Chapter 2: Where is it? Quest for the count

Ylona POV

The next day..........

We are now in a sky arena that was build hundreds of years ago, it was founded by the great King Anthony Of The Kingdom of Gavaldrinne, (who says I don't know anything about it well I know a lot of information about it. But now let's continue with the story) ...... As I was saying, were now at the sky arena heading to the next challenge, Alpha, as usual, was in front of all of us talking about the next mission. It was a flying competition

She already explained earlier what we are going to do, all we have to do is to use our flying abilities to soar the sky and look for a symbol in the clouds, it may be a star, a heart, a diamond, or something you can see. If you manage to collect 10 symbols, you will advance to the next round. But of course, there will be no rules, so hurting each other is not a violation, unless your too weak to fight back.

Principal:Alright, since I've already told you the mechanics of the game, you will be assigned to compete at least two persons per Elistian. To know who will be your assigned competitors, a number on your mobile will appear that signals you turn. First two to comeback, advances to the next round, now..... Let's start the counting.....

Then multiple numbers were now loading in our mobile and then finally it stopped. I have the number 18 while this klutz in my right has the number 13, her birthday. The battle have already started, I admit it was a great game, but they lack power and strength, especially focus on the objective ahead. Now they will realized the truth that they forgot. Nothing is greater than achieving your goals rather than being confident to something you did not work hard on.

Voice:Next, Players no. 13, please step to the stage......

It was Kiarra's turn now to compete. She now stepped to the stage and prepared her arrow and bow. There were three lights in front of them, one purple, one blue, and the last is white.

I looked at her competitors closely, the one has blue hair and brown eyes, she is holding a piece of string, a dangerous one. The other has a pink hair and purple eyes, she is holding a dozen of knives which I sensed has a huge amount of Astreins(power) in it.

Voice:Players, the battle will start...... In 3..........

Then the purple light starts to glow..

Voice:2.......

Then the blue light.

Voice:1...........battle start.

As the white light glows, The three of them dashed like air especially Kiarra, it was obvious she is compatible in controlling air, she is an air mage.

It's been an hour since the match started and the match was pretty intense, Kiarra now has 5 symbols and is currently fighting one of her competitors. I'm here busy watching when one of Alpha's maids called me.

She told me to go to her office because she has something to talk about. I did what she said and then left the arena.

I am now in the office where she is busy watching the game.

Maid:Ms. Alpha, Ms. Ylona is already here.

Alpha looked at both of us and walk towards us.

Alpha:Thank you for your help, Mary.

She bowed at us and left. I sat next to her and continued watching the game.

Alpha:So...... She has talent, am I correct?

Ylona:You can say that......... But not enough.

Alpha:She indeed need more practice. But I think she had enough, after all of what happened, she still survived.

Ylona:I guess the incident does affect everyone..........including her.

She didn't said anything and just continued watching. As I was focused on the game, she went to a unfamilliar room and waited for a few minutes. After that, she went out holding a bottle of wine and two glasses of her other hand. She poured wines into the two glass and gave one to me. I gladly grabbed it and drank it while watching the game.

Alpha:You like it?

Ylona:It's good...... What brand is it?

Alpha:Vin de fleur. Its A new wine and I was lucky to find it in "Maison des vins". This is actually my first time tasting it, I'm glad you like it.

Ylona:Yeah.............

Voice:Time is up, the winner in this match is, competitor Lyra. Now please step in the the battle stage, conpetitors no. 14.

Alpha:Well look at that,Kiarra won.

Ylona:Its expected, from Lyra, the music angel. It was her Eclipsian clone, am I right?

Alpha:True, it was from her mother, my sister to be precised. She gave her a bracelet which I know she showed to you on your first day here. It was the artifact of Fiarra, the goddess of air along with the arrow she was using. She is the descendant of Fiarra, that's why we trained her so that she can master Fiarra's powers. We all know what happened thousands of years ago......

Ylona:The Holy War.

Alpha:Correct,as the history goes, the war started because of Hraefn. The Nevaeh, the path of light was created by Atria, the goddess of light, along with the rest of the others especially Evian.

Ylona:God of water...... Tell me.. Who is his descendant?

Alpha:........... You'll find out soon.

Ylona:Typical Alpha.

Alpha:I'm not joking, my dear. He will arrive, but not today.

