Spider's Den

1678 Words
Entering the new dungeon was a familiar business for the three swordsmen. Elina squeezed her eyes shut as she took a step into the flickering spot of the portal. She smelled an unfamiliar scent. It was the smell of a dungeon that was wet and there was something unpleasant about the smell. The setting looked like some floors in the tower of destiny. The walls were not of stone. Elina could see that roots and unfamiliar moss were growing on the earthen walls. The moss was different shades of green and glowed with an even light. Two figures of short hobbits appeared next to Dan. The braves immediately began to look around and to talk softly but quickly. Their constant arguments had a calming effect on the princess. Tom drew a strangely shaped sword. It was a long and curved blade. The clone said that this sword was called a katana and that such swords were used by warriors from the human homeworld. Dan grinned and nodded his head when he saw the familiar announcement.   [Warning. You have visited the location of the Spider's Den. You receive a temporary revival point. Do you accept the temporary revival point? Yes/No. Have a nice game!]   "Tom, I will have the opportunity to be reborn in this place. That's convenient," said the young man. "You won't have the opportunity to be reborn," laughed the clone. "I won't let you die. Hello, gluttons and blabbers! This is our first dungeon in this world. Pay close attention. Stones in your hands and keep your eyes wide open. Spiders are lurking up ahead." "Spiders are nasty. They spit sticky cobwebs," whispered the princess. "Spiders are poisonous and cowardly. They all have weak defenses but know how to attack with venom," Tom gave a quick instruction. "Elina and Dan stick together and don't rush into battle. Let's test the quality of our opponents. Hobbits, back me up." The clone went forward down the narrow corridor of the dungeon. He did not like such places. Too little light and space for a full-fledged sword fight. It was a good place to practice. Spiders rarely attack an adventurer in twos. It can only happen in a place where several corridors cross. Ahead flashed a large dark mass that separated slightly from the tunnel wall. "Contact!" Tom quickly ran forward and drew his sword to strike. The spider began the familiar duel. The animal leaned on its hind legs and raised the front of its body. Two long, thick paws threatened with strong claws. Spit flew toward the warrior. Tom saw the greenish color of the venom that dripped from the fangs on the monster's face. Elina stared with excitement at the brave swordsman who delivered a swift and powerful blow. A scarlet flash illuminated the tunnel and the spider hissed in pain. Above the monster's head numbers showed. The damage was severe and gave the enemy no chance of survival. -759. But for the final victory, the clone needed to deliver a second swift blow. The warrior's blade glowed a darker red light for a moment. -31. The warrior's blow was too weak. The spider had time to paw at the clone's armor. Its large, sharp claws were able to pierce the metal of the armor and did nearly two hundred damage to Tom. The princess frowned as she saw two figures mark the warrior's wounds. In the next moment, the phantom made another swift attack. His blade flashed like a bright flash of silver. A precise blow to the spider's head severed most of the monster's head. -190. The animal immediately stopped fighting and its large corpse fell to the dungeon floor. "Dan, renew me. I've caught the poison! Hobbits, on guard," the clone threw his sword to the tunnel ground. A moment later, parts of the warrior's equipment fell to the ground with a clang. The new phantom appeared beside the young man and immediately went forward to pick up his equipment from the ground. Elina greeted the appearance of Baron Raven's mighty Legacy with admiration. This magic had always given her a special feeling. The clone leisurely and softly shared the calculations of the first fight. "A great place to get to know your weaknesses. Everything looks unpleasant. I have a Strength of 53 points and my sword does 42 points of damage. Total simple physical damage is 95 points. Rage of Ars is working to its full potential. Thank you, patron," the clone bowed shallowly and raised his katana to the ceiling. "759 points of damage from the first attack," Dan remarked. "Great! With the second attack, I took advantage of Master Kornelius' attack. Cut of Kornelius couldn't kill the creature. I had to use Terrifying Strike to finish off the spider in three strikes," the clone explained. "The Master's attack only dealt 30 points of damage!" Dan hastened to voice his confusion. "Only twelve percent damage! Our skills have lost their meaning! Do you have a change in the skill description? Any progress?" Tom laughed at his friend's haste and naivete. "You're lazy and in a hurry to show