Chapter 1
Malcolm stepped into the glass-walled luxurious restaurant, he was immediately struck by the breathtaking view of the city skyline.
The interior of the restaurant was beautiful with sleek and modern decor which exudes elegance.
As he was greeted by the maître d', Malcolm couldn't help but notice the other patrons of the restaurant. They were all dressed to the nines, with designer suits and dresses that sparkled and shone in the soft lighting.
The maître d' presented Malcolm with a menu. There were dishes from France, Italy, Japan, and even some innovative fusion cuisine that blended flavors and techniques from different cultures.
“This is a french cuisine, but the had other meals though” Malcolm thought
Malcolm's eyes widened as he scanned the menu, he was eager to taste their food, he had heard of french cuisines but he had never been there before.
As Malcolm looked at the menu, he came across the Coq au Vin dish. He had never heard of it before, but the image of the dish on the menu caught his eye. The picture showed a rich, flavorful stew with chicken, mushrooms, and bacon, all cooked in a red wine sauce. Malcolm's stomach growled at the sight of it, and he thought to himself, "This looks like a nice treat."
Despite not knowing what Coq au Vin was, Malcolm decided to trust his instincts and order it. He pointed to the picture on the menu and said, "I'll have this one, please."
The maître d' smiled and said, "Excellent choice, monsieur. Coq au Vin is one of our signature dishes. It's a classic French recipe made with chicken cooked in red wine, mushrooms, and bacon. It's a hearty and flavorful dish that's sure to satisfy your appetite."
The maître d' took his order and walked away, leaving Malcolm to wait for his food to arrive.
As Malcolm waited for his meal, he noticed a stunningly beautiful woman with long, curly brown hair and piercing green eyes that seemed to sparkle in the dim light sitting nearby. She was sipping a glass of wine, her eyes fixed on something outside the window. She seemed bothered and lost in her thoughts.
Malcolm pulled out his phone and began to scroll through his emails, responding to a few messages and making a mental note to follow up on a project that was due soon.
Not too long the maitre d’ approached him with a platter, that was his food.
“Can I get you something to drink, sir?" the maître d' asked, after serving his meal.
“I'll have a glass of your finest scotch.”
“Bon appétit monsieur”, the maître d’ commented.
Malcolm nodded, and quickly picked up his fork and took a bite of the Coq au Vin. The flavors exploded in his mouth, and he couldn't help but let out a satisfied "mmm" of pleasure.
Malcolm finished his meal, he felt satisfied and content. He had thoroughly enjoyed his meal and the wine had paired perfectly with the dish.
Just then, the maître d' approached his table, a discreet smile on his face. "Monsieur, I see you've finished your meal," he said, his voice low and courteous. "May I present you with the bill?"
Malcolm nodded. The maître d' handed him a small, leather-bound folder, which Malcolm opened to reveal the bill inside.
He scanned the bill quickly, checking to make sure everything was in order.
He pulled out his credit card and handed it to the maître d', who took it with a nod of thanks.
"I'll just need you to sign this, monsieur," the maître d' said, handing Malcolm a receipt to sign. Malcolm signed the receipt, added a generous tip, and handed it back to the maître d'.
The maître d' smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Merci, monsieur," he said, his voice filled with gratitude. "It was a pleasure serving you. I hope you'll come back and dine with us again soon."
"The meal was excellent, and the service was top-notch. I'll definitely be back." Malcolm commented as he took his leave
Malcolm let out a deep sigh as he lay on his bed, feeling the weight of the day's stress slowly lifting off his shoulders. He had just finished a long day, and all he wanted to do was relax and unwind.
His personal assistant, Julian, walked into the room, Malcolm smiled weakly and said, "Just a glass of water, please. And maybe some quiet music in the background?"
Julian nodded efficiently and turned on some soothing music as he headed off the room, he made his way to the kitchen to inform the chef that Malcolm needed a glass of water.
"Here's your water, sir," his chef said softly, not wanting to disturb Malcolm's rest.
Malcolm murmured a faint "thank you" and reached out to take a sip of the water, his eyes still closed.
Julian watched him for a moment, making sure he was comfortable, before turning to leave the room.
"I'll let you get some rest, sir," Julian said, his voice barely above a whisper. "If you need anything, just ring for me."
Malcolm nodded, already feeling his eyelids growing heavy. "That sounds perfect, Julian. Thank you."

The first light of dawn crept into the room, Malcolm slowly began to stir. He lay in bed, his eyes closed, and his body relaxed, as the warmth of the sun seeped through the window and onto his skin.
Malcolm laid still on his bed. The only sound was the gentle hum of the air conditioner, and the occasional chirp of a bird outside his window.
At first, the light was too bright, and he squinted, raising a hand to shield his face.
His phone buzzed, this was a mail from Blackwood agency.
He reached over and grabbed his phone from the bedside table he sat up on his bed, rubbing his eyes with the heels of his hands. He yawned, stretching his arms over his head, and arching his back. He felt a sense of stiffness in his muscles, but as he moved, the stiffness began to fade.
Good day Mr malcolm.
I'd like to schedule a meeting with you for today at 10am. I have some important things I'd like us to discuss.
Best regards
Mr Robin
The letter read.
He swung his legs over the side of the bed, and planted his feet firmly on the ground. The cool, smooth floor felt refreshing beneath his feet.
He walked over to the window, and pulled back the curtains, allowing even more light to flood into the room. The sun was rising higher in the sky, casting a warm glow over the entire scene.
He stood there for a moment, savoring the moment, and feeling the warmth of the sun on his skin.
He headed to the dining room where he was served freshly brewed coffee.