I didn't respond to her and just focused watching. It's been an hour and it was now no. 17's turn. After a couple of silence, Alpha finally spoke.

Alpha:Did you find it?

As she asked me the question, I slowly looked at her at stared for a second.

Ylona:No.

Alpha:You don't like the task?

Ylona:I just find it a bit.....Off. Its not for me to find, but for them to look for it. I am not the descendant of any of them.

Alpha:Are you sure about that? Or are you misunderstood?

Ylona:What do you mean by that?

Alpha:It's for me to say and for you to find out.

I stood up off my seat and then went towards the door.

Alpha:Leaving so early, you haven't finished your drink.

Ylona:I'm already bored. Plus, its my turn next.

And then with that, I left the room and teleported back to the arena. I am now at the arena going back to my seat as Kiarra walked up to me and told me everything that happened, she even asked me where I was but I just said that I went to look around.

Voice: Time is up, the winner in this match is, competitor Fortuna. Now please step in the the battle stage, competitors no. 18.

I stepped up to the arena as I saw my competitors, one has blonde hair and green eyes while the other has orange hair and purple eyes. As we went to the starting point. I grabbed by earring and then prepared to battle.

Voice:Battle will start in 3..........

The gun fired and all of us went to our Eclipsian clone, I am Elara, the butterfly harmony. I then unleash my scythe and then proceeded in finding the symbols, I saw a flower shaped symbol and quickly grabbed it. And them I found another symbol and successfully caught. While I was looking for another one, I saw another symbol with a crown on it, I was almost gonna get it when k Ives started to went in my direction, luckily it missed me and I started hitting her with my scythe, it hit her but only in her left arm. As she hit me, another one came to me and attacked me behind. They will both damage me lf I just stood on my place, so when they both attacked me, I jumped into the air and then let out a critical hit. My scythe's blade separated from its holder and then it duplicates. I waved it in the air and then targeted the two competitors.

Ylona:"Halo Dragger."

The blades swirl into the air like a halo and then hit the two person's. They were going to stop it, but it was too powerful to them. As they fall down the stage, I grabbed their pockets and took all the symbols they collected and walked away. The whistle ring and that indicates the end of the match.

Voice:Match ended, the winner for this round, competitor Elara. With an outstanding skill she possess, she surely can make it to the end.

Kiarra hugged me tightly and then let go of me, she keeps blabbering about my fight but I didn't listen to her, I left the arena and went back to her office.

Alpha:Back so soon?

Ylona:I didn't finished my drink.

Alpha:Nice play out there, Elara.

Ylona:.............

Alpha:Sarcastic as ever, now are we?

Ylona:Its my life, deal with it.

Alpha:Alright, alright, I'll stop, but I think it's time to watch the game.

Ylona:7 people will be eliminated.

Alpha:I see you already know how many of them will be eliminated.

Ylona:I'm not slow like the others out there, plus it's obvious.

The fight now ended and it was now time to present the scores. I got the highest rank while Kiarra reached 5th. Mostly all of us passed except 7 people along with the ones I defeated, as I predicted. We went back to out dorms and finally I can sleep but not before Alpha called me again, what the heck!?!

I went to her office, angrily. And when I opened the door, I didn't see her but I saw her maids pointing me to a door. I went there and it lead me straight to a laboratory. I saw Alpha on a desk typing something. I went there without her noticing.

Ylona:What do you want?

I sad in an angry tone, for goodness sake, I'm so tired and now she's gonna call me out.

Alpha:Dont be so angry at me my dear, I'm just here to show you something. I found His descendant, he is the Prince of the Kingdom of Criestle. But sadly, the kingdom perished a long time ago and only him and his three sisters survived the tragedy.

I was surprised, who knew the heir is still alive, I only know that Kiarra is the only heir left, but I guess I was wrong.

Ylona:So...... Where is he?

Alpha:You don't need to look for him, he is in our school taking the test as well, but I think you will be surprised when you see this.

As she showed me the picture, I widened in surprise, but how is that possible. No, it can't be.

Ylona:Impossible......

