Mission from the Gnomes

Dan was surprised when the elder of the elves agreed to Tom's participation in a meeting with important persons of the Community. "It suits us fine, young man. Even more satisfying to us is the opportunity to get a closer look at such a brilliant gift from the gods. The Unexpected Legacy. I'm already considering ways to get this skill into my spell collection," smiled Alrond. Koreima furrowed her eyebrows. She didn't like the insolent clone. But the girl understood that the phantom was part of her delicious Dan. And any attempt on the young man's persona was unpleasant to her. "You're not the only one considering the importance of possessing this Legacy," the vampiress hissed. Alrond looked at the young daughter of the Night with disdain and coldness. He had no desire to be distracted by a figure who was unworthy of attention. This daughter of the Kor clan was weak and lacked self-control. The elf thought she would lose her influence over this interesting young man very soon. Dan felt it was now time for more pleasant activities. He put his palm on the vampires' hand and asked his girlfriend to calm down. "Koreima, I invite you to finish our business. In my room, we will be free to discuss the rest of our interesting matters." "Yes! We have more interesting matters that require immediate consideration," the vampiress said defiantly and grinned toward the elf. Alrond and Tom shook their heads. At that, the elf showed a calmer and more dignified behavior. The clone did not restrain himself. "Go and attend to your foolishness. You are too unstable to participate in a serious affair. Lord Alrond, thank you for your attention, I am willing to follow with you to clarify the many issues of our existence in the Community," the clone calmly offered. "Don't be so stern," smiled Alrond. "This couple has a right to enjoy the violent flow of life. Come, phantom, let us not insult my colleagues with our inattention." The elf and the clone stood up and walked out of the Cozy Burrow Hall. "Ugh! I don't like elves. But this elf is disgusting to the extreme," the vampiress admitted. She saw the young man's surprised look and clarified her attitude. "I can feel the blood flowing. Elves are very unpleasant. Don't you laugh, but they feel like very intelligent trees. I respect the power of the gods of Nature. All life is worthy of respect and consideration. This elf is cold and his blood is like water in a swamp. It is very unpleasant to be around such a creature." "Let's go to my room," Dan smiled. "I hope no one will disturb us there. I missed you too quickly. You've bewitched me. And I don't believe you didn't use ancient vampire magic to do it." "Stop making up nonsense," the vampiress blushed. She stood up and threatened the young man. "You're using strange magic yourself. I can't figure out how it works yet. But your blood bothers me too much. Let's go and take care of our business." Dan was glad to engage in some pleasant entertainment in the company of his girlfriend. He once had a strange thought that Koreima had made a mistake. This daughter of the Night was a strong young sorceress of a strong nation. But she had chosen an unconventional target for herself. Dan was sure that he could keep his connection to a strong vampiress under control. And he knew very well that he could be much stronger and more dangerous than she was. He was the one who could do things that this two-hundred-year-old vampiress was incapable of doing.   ***   The vampiress and the young man lay naked and delighted in their feelings. Koreima was getting dizzy with pleasure and a strange sense of omnipotence. She often bit her lover and took little sips of his blood. The young man paid no attention to her displays of passion. The Healing spell helped with all kinds of troubles and was great for restoring strength and health. This strange spell restored energy for a while. There was a knock at the door of the room and a soft voice made a statement. "Human Dan. An important gnome named Grograb wishes to meet you in the hall." The messenger then quickly fled and did not dare disturb the important visitor of the Cozy Burrow. "That's interesting," Dan admitted. "It seems important to me and I want to talk to this gnome. Such matters must be dealt with quickly and immediately. We have a strange and unpleasant conflict behind us." "Ask them to get me some hot water in the bathroom. I want to clean myself up," murmured the Vampiress. She wasn't interested in the gnomes and the conflicts left behind in Grossroads. "It'll be just as you want it, dear," the young man agreed and got out of bed. He quickly dressed and left the room. The mistress of the place was a very important person. Master Grey Claw did not spend time in the common hall. Mouse spent most of her time in the kitchen and made her brews and dishes according to special recipes. Also experienced in intrigue, Mouse often left the establishment to meet her acquaintances. Dan asked the servant to bring hot water to his room and to fulfill his guest's other requests. This was customary for a servant. The young man looked around the hall and immediately saw a familiar gnome. Grograb was seated at the table in the company of several gnomes and looked intently at the human who had given him much trouble. Those