, for you are correct in that he is dead Alpha." Brian said as he was a wolf historian and knew differently, as did Jane.

"He killed his mates and was punished by Selene with Madness." Jane said rubbing her temples as she developed a headache. She was glad she would never have one again in a few days.

All three of them looked at her, her parents shocked and Brian surprised.

"I am a Historian as well as an Anthropologist." she said without looking at any of them. "Would I be able to learn something like, say a language, through this link and these visions?" she asked Brian as she opened her eyes and looked at him.

"I don't know." was all he could say. "But if it is the mate link you are experiencing, and he knows of the Titan Wars, he will be a powerful ally."

"I will need to consult the Elders about this, let us go to the feast and celebrate the return of the future Luna." Jon said standing.

Jane grabbed her book and stuffed it back in her bag. "Fine, but I am going to change first."

Jane had just come back to her room several hours later, and was peeved she had a meeting with the Elders before she even had her Changing Ceremony. Oh wait, it would be her Luna Ceremony because her father was stepping down as well.

He was the oldest Alpha by a long ways, as he and mom hadn't been able to have her until they were both in their late 30s. They were both nearing 60 now, and Jon had to rely on Brian for more and more of the warrior duties. This was why Jane had trained so hard to master the martial arts.

She opened her bag, and grabbed the book as she lay down to read and sleep. The elders wouldn't arrive until noon and her meeting was at 2 so she wasn't worried about falling asleep. As soon as she turned to the next chapter the vision started right where it had left off.

As soon as she slid the sword into Atlas' shoulder, his spear slowed considerably and she transformed. Except for falling to all 4 as a normal werewolf, she remained standing on two legs, and drew another sword from across her back that for her hand just right.

"No Atlas, now the true battle shall begin" she snarled as he pulled the sword from his shoulder and looked at her.

"It is funny you think that this form will suit you any better than the last." Atlas taunted as she launched an attack way faster than he had anticipated.

Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon each backed off as they knew they would only interfere in the battle that was now occuring.

Atlas had gone from holding his own with the spear against the four of them, to barely being able to keep up with Tantalus in this form. His sword was a blur to even the Olympians as he battered away at Atlas.

For hours they fought back and forth near the gates of Tartarus neither able to get the upper hand. And the Olympians and Titans alike were only able to watch as the two clashed. Their battle was so intense that each was little more than a blur while they fought. Not even magic could penetrate the clash of these two weapons and moves, Athena had cast several spells and missed with each and had one knocked back at her before she stopped.

Sparks flew from their weapons with each strike, and any that attempted to intervene was summarily killed and trampled by them. They were moving so fast that none of them knew who did what to who, because Titan or Olympian was treated the same. As the sun began to set in the sky, the Full Moon began to rise, and she felt the power of it as she howled to it while continuing to fight.

The chorus of the wolves joined as they took up the howl, and suddenly a piece of Atlas' spear imbedded itself into the ground at Zeus' feet. It was the bottom few inches of the spear, and she knew instantly he was thrown off now that his weapon was imbalanced. For the first time in the fight, Atlas was sent flying through the air to crash into several trees that were dozens of feet thick. The first he hit exploded with the force of the impact, and the second he slammed into cracked and began swaying, even though the wind was dead calm.

She used a powerful spell, and drug Atlas the several hundred yards back to where they were fighting, and renewed her attack on the powerful Titan. Atlas was able to recover quickly, and they both moved as a blur as their battle continued for several more hours. But as the moon reached it's pinnacle, it's power began to come forth, and the werewolves that Tantalus had accidentally created were suddenly linked to her, and she grew another foot in height with the increased power, and smacked Atlas so hard he flew right into the Maw of Tartarus, and was sucked in like a tornado.

Just before he vanished, Atlas loosed his spear, just as Tantalus raised his maw and began his howl of victory. The spear imbedded itself perfectly in her shoulder and sent her flying through the air, cutting the connection to the other wolves as the moon passed the Pinnacle.

Just as she landed, she felt the powerful shock of a lightning bolt striking her, paralyzing all of her senses as snarls of betrayal eminated. Before she could react her two best friends and companions, Dartanion and Emma attacked the Olympians. The other Wolves moved to join when William stopped them all with the War Chiefs Command.

Poseidon intercepted the two, and quickly killed them both, as she watched in horror as Zeus continued to strike her with a bolt every few seconds. The last of the Titans attempted to flee, some of them escaping, but most of them being thrown into the Maw of Tartarus locked away forever. Or so they thought.

Zeus forced Tantalus into bonds, driving stakes through her joints to prevent her from healing. "Take this beast to the dungeons, I will be along shortly." he ordered his sons.

