Alphas Meeting

Jane woke with a start as she couldn't remember how she had gotten back to her room with Todd. She woke to him packing a bag, he prepared to depart the next morning for something he was hiding from her. She knew it was very personal for him, and she could see the face of a man she didn't know anytime she looked through the link. "How long will you be gone?" she asked as she finished waking up. "A few days to a week at most." Todd said as he finished his packing and came out of the closet. "Will you manage without me for that long?" he asked teasing her. "Oh, I think I can manage to suffer being separated for you from that long. Will you be able to manage to actually stay away for that long?" she teased him back as she kissed his neck wrapping her arms around him. She pressed her body against his back as there was a knock at the door. They were expecting the Alphas to show up by 9 am for a breakfast meeting. That was likely to last most of the day. "Ma'am, the first Alpha has arrived at the gates." Brian said at the door. "Open the gates and allow the Alphas entrance." Jane replied as she pulled herself away and walked to her closet. She quickly dressed, and her and Todd walked to the entryway to greet the guests as they arrived as it was now 0730. By the time the first Alpha had arrived, there were a dozen more in cars right behind him. The procession lasted for the entire hour and a half, as they all arrived at nearly the same time. All 39 Packs had sent an envoy, and there was only a few minutes left as they turned into the hall. Both of them managed to make it to their seats at the high table of the Hall, as the gong rang for all assembled to gather for the meal. The kitchen Omegas quickly brought out the dozens of plates for the Alphas and Betas of the 39 clans. It took over an hour for the three courses of the meal to be served and devoured by all of them. Jane rose to her feet, and the Alphas took a breath as she walked to the center to address them all. The men were shocked, but none of them had been introduced to Todd as Alpha, but as her mate. "What is the meaning of this? Luna's have no standing at this council." Alpha Jacob Green of the BlackWing Pack demanded. As soon as he said the words he felt her very powerful Alpha aura begin eminating from her on waves. Hers had made most of the Alphas there shiver as they knew she was powerful now. "None of you were introduced to my mate as Alpha, that title belongs to me until we complete the mating ceremony. If there are no further challenges to my speaking may we continue?" she asked glaring at Alpha Green. "I withdraw my challenge." he said as he sat down and she stood at the raised center. "Thank you, my fellow Alphas welcome to my home. I wish the circumstances were different, but as you all know the Blood Moon has brought I'll omens with it." Jane began her speech as Todd shut the hall from where he stood and the fire ignited. It smoked just as he wanted, that he forced to gather around her. "First and foremost, magic has returned to our world, and with it a danger we have long forgotten. We have long forgotten about The Titan Wars, that our race was created specifically to help Zeus and the Olympians to defeat the Titans." Jane said as the smoke morphed into the different forms of figures, depicting some of the battles that had occured that featured the Wolves and Humans battling together. "We face the gods of old themselves, and if we are to survive what is to come, we must return to the ways of old and elect a War Chief that can lead the armies of the Packs as we prepare for War!" Jane shouted as some of them laughed. "You think you could lead the packs little girl?" Alpha Green challenged. "If you are prepared to endorse me for War Chief, who would I be to refuse. I say this as it is my Pack that has been shown the path forward. If you believe me incapable of taking it, I will accept any challenge. For all Packs under our Ancient Laws will be required to submit to the War Chief and follow his or her orders." Jane said as her voice raised. "If we follow the Ancient Rights we shall allow any pack that wishes to challenge for the position of War Chief." Elder Stephen said reminding them all that what Jane had suggested could no longer be ignored. "As of now we must hold a vote as War Chief is premature. "What Luna Jane says is true, the Blood Moon brings terrible portents with it, and unless you all are blind to the events of the world, Magic has returned. However we must be prudent before our entire Nation takes the drastic action of preparing for war." Stephens said joining Jane on the dias. "All of us know what the Ancient Text says of the Blood Moon, and any Pack that was not prepared for this was believing foolishly. I second the motion for War and a Challenge for War Chief." Alpha Green said as he stood. "Very well, all those in Favor of preparing the Packs for war?" Elder Thomas called. 30 of the Alphas joined Jane and Jacob standing in and around the dias as Elder Stephens nodded his head. "Very well, by the Ancient Rites of Wolf Law, those that wish to challenge for the position of War Chief shall remain standing." Elder Thomas called in a serious tone as 20 of them sat almost in unison. Jane looked around as she saw 11 of the other Alphas standing to challenge her. As she had called for the vote, she would be required to stand as the first Challenger. The odds stacked against her, as she would have to stand against all 11 of them one at a time. "In the past it was required the one who called for the vote would stand against a challenger. However we will not be using that method, with an even dozen each shall draw a random number and it will be a single elimination bracket." Elder Sarah said as she stood from her table. "The drawing shall take place in 20 minutes at the Festival Grounds." she ordered them all. 20 minutes later the elders had arranged the 12 Alphas in 2 lines and one of them walked down each line with a deep hate that they mixed well after the tiles were added. Each Alpha that was standing for the challenge had a tile before any of them looked, and Anna saw that she held the number 1. Alpha Green smiled as he showed his tile to her, also bearing the number 1. She would battle him first and she smiled at her good fortune. He was the favorite to win the Challenge Series as he was the leader of the largest pack in the country. They each made their way to the arena that was there, and