troubles seemed unimportant to him now. In this world, all his former life had lost meaning. The gnome felt strange. He was angry and dissatisfied. No one was interested in him anymore. His title had lost meaning. His skills had become weakened and he needed to take care of restoring his skills in the first place. But the gnome nation did not keep important details of Grograb's existence in this world from him. Deepwood angered the gnome with his routines. And the conflict with the young human looked ridiculous against the backdrop of new problems. Dan approached the table and nodded respectfully to his old acquaintance. "I am glad to see you, Lord Grograb. It's a pleasure to meet a representative of the Grossroads in this place." "Sit down and don't spoil my appetite. Have a drink of this excellent brew. The mistress of this place is an excellent craftsman. You know how to find places where you can recover your strength perfectly. And don't call me lord," the ancient gnome wrinkled his face. He didn't like the subject. Dan sat down at the table. Gnome's companions immediately stood up and went in different directions. The young man enjoyed watching the gnome's concern for privacy. Grograb placed a crystal on the table, which began to shine with a blue light. A special sphere appeared above the table of the two interlocutors. It was a perfect artifact for important negotiations. Such artifacts prevented eavesdropping and spying on important details of the conversation. "Thank you for the opportunity to speak directly and sincerely," Dan said softly. "Grograb, you are a lord. You are an important and powerful gnome who has excellent skills and experience of life. I know that in this world the gods do not allow the establishment of a peaceful authority for all nations. But to me, you will always remain a lord. A very dangerous and important person who wants to take advantage of me. I listen to you." The gnome laughed and shook his head. It amused him to find respect in this place for rebels and infiltrators. To him, the Community was a place where spies and representatives of the interests of the other two cities resided. The local mice stayed out of politics and power-sharing. The residents of Community were happy to mine valuable resources and produce valuable artifacts. Grograb was not surprised when he learned that the human had found sanctuary in this place. "I have one important proposition for you. I know your history. You were involved in a very complicated combination and dared to disrupt the order in Grossroads. All you did was for a valuable drawing. I took a risk and concluded that you are willing to do a lot for valuable drawings to develop Blacksmithing," the gnome nodded his thoughts and took a sip from the cup. He looked at Baron Raven and saw that the young man was in agreement and nodded his head to confirm the accuracy of Lord Grograb's words. "The case is very dangerous. The interests of all the clans are affected. I want you to infiltrate the vampire city and bring me an ancient drawing. It is a drawing that helps especially restore health. It's part of the wisdom of the gnomes. The vampires stole this drawing from us. I want to gain influence in Deepwood. Return the drawing and you will be rewarded by the clans." Dan would be surprised to see an offer from the game system appear before his eyes.   [Warning. The quest to Return the Ancient Treasure is available. Rank 7 - Purple. Composition of the group: unlimited. Time: unlimited. Reward: A set of epic rank drawings to develop Blacksmithing skills. +100 reputation with the gnome clans of the Deepwood. Unknown. Do you accept the mission? Yes/No]   Working from the hints of the game system had always been easy and made special meaning. Dan saw an important element in the description of the quest and hastened to clarify the situation. "The cause is worthy and I like the idea of doing the will of the gods of your nation. It's only fair. But I am not satisfied with the moment of reward. Grograb. This is a dangerous task. I want a more valuable reward. The drawings that had value in Grossroads in this place do not have the same price. More accurately, they are free for sale and I am satisfied with the price. Are you willing to increase the reward?" Grogrub laughed and acknowledged with pleasure that this person had an understanding of the values of the world. He was a man to be dealt with. "I assure you that you can acquire a copy of the great drawing. But on the condition that you are worthy to master it. Such is the suggestion of my acquaintances. Though I prefer the idea that you leave this world quickly. I don't trust you. You're too strange." Dan Raven smiled and saw that he could now expect to receive a most important bonus. A drawing that helps restore one percent of his health in one minute. It was an epic property. Only serious dungeon bosses had this kind of recovery. Normal players restored one point of health in one minute. The issue didn't matter. Players had healing spells on their side. But being able to regenerate more powerful was important. At the very least, it's an opportunity to earn significant new amounts of gold. Now the mission made sense and the man was eager to take part in the new adventure. He was curious to see the city of vampires and orcs.