It was time for another break and here we are at a Skype amusement park, seriously, why do these people love breaks so much. I am now wearing a black turtleneck and sleeveless dress with a withe belt with a ribbon on the center, white gloves, white knee socks, black ankle boots, and my black umbrella. I also wore the choker like last time. Kiarra is also here, next to me. She wore a green sleeved dress with a blue firls to add design, white sandals, and the same hat she wore in the beach. As she dragged me inside the park, we went on a roller-coaster with the height of 57 feet from the ground. We went in front of the ride and as the ride started, Kiarra screamed loudly its like my eardrums are gonna explode, after the ride ended, she went to a comfort room to vomit. After a few minutes, she came back to me looking pale.

Kiarra:H-hey.........H-how c-come you look o-okay, did you have some kind of spell of something?

Ylona:Nope,I'm just not afraid of it, it's just a simple ride.

Kiarra:JUST A SIMPLE RIDE?!?!?!?! ITS 57 FEET AND YOU TELL ME IT. WAS. JUST. A. SIMPLE. RIDE.?!?!?!?!

Ylona:Come on, Will you please shut up for a second?! It was your fault for riding it, I just followed your stupid footsteps!

Kiarra:Woah, Woah, take it easy, don't be so hard headed.

Ylona:Whatever.

I left her alone in the center and didn't bother looked at her. I went to a carnival and saw many kinds of games. One of the kids there run into me and then bumped into me. I saw the kid who bumped into me. It was a girl, she doesn't looked like a poor girl, more like a noble, she wore a pink with yellow highlight dress with matching crown. She has white knee socks and black with pink ribbon doll shoes. She has blue hair that reached her shoulder, she looks like more a three year old.

Kid:Sorry sister, I was lost, can you please help me?

Ylona:Sure..... What's your name?

Kid:Ziarra...

Ylona:So, where were you when you first saw your parents?

Ziarra:I was in the carousel with my mommy and then after I finished riding, mommy was gone.

She said as tears start falling in her cheeks. Then I went to her and hold her hand. She looked up to me while still crying so I wiped her cheek.

Ylona:Dont worry, we'll find your mom. Let's go to the carousel first.

She nodded at me as we go to the carousel, but we're out of luck because she's not there. Then we went to the entrance to find her, but she's still not there, now we went to one of the officers.

Officers:Hello there kid---- ehem, I mean Ms. Dia, sorry I didn't notice you there. How can I help you today?

Ylona:No its okay, this kid next to me is looking for her mother, sadly we can't find her, so now we need your help.

Officers:I see, now that you mention it, some woman her cam looking for her daughter. I think this is the girl she is looking for.

Ylona:Thank you for your help, officer. Now, where can we find this woman.

Officer:I now she went this way---

Ziarra:MOMMY!!!

Ziarra runned towards the left side and I saw her mom. When she finally saw Ziarra,she runned to her direction and hugged her tightly, Ziarra did the same. I went to them and looked at her mom, she really looks exactly like her mom. She also has blue hair but was longer, she has aqua blue eyes and pearl earrings, she wore a long white dress with flower designs on it, black heels and a pearl necklace, she also wore a diamond ring that looked familiar. As she finished hugging Ziarra, she walked towards me and then held both my hands and then spoke.

Ziarra's mom:Thank you a lot for finding my daughter, I thought I will never see her again.

Ylona:it was nothing, I just did my job.

Ziarra's mom:I'm so glad you found her, what's you name by the way?

Ylona:Ylona, Ylona Deaunville

Ziarra's mom:Thank you again Ylona, I am Camilla, Ziarra's mom.

Ylona:It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Camilla.

Camilla:It's a pleasure to, wait, are you studying at Elistein Academy?

Ylona:Yes, I am, why do ask?

Camilla:Well, I just saw your friend over there, she is the niece of Alpha Eurhaile, am I right?

Ylona:Wait, you saw us earlier?

Camilla:Well, yes, I heard your friend shouting that's why I can't help but notice you.

Stupid Kiarra, I knew shouting can cause such riot, that's why I want to choke her neck around, but sadly, I can't.

Ylona:Well she can be a bit.......... Loud.

Camilla:*giggles* its okay to be loud, she's just living life to the fullest.

Ylona:I guess so.........

While we were talking, Ziarra grabbed her mom's dress and then looked at her.

Camilla:Yes Zia?

Ziarra:Mommy, I'm hungry, I want to eat.

Camilla:Okay. Well buy your favorite food, is that okay?

Ziarra:Yey!!

Camilla:Sorry again for the trouble, Ylona, but we have to go now, the little girl over here is hungry.

Ylona:It's okay, I don't mind.

