{Parris’s POV}
When Lynne and I entered the department, the intern, Estella, was already waiting for us, looking very anxious, and the amount of relief that took over her face the moment she saw us was unimaginable.
“Ms. Akerstrom!” She breathed out.
With furrowed eyebrows, I asked. “What’s wrong?” I briefly glanced around and saw nothing unusual. Everyone was still as busy as ever. I looked at her again. “Did something happen?”
She bit her lower lip and fixed her thick-rimmed glasses. “I’m so sorry but he just wouldn’t leave. I already told him countless times that you were busy, and that you weren’t here, but he was so persistent and insisted to wait for you!” She blabbered out so fast that it was a miracle I managed to keep up with every word she was saying.
