Chapter 2
He was dark and had side burns, just the way I liked it. as he laughed his dimples were on full view.
Oh God,why give a handsome boy dimples and then leave the girls bare.
His eyes were dim but not too dim, perfect for his face that was outlined by his side burns, ooh!! the side burns, that was what I loved most.
His lips were light peach, full and kissable and his nose was pointed. Now that's a pointed nose and not mine.
He was a man.
His chest rose as the laughter died down. He licked his lips when he caught me staring at him and smiled contently.
"Have I got something on my face?"
Breath.
That worked easily.
Talk.
I was finding it hard to say a word.
Think Think Think
"no, thanks. That was as scary as hell"
"I can imagine, your food is probably cold by now"
I nodded. he was right.
I looked up at him, he was looking at me, then my food, then me.
okay he expected me to eat.
On second thoughts I wish I bought something I could eat in a posh manner.
My head shot up at the sound of his voice again.
"My presence is probably inconveniencing you, I'll be at my table. I just hope he doesn't come back"
He sounded amused. I mentally face palmed my self. When did a boy,
A man
my subconscious interrupted me.
When did a man ever make me speechless
A lot of times
Shut up
I was going to show him that I could eat with him beside me.
"No, you can stay here beside me, just in case"
He nodded approving the invitation. Some seconds and he was beside me with his half eaten plate of fufu and melon soup.
I dug into my food and took a large handful, food was life. thank God for the creation of food. Secondly for the fact that we had to eat food everyday, try new mixtures and recipes. I was never going to get enough of food.
"An accounting student?"
He brought me back to the school cafe. I was already taking this meal deep. Come to think of it his voice was deep and rich.
"yup" I managed after swallowing.
I wasn't in the mood for a conversation and he seemed to get it because he said little after that. My screen lit up and I saw the name fish.
I frowned then picked the phone up.
"fish" he murmured but I heard him anyways.
"you done?" I asked amara dryly.
"I'm in the school cafe right now, I called to know if it will be alright to interrupt your conversation with the fine dude beside you."
"Stupid? stupid girl" I uttered between laughter.
"Come here joor before I change your name from fish to chicken"
This time she laughed and when I looked up I saw her walking towards me.
"what did you get me?" Wonderful way to say I missed you.
"Nothing, just as I promised" I chewed my meat as I spoke.
"hey" this time she was talking to.....him
I figured I didn't even know his name.
"you're not going to introduce me to him? I knew you always had a fish brain"
Remind me to slap this girl later today. I'm the one that gets to use the fish word on either of us.
"I...."
"I'm john, my friends call me jhay"
"Ooh. I'm Amara, and she's wren."
I frowned at my bestiee.
"I have a mouth you know? What should I get you, rice, swallow?"
I asked Amara.
"Same thing you're eating, but in a take away"
My chair scraped the floor as I stood up lazily. I was done, finished satisfying my hunger now my legs and eyes wanted to be satisfied too.
He stood up too.
"I guess I'll take my leave, see you around Amara, wren"
Jhay said our name like he was testing it. I immediately liked the sound of my name on his lips.
Give him your number
Shut up
swallow your pride girl, just give him a number or make him ask for it..
I was still trying to shut my inner voice when amara gave me the look that said
"His number"
If I wanted it I could have gotten it, somehow.
Hell, I wanted it but right now there wasn't any enthusiasm for it.
Another day, I recited to my self. I just hope there would be another day