Ziarra now grabbed Ms. Camilla's hand and then they both walked out.

Ziarra:Bye, bye, sister Dia.

I wave them goodbye and left as well, that girl is surely finished with her 'business'. I went to the place where I left and then found her in the bin, still vomiting, I riled my eyes and went to her direction.

Ylona:You done?

Kiarra:Yeah.......... Now how about we go to another ride?

She quickly changed her mood, from sickly one to cheerful one. What a girl.

Ylona:You sure your not gonna do that again?

Kiarra:Promise I won't.

Then we went to another ride, and another, and another. Until we almost rode all of the rides is the park. It was already sunset when we both decided to leave the park and went to the dormitory. After that I fell into a deep slumber.

Today is the day that we will have a short test, this is not the challenge, no one will be the winner, it is just a test to see your limits. The test will occur at night, so it was a bit challenging but not for me, I have a special tool that will help me see in the dark. It was still 10 in the morning, so we still have many hours till we start the test, while we're still waiting for the test, I headed to the training facility near the gymnasium. I went to there and start to work on the treadmill. As I start to get the used to it, I started to speed it up until I reached the maximum. That's when Kiarra went inside and went to a treadmill near me.

Kiarra:Hi Yna, I see your busy on the treadmill, woah, you sure are fast. Even I can't reach that fast.

Ylona:You're not even trying and you're saying it's hard.

Kiarra:I'm just scared, I might slipped and hurt my throat again.

Again? I guess she already had an accident once.

Ylona:mind explaining that to me?

Kiarra:Well.......... When I was 7, I had an accident in our home, and one of the shards accidentally hit my throat that's why I can't really use my true voice, I wear this special choker to help me speak.

She showed me a black choker with grey highlights on it, with a big round silver microphone on the center of it.

Ylona:So you mean, your voice and all your songs are fake?

Kiarra:No, I mean, it's not fake voice, it was my real voice, but because of the shard that is still in my throat, I need this choker to release my voice and making it looked like normal.

Ylona:I see........ Now will you please continue your own business while finished my own.

Kiarra:Hmp....... Fine

She pouted at me and just continued on what I was doing, after almost an hour of exercising, I decided to stop and go to my room to change after I went out of the dorm to go to the garden. When I reached the garden, I saw a familiar face, I looked further to the garden and saw another statue just like the one I found in the beach but it was different, she has more longer hair than the first one and it has different clothing, it has a halo on top and a fairy's wings on her back, she also has a handcuffs but it was placed on her neck and lastly, her hand was holding a magical stick with a gemstone on the middle while the other is holding her neck.

When I reached the statue, I saw a familiar person behind it, I went quietly and slowly saw the person whose my mind can't get out. It was him, the person I saw in the beach. But instead, his cloak is not covering his face so I can see his face clearly, he has white hair and was holding a black sword and was holding a black sword. He wore an all black formal attire with white gloves, I slowly looked at him and noticed that he has a dark blue earring on both sides of his ear.

When was almost gonna go back to hiding when suddenly I tripped and almost landed on him, our faces are so close together it was only an inch apart, I didn't blush, instead, I blink many times. He was almost gonna open his eyes when suddenly I can't stand up, thanks a lot universe. He then opened his eyes and my eyes widened.

Third Person POV

The boy opened his eyes and saw nothing but the same thing he saw earlier.

Boy:Was it my imagination?, I think I heard someone.

He stood up, put on his cloak to his head and then went towards the farther side of the garden. When he disappeared, Ylona appeared in the same place where she was earlier. She them sighed and stood up.

Ylona:that was close.........

Good thing she used her invisibility gem to hide her, if not, she may be suspected by that person earlier. She went to the cafeteria to have lunch.

When she finally ordered her food, she went to a vacant seat to eat there. While she was eating her lunch, some came and sat at her table. She looked at the girl and then stared at her, she has light blue hair and red eyes, she also has a small gold crown with a Ruby shaped like a tear on the center. Her hair was styled with braids like a headband and white roses on each side.

She wore a red sleeveless dress with black designs and ribbons at it

After she stared at her, she went back on eating.

Girl:Hi! Sorry but can I sit here?

Ylona:You're aleardy sitting there and your still asking me?

Girl:Hehe, sorry about that. By the way, I'm Annica, the super elite rank princess, what's yours?