"Haphestus, seal this Prison in so many layers none will be able to enter it again." Zeus ordered as he disappeared on a bolt of lightning.

Jane woke up with the sun in a cold sweat, as she realized whose memories she was sharing. And she knew that what was going to occur in two nights was going to be nothing short of a miracle.

Meanwhile far above her, at the base of Olympus, his eyes finally opened after 50,000 years. Tantalus had awoken with that dream, as he had not thought of that moment in a long time. As he sniffed the air, the most amazing scent of Strawberry and Maple hit his nose. He knew instantly who was calling as he looked down from his prison. Just as he spied her he heard the faint hum of the crystal that formed his prison.

He smiled as he looked around and noticed there were no guards to hear what was happening. If they had he knew that Zeus would have already had him incapacitated again. He smiled as he thought back on his recent dreams and closed his eyes.

Without meaning too he connected to her mind again, as she walked to the meeting with the elders that she had been summoned too.

She walked quickly into the Meeting Hall that the council had set up in. Every single elder had come, wanting to hear what was happening with her.

"Good afternoon Elders Council." Jane said as she took her seat at the foot of the table.

"Good afternoon Jane, we would like to bring this hearing to an opening. We understand you believe you have been sharing memories with a potential mate?" Elder Thomas asked her.

"I believe so yes. It would be the only way I already know how to read Archaic Wolf." she told them seriously.

"That would mean your mate is or will be an Alpha of the packs." Elder Stephen commented.

"I do not think so sir, who among the Alphas knows about the Titan Wars as if he lived it?" she asked remembering the last memory she had. "I do not know who this person is, but I believe what I am experiencing is more omen than I wish to know." Jane told them.

"What do you mean young one?" Elder Stacy asked.

"Williams mate Darlene was the only other wolf that experienced the mate link prior to her change." Brian said from behind Alpha Jon who has attended as well. He was shocked by what she had said.

"Have you had another vision, my daughter?" he asked her. He had had to send someone to wake her as she had not before the meeting.

Jane nodded her head. "Yes, I did experience another." she said with a tear in her eye as she remembered. Suddenly she felt him, as if he was here in the room with her, sharing the experience of it. And she knew she was right as the shock of it surprised him. 'I feel you, what is your name?' she asked without saying a word. but her eyes had glazed pure white, as she linked with his mind.

'Tantalus, what is yours my beautiful lady.' he replied as he swept her mind in front of him and he showed her down.

'Jane, what is this?' she asked.

'My prison, where I have been for more millennia than I care to count. But that will all change in the next few days.' he told her as he began pacing. He had not been expecting this, and she saw his wolf form sleeping on the floor.

'So those were your memories?' she asked and he knew what she meant.

'Yes, the most painful betrayal I have ever experienced.' he said as his mind flashed over what he had seen after he had been locked away. She saw the flashes of the wars that humans and wolves had gone through. All because of the betrayal of William and the madness of Zeus.

'I am sorry, but I have a feeling another war is coming?' she asked him.

'I feel it as well, and it all has something to do with you.' he said simply. 'You should go now, the Elders are probably freaking about now' he said as he severed the link and she returned to the table.

"That has never occurred before." Brian commented. "Who is he?"

Jane swallowed hard and closed her eyes for a moment as the room swirled around her and the memories she had experienced as he had watched the entire war between man and wolf. "Tantalus." was all she managed to say.

"Who is Tantalus?" Elder Thomas asked.

"Are you sure?" Brian asked as he stood there with a dumbstruck look on his face.

Jane managed to nod that yes, she was sure. "Tantalus, that's his name."

"Sir, how much do you know of the Titan Wars?" Brian asked and most around the room shook their heads.

"Most believe that William, the first War Chief of the Wolf Nation was the first. However there is some evidence that he was not the first, and in fact was only Gamma during the Titan Wars." Brian explained as shock swept through most of the Elders. "Tantalus is believed to be the first, not werewolf, but True Lycan. If it is him, this is indeed a bad omen."

Most of the Elders had no clue what it would mean when Tantalus would be freed in two days time. Jane didn't exactly know what it meant either.

"I propose a war council, we need to begin preparation for what is likely to come." Alpha Jon said. He didn't know what prompted this, but he had a gut feeling that what he was doing was right.

"I agree daddy, when his prison breaks, Zeus himself is going to lose his shit." Jane said as she finally found her voice.

"I do not agree with a war council, however we will have to have an Alphas gathering. Dragonian Pack will host." Elder Stephen said adjourning the meeting.
