Chapter One  Megan's Point of View I was in the kitchen cooking dinner for me and Rory then the front door opened and the sounds of running feet came to wards me. Smiling, knowing straight away who it was, I turned and waited for her to appear. When she did, she had a giant smile on her face. 'MUMMY!!!!' She screamed as she ran right up to me. I picked her up and spun her around before holding her to my body, hugging her. 'Hey honey, Did you have a fun time with Auntie Danni and Anna Lin today?' I asked. Danni had decided to take the girls to the new theme park that had opened up down by the beach. I wanted her to get her mind off things. She had been going through a lot recently.  'Yeah! Me and Anna lin went on the bumper cars and the roller coaster and the spinning wheel and had cotton candy and hot dogs and-' 'Wow, you sure were busy today. I hope you’re not gonna be too exciting to sleep. 'Why do you go to the front room and watch some cartoons while I finish dinner, Yeah?' She smiled and I set her back down. She ran off through the house into the front room. This house was too big for just the two of us. Me and Adam bought it a few months before they went away. It just feels empty with out him, but I have to stay Strong for Rory. Finishing dinner quickly, I set it out on the dining room table and went to find Rory. She wasn't in the front room, which was weird. I looked all down stairs for her, but she wasn't there. 'Rory?' I called out, but she didn't answer. 'Rory?' I went up the stairs, trying not to panic. I called again as I started looking around to see if she was up there, she wasn't in her room or the bath room. I checked my room last And found her. She was curled up in Adam's walk in closet by his shirts. She often did this when she missed him a lot. I walked over to her and picked her up. 'Honey, are you tired?' She looked up, really sad but shook her head. 'What's wrong? Do you miss daddy?' 'Yes,' My heart sank. 'Will he be home soon mummy?' I didn't want to lie to my daughter, but I couldn't see her this upset. 'Soon, Baby, he will be home soon. Do you want to sleep in mummy and daddy's bed tonight?' She smiled quickly and nodded, I loved her smile. She got it from her dad. Her little dimples poking out, her hazel eyes. She got most of Adam’s looks, all his best ones. She was beautiful.  Looking at her, I instantly felt guilty, having had to lie to her,  telling Rory Adam will be home soon wasn’t true. He wouldn’t be… and he wouldn’t be for a very, very long time.  'Mummy, I'm hungry' I smiled at her and we headed down stairs to eat.