Ylona:Ylona........

Annica:Nice to meet you, Ylona.

She didn't answer her and just continued eating. While they were both eating, Kiarra jumped into them and sat beside Ylona, then Kiarra spoked at them.

Kiarra:Hi Ylona! Who's this new friend of yours?

Ylona:She's not my----

Annica:I'm so glad you ask, Hi! My name is Annica Northwest, the super elite rank princess. How about you?

Kiarra:Hi Annica, I'm Kiarra Urnea, the super elite rank singer, nice to meet you!

Annica:Nice to meet you too!!

They both talk about girly things which of course Ylona didn't participate. As she finished eating, she left both of them and head to the library.

It was now time for their night test and everyone is now at the school forest. As Alpha explained the mechanics, they all headed through the forest, all they need to do is to go to the other side of the forest, of course it will be not that easy, there are set traps and monsters to block them from entering. Everyone is now inside and now finding a way to get through the traps, some are fighting the monsters while others are luckily getting through. Kiarra on the other hand, is safely walking through the forest, good thing she didn't stepped into traps and monsters.

Kiarra:One step, two step....... Gosh, why is it so dark in here, I totally forgot about my flashlight.

As she was walking through the road, she stepped into a vine, she thought that it was just a normal vine but she was wrong,it was a monster, a large one. It successfully grabbed her in the air but luckily she unleashed her arrow and hit the vine that was straggling her leg. As the falls into the ground she fired thousands of arrows at her arrow.

Kiarra:"Dual Strike!!!"

A large sound boomed on the whole forest. While Ylona was still walking, she heard the loud noise, she looked to the direction it pointed but she didn't bother going there and just continued walking.

Then her bow changed and there appear many strings that make it look like a harp, she touched all of it letting out a loud sound.

Kiarra:"Thunder Cleff"

After that the monster falled down bit not long after it attacked Kiarra and injured her right ankle and her left arm. She winced in pain but then she attacked the monster all over again. She successfully managed to defeat it but it swayed its vine causing her to fall to a cliff. Good thing that she got hold of a branch but she think it will not be able to support her long. She tried calling for help but no one answered, then as the branch slowly break, she called louder, but nothing responded to her call.

Kiarra:HELP ME!!!!

Then the branch completely broke and then she started to fall, she closed her eyes and waited for the ground to hit her, but no ground nor anything hit her but rather, she found herself being held by someone.

???:Don't let go!!

Kiarra:I'm slipping............. Ahhhhhh!!!!

She tried to hold on, but her hand is too slippery. She thought that this was the end but the person grabbed her and put her in a hug position to prevent her from falling. Kiarra was surprised with what happened but then she started to smell that person's clothes and found a familiar scent.

Kiarra:This smells like.............. Him?

She looked at the person directly, she almost frowned in sadness to see that the person in front of her is not the person she was talking about, he has dark blue hair and golden eyes just like Ylona.

He wore a blue long-sleeved polo with a black blazer, white pants, and black shoes, he also has a silver ring with an emerald on the center on his right ring finger

Kiarra:H-how did you know that?

???:Well, you look just like your sister, by the way, my name's Louis.

Kiarra:Nice to meet you, Louis.

Kiarra tried to stand up but her injury is still fatal so luckily Louis assist her and offered her to ride at his back, she refused once but he insisted. As they reached the end of the forest, he quickly gave her to her sister, Kamika for treatment.

Kamika:Thanks Louis, my sister over here is pretty clumsy sometimes, I'm glad you saw her.

Louis:It's nothing Mika, plus she didn't bother me much, good thing I saved her from the cliff----

Kamika:WHAT?!? DID YOU JUST SAY CLIFF, ARE YOU OKAY KIA? ARE THERE MAJOR INJURIES IN YOUR BODY? TELL ME!?!?!

Kiarra:Kami, I'm fine.......

Kamika:*sigh* I'm glad your okay.

Kiarra:I told you I'm----YLONA!!!!

She hugged YLONA and then let go of her.

Ylona:What happened to you??

Kiarra:I just fall to a cliff, no worries..

Ylona:................okay....

Kiarra:Hmmmm!!Your so mean!!

Then she keep hitting Ylona while Ylona remained still and keep covering Kiarra's face with her hand.

Ylona:Shut up, will you.............

Kiarra:NO I WON'T!!!!!!!!!!!
