Vera's POV
"Give love a chance, Vera....give us a chance..... And trust me. The day you love someone."
He says, coming closer, and I fist the sheets.
"It will be the best feeling in this world."
I close my eyes, not able to look into his determined orbs.
My heart thudded rapidly in my chest as his soft breath fans my lips.
"Till next time, Vera. I will be waiting for your answer."
And with this, he is gone, leaving me more messed up than I was earlier.
Opening my eyes, I take a deep breath. Straining to stop my tears that were at their brim all this time.
Lifting the hem of the bedsheet, I skimmed under it to see my hand covered in vestiges of black, spreading like a quagmire.
They quivered the longer I stared at them, and that's when the dam broke.