weakness. Look into your skills yourself! Be ashamed of it. Elina, pay no attention to this lazy apprentice. He only shows diligence while working with Master Kornelius," remarked the clone. "That's not true! I am not scared! But I am in no hurry to go into battle myself. We gather information," reassured the young man who had time to look at the princess. Dan noticed that the girl was smiling and understood the unseriousness of the accusation. "Don't be angry. I care about your mood. All skills have lost tenfold in power. But the quality is not gone! Terrifying Strike and Rabies become essential. These strikes completely ignore the opponent's defense! Don't forget that Rabies reduces your defense by a quarter. None of this makes sense to me. After attacking with the patron skill, I reduce my defense fivefold. Practically naked. Elina, excuse the indecent language," the clone grinned. The princess blushed and muttered that she had heard rougher words in the tower of destiny. Tom looked at the pleasing sword from the player's store. He had spent a lot of time in the forge trying to create a katana from local resources. The level of blacksmithing gave a negligible chance of success, but the clone wasn't shy about spending gold on resources. They had no problem with gold and resources in Grossroads.   [Katana. Damage: 20-28 (42) Durability: 190 Weight: 1kg Requirement: Level 19 Cost: 3500 XP.]   "You have three times the strength and three times the starting damage. But now it's clear that it takes at least twelve attacks for a normal warrior to slay a single monster. The skill boost is negligible, but even ten extra points of damage are good," Tom squinted. He saw that the princess was looking at him with a peculiar expression. "I like Algrin. These questions can only be resolved by the three of us," the warrior smiled. "What questions. I didn't ask anything," confused Elina. "I know that look. Fighting together is a good excuse for intimacy. But intimacy in a threesome is a special occasion. Talk to your mentor first," Tom suggested with a serious expression. "Fool! You bastard and brute! Go kill some more spiders. I want to fight them myself. Two fools!" Elina threatened her fist in Dan's direction. "I wasn't thinking anything shameful! Koreima and I don't want any silly experiments," the young man muttered. He bit his lip and added softly. "It's enough that sneaky girl is sucking the blood out of both of us. No twisted stuff for me. You have a sick imagination, Tom!" Phantom proudly raised his handsome face and looked at the princess with pleasure. His blue eyes reflected mischief and peculiar wisdom. "Anything that pleases Mother Nature is not shameful. That's what the elves say. I agree with Algrin. But I understand the rules of manners. That's the only reason I remarked our young warrioress," the clone tilted his head slightly and his black hair beautifully outlined the young man's pleasant features. "Talk to your mentor first. And don't fantasize about gorgeous me." "Ugh! Insufferable vulgarity. Get out of my sight," whispered the princess. The clone quickly put on his helmet and turned toward the passage. "Hobbits, continue your attacks. This time you were not able to hit Lucky Strike to penetrate the spider's Defense. It certainly exceeds fifty points. Our leader needs to gather as accurate information as possible about the fighting in the new world," ordered the clone and ran into the darkness. Ahead of the walls of the dungeon were barely illuminated. Dan stood and wondered if this insolent scoundrel reflected his secret desires. Dan Raven was a handsome enough young man. He had long ago realized that his phantom had chosen to permanently incarnate the most handsome player. Tom looked very attractive and manly. Constant battles and raising attributes had given players' bodies excellent physical forms. But the clone knew how to show special attraction. On important occasions, his face reflected that he was a strange miraculous creature of this magical world. Two fights later, the friends had full information about their opponent. The monster turned out to be a good adversary for developing swordsman skills. Normal damage that the armor defense could contain to prevent a severe wound. Weak Defense. And unpleasant poison damage.   [Black Spider (Animal) Level: 19. Life: 850-900. Damage: 100-120. Defense: 70 Skill: Poisoning. Casts a curse that reduces health by 7 points per second. The curse lasts 60 seconds]   The friends found that Dan's magic skills had also lost their effectiveness. But the power of My Precious ring gave too strong a boost to all spells. Dan could count on the power of the Healing Wounds with a fair degree of confidence. The spiders showed moderate movement and attack speed. Tom and Elina were three times faster than these animals. Soon it was time for the princess and swordsman Dan to test their abilities as well.
