Alone at Last

Jane and Tantalus led the run at a respectable pace for wolves, when one of the warriors decided to make it a race. "How do you mean moon goddess?" Elder Stephens asked.

"The Luna is correct, war is on your door, and if you fail to prepare you shall be swept away as if you don't exist. Magic returns to this realm, and the Olympian Wars are upon us at last." Selene said as if it were a matter of fact as she walked to Jane and Tantalus.

"My dearest Todd, how I wish you had been given a better life. Alas your brother cannot be satisfied with the power he already has, and demands we take action against him. Yet I wish I could see his face when he realizes he is the harbinger of his own destruction." Selene said as she caressed Jane's cheek. "If he had known that he would one day create the very thing he should not have, would he have done what he did?" she pondered as Tantalus recovered from what she said.

"Why do you call me Todd?" he asked her.

"Because that is the name that I gave you my child. Your brother may have given you that silly name of Tantalus, but your name has so much more meaning than that. Todd my son, when you realize the power you hold, Zeus shall finally fear what he has done to you. But you need to find forgiveness in your heart when you learn the full truth that he has hidden from you for all this time.

"Elder Stephen, I assume that will be enough to call a war council?" Jon asked of him as they all recovered from what they saw.

"At this point, it would be foolish to ignore the direct words of the Moon Goddess. We will call the War Council, sound the horn, alert all Wolves to prepare for war!" Elder Stephens voice rang out.

"Elder Stephens, I believe it is time we call for a Conclave under Section 1 of The Treatise." Jane said loudly over the noise that had risen. Suddenly you could hear a pin drop in the Festival Grounds where they had gathered.

"Agreed young Luna, we shall indeed call for a Conclave. Prepare your Pack, for should the humans agree, they shall arrive here in 5 days." Elder Stephens said.

A few hours later Jane finally got to go back to her room. Her parents were escorting her and Todd upstairs. Jane went to walk into her old room, and noticed that absolutely everything had been removed, and this room looked like it wasn't used.

"Mom, what is going on?" Jane asked as she turned to the sound of her parents laughing.

"We have been preparing this for weeks my daughter, our bags are packed at the door, and your things have been moved into the Alpha and Luna quarters. Only seems appropriate now that you are Luna." Daisy said wrapping her in a hug.

"We will get our things and leave you kids be. It is time I had a true vacation for the first time in 30 years." Jon said as they walked to the Alphas quarters, and sure enough there were two suitcases sitting next to the door.

"Have fun mom and dad, I am sure we will get into the swing of things here." Jane said waving to them as they picked up their bags.

"I shall ensure she stays safe with the rest of the pack." Todd said to them. They had all decided, especially him, that he would not use the name Tantalus anymore.

"Thank you Todd, we are glad she found you so soon." Daisy said truly glad as she saw the love in her daughter's eyes. "Well my daughter, rely on those that you must, and always remember he is here to help. Let him take care of his needs and help him when necessary." Daisy said to her knowing she would try to do it all herself.

After she said that Daisy and Jon both lifted their bags and descended the stairs for the last time. This was now her and Todd's quarters, and they were quite sizeable for just the two of them now.
