Beta Serena Hart's life has never been easy. She lost her parents at a young age and inherited a duty that is just as challenging as being the leader of the pack, a position for which the late Alpha nominated her.

After meeting the charming Alpha blood, Liam, Serena falls in love with him. She bids farewell to her beloved hobby of racing and training, gives birth to their daughter, and hands over the leadership position to him, ready to embrace her role as the pack's Luna.

However, happiness can fade away as quickly as it arrives. Cruel fate forces Serena to confront their daughter's incurable illness, which slowly leads the little girl toward death. To make matters worse, the Moon Goddess brings back Liam's first love, along with their illegitimate daughter. As time goes on, Liam makes his choice and prioritises his new family, leaving Serena to fight for their daughter's life alone, stripping away the warmth of the home she once knew.

Will Serena be able to survive the humiliation inflicted by the Alpha and his new family? Can she make Liam realise he has two daughters and seek help to cure the abandoned little one?

Chapter 1 The birthday wish
Serena's POV Sunlight streamed in as I opened my eyes. My arm ached from sleeping in an awkward position, but I stayed still, afraid to wake Cecilia, who was sleeping soundly beside me. My daughter had struggled to sleep again last night, so I had stayed with her, comforting her as best as I could, even though I knew I couldn’t truly help. "Good morning, sweetie," I greeted her when she finally opened her eyes. Her long blond hair reminded me of mine. It was messy, and her blue, glassy eyes, which she inherited from her father, reflected the usual tiredness. Yet, my Cecilia smiled at me, warming my heart and breaking it all at once. Even though she tried to stay strong, I couldn’t shake the thought of her illness, which tortured her, and the reality that she might not be with me for much longer. Cecilia was the cutest little girl when she was born. She was healthy and loved to play with the other children outside. However, at some point, she started coming to me more often to ask for breaks. Cecilia was an Alpha blood, the heir to the Raven Moon Pack's Alpha, Liam, but she began to struggle to keep up with the other kids. At that time, I begged Liam to take her to a doctor for a full health check, but he refused. He called Cecilia a spoiled, lazy kid who only wanted attention. Liam was convinced that she had inherited the strongest bloodline, and he believed that her wolf could heal her if she fell ill. A few weeks later, Cecilia's condition worsened. Eventually, I was the one who carried her unconscious body to the hospital, where I was faced with the terrible truth: my dear daughter had a rare, terminal werewolf disease for which there was no cure. As time passed, I held onto hope that scientists would find a remedy, but they did not. My Cecilia had approximately three months to live, and those three months flew by, breaking my heart. "What would you like for breakfast, darling?" I asked her, and after a moment of thought, her lips curled into a smile. "Pancakes," she replied. "Mummy, could I have pancakes?" I nodded with a smile. "And can I have some berries, please?" she added. "Of course you can," I said. After she made her breakfast request, I helped her get up. We chose a nice dress for her, and I styled her hair the way she asked. "Now, you look like a real princess," I said as I led her to the mirror. "Mummy, I like the way you did my hair," she said. "Can you do the same for my birthday party, please?" "Yes, if you wish," I replied. "What else would you like for your birthday, baby?" After a moment of thinking, she looked at me, but her smile faded. "Could you ask Daddy to spend at least a little time with me? He doesn't need to buy me a present; I want him to play with me, as he does with Tiffany. They are always laughing and so happy," she said, and her words shattered my heart once again. Liam had neglected us for a long time, focusing on much more important things than Cecilia or me. I missed him, just as Cecilia did, but there was little we could do about it. When we first met, it was love at first sight. I was the only daughter of the deceased Beta of the Raven Moon Pack, destined to lead the pack after the last Alpha couple passed away without an heir, and they nominated me for the position. Liam came from an Alpha bloodline, but since he wasn’t the firstborn, marriage was his only path to leadership. I thought we were the perfect match, and I trusted him. The council accepted him as the pack members did, and he became the Alpha of the Raven Moon Pack. His succession ceremony was still ahead, and after his oath, he was supposed to introduce me as his Luna, a moment I now knew would never happen. Liam wanted that back then; he wanted me—until the day a Beta she-wolf came to the pack with her daughter, Tiffany, and asked for acceptance to live within our premises. It still hurts to think about how he gradually turned away from us and favoured Chloe and Tiffany instead. At that time, I was angry, and when it became too much, I confronted him, but his honesty hit me hard. He confessed that he and Chloe had known each other in the past—she was his first love, and Tiffany was his daughter. Chloe revealed the truth to him only after they moved here. He reassured me that Chloe was his past and asked me to understand that he couldn’t abandon his own blood. I understood, but I quietly watched as they took my husband and the father of my child away from me. I felt powerless. Since he had been accepted as Alpha, there needed to be a significant reason to remove him from his position. Even if his relationship with Chloe and Tiffany were exposed, it wouldn’t change anything. I felt trapped and could see no way out. "Sweety, you know how busy your father is. I’m not sure if he..." I started, but Cecilia cut me off. "But he has time for Tiffany," she said. I sighed in frustration. Cecilia was right. I had sworn to the Moon Goddess to make our short time together happy, and Liam couldn’t be so heartless as to refuse his own daughter’s wish. "Alright, Sweetie. I will talk to Daddy for you, okay?" I asked her. Even though she didn’t look completely happy, she nodded. "I'll show Daddy that I can be a good girl too, and maybe he'll love me again," she said, which frustrated me further, but I tried to hide it from her. I didn’t want to explain how much I wanted to confront Liam for doing this to his daughter, who only wanted some love from her parents.