knew that it was a fight to the death unless one of them submitted. "We all know the rules of combat, may the best wolf win!" Elder Stephen called as the gong tolled signaling the beginning of the battle. Jacob didn't shift, but used his speed to run at her quickly, and she smiled as she watched as if he was moving in slow motion. He thought he had her beat until she moved her head to the side at the last second, and she blocked his next strike with her arm as her smile grew. She let him throw his quick punches, dodging and blocking every one of them when she finally found an opening and planted her foot square into his jaw with a roundhouse kick. The crowd was absolutely amazed as Jacob Green slammed into the Arena wall and slid down it unconscious. Jane roared her victory without ever even partially changing, her howl as clear as if she was fully transformed. She walked from the arena as the medical personnel rushed to Alpha Green and began examining him. Blood was dripping from his ears from the force of her kick, and she smiled as she watched the boards change with her advancing to the next round. She grabbed a bottle of water and walked to the Competitors area as she waited for the other 5 matches to take place. She had wished she had gotten to face all 11 of them, but was glad she would have several matches at least. She would have the opportunity to showcase why she would be an excellent War Chief. She heard the crowd cheer, as all wolves had been welcomed to come watch, and the local wolves were broadcasting it as required under the new regulations of all Alpha Meetings. She waited for over an hour before the Elders came in, and the six Competitors stood. "For your lines." Elder Thomas ordered. There were 4 wolves in one line, and 2 in the other. They placed 4 placards in each hat, and let the line with 2 draw first as they would each have match. She waited impatiently for each of the others draw their card, and was glad when she drew one of the numbers the others held. Alpha Thomas Kincaid held her matching marker, each if them holding a 2, and as the lowest match they battled first. Since Green had been knocked out by her, he had become the favorite and she could see why. He was massive at 6'6" tall, and weighed in at 330 pounds. She smiled as she thought she looked like a bug to him at 5'10" and 140 pounds sopping wet. She led the way into the Arena, until he marched past and stormed through the door first. She was gonna enjoy this as he seemed to think this fight with her was beneath him. None of the other Alphas were aware of the training she had gone through and thought she would be a pushover. She smiled as they both settled on their mark before the gong sounded beginning the second round of matches. The Alphas went wild when they saw who would be fighting, as the bets began to show Kincaid as the favorite to win. "I will give ya three chances to surprise me before I throw you into the gong to end our match." Jane told his quite seriously. Her statement made him roar with laughter as she settled into her dancing crane stance. A few of the Alphas recognized it as one of the best defensive forms that existed in the martial arts world. Thomas slowly approached as he didn't recognize anything about her stance as he wasn't familiar with Aikido. He did practice a few forms of Martial Arts, and he put his Muy Thai to good use. He attacked for a solid minute before he heard her laughing in the middle of his vicious assault, the other Alphas barely able to follow the moves used as he finally let up. "What are you laughing at?" he asked as he opened a gap between them. "Strike 1, Muy Thai is too popular now a days." she said still laughing. He came in quickly with Hapkido this time and she laughed from the moment he began. She knew what his third was likely to be, as he seemed to love to strike. His form was excellent, but he was not prepared for an opponent that could flow through his aggression and not strike, as she had seen multiple openings that she could have struck. He pulled back after nearly another minute of straight attack, that he pulled back and just looked at her with his head c****d as he hadn't laid a finger on her. He knew she was playing with him now, and he was about to submit despite what it would look like when she spoke. "Last chance, if your next form is Krav Maga you should know I won't be surprised." she taunted as she took the stance he was familiar with. There weren't many defensive stances for Krav Maga, but Thomas recognized it as soon as she placed her feet and hands. He knew the real fight was on now, and he intended to see how he stood up. He had never been bested so well by anyone, not even Jacob Green. If he was going to submit to her, she would have to earn it now. He came in with a quick series of strikes, and knew almost instantly that he was no match for her. He was barely able to deflect her blows as this form believed the best defense was a good offense. She had in fact not been surprised as this was his third form. For 5 minutes they moved with amazing speed, and suddenly Thomas shifted as she flew away from him in a back flip. He was also flying, but only a few of the Alphas had seen the she launched herself off of him and had sent him flying over the wall. He crashed straight into the gong and fell unconscious as she landed, before he changed back with a few of his bones broken. The Alphas knew she was now the one to be careful of, as she had eliminated both of the Top Contenders for Strength and Speed. She had sent them both flying, and so far as they could tell had not suffered a scratch. The ones that had bet on her were ecstatic because they had won small fortunes on the bets they had taken against Alpha Kincaid. The medics managed to reach him quickly, even though they had been stationed by the Arena entrances. She walked back into the Competitors area and sat back in the chair she had left several minutes before. She had closed her eyes, and didn't notice the other competitors kneeling before her, their fists over their heart in the formal sign of surrender. Elder Stephen called the next match twice before Elder Thomas looked and cleared his throat making Jane look at what was going on. "War Chief Jane, if you will accompany me back into the Arena?" Elder Thomas asked. "I accept your submission, please rise." Jane said after she had stood. "Yes, we will follow you to the Arena." she said as she followed a few places behind him.
