I smile as I watch Evan and Rachel heading out for a walk together. They can help each other even more in their healing. I've been waking up every night at this time for some reason. Bells is sleeping soundly. To keep from disturbing her, I come sit by the window and watch the stars and moonlight. Stare out over the peace of my pack, my home. I finally feel like I belong somewhere. Not like some restless nomad who is ready to bolt, only tethered by my job and my brother.
Phoenix is awake too, prowling in my mind. "Phoenix, any clues why we wake every night at this time?"
"Yes. I think you are ready for this. Go sit on the bed by Bells and Adira but do not wake them."
I step over slowly and sit on the edge of the bed. "Listen Ax...."
