Who is she?

“Stand down,” I breathed out, the words barely above a whisper. The three hesitated a moment before sitting back down on the couches nearest to me. My mate ran into the room, when he spotted me he dropped to the floor beside me and took me from Jamie. I could feel the tension in the room rise at this action, Alex and Dylan clearly not liking me being in a stranger's arms. “What’s happening to her?” He asked, panic clear in his voice. Alex, Brie, Dylan and Jamie all shared a questioning look, before looking at me, I gave a small nod in response. “We’ll explain in a minute, but first you need to help her,” Jamie said, without hesitation my mate nodded. Jamie grabbed his arm rolling up his sleeve and brought it down to my mouth. “No!” I whisper yelled, before screaming in pain. Jamie took the opportunity to shove his wrist into my mouth. Unable to avoid it I complied and bit down, the moment his blood hit my tongue I began to feel infinitely better. I only let myself feed off my mate for thirty seconds or so before ripping my mouth away. Jamie blew over it so that it wouldn’t scar before letting his arm drop. Quickly the stunned look left the man’s face, “The hells going on?” He demanded, I agreed that after what he’d witnessed and me biting him, he deserved an explanation. “I’m a hybrid,” I told him, bringing the room’s attention back to me. “Why don’t we give you two some privacy,” Brie said, standing up and leaving the room, the others hesitantly following after her. I sat up, feeling too valuable in his lap. He watched me closely, as I took a few deep breaths preparing to tell him a small part of who I am. “Well, my name is Crystal Haret and I’m a werewolf, vampire hybrid. I have a few other bloodlines in me but they tend to be the two most prominent.” He nodded, taking this information surprisingly well, “I joined your pack to learn more about werewolves and my father. What you saw happening to me was my vampire part fighting to shut off my breathing, heartbeat and other things one needs to live as it doesn’t need them, whereas the rest of me does.” He nodded again, giving me a small smile. He reached for my hand, taking it in his. “You don’t have to be so nervous, you’re my mate. I accept you no matter what,” Herading that made my heart swell in my chest. Marcus I followed my mate into the woods at a safe distance, not wanting to scare her. I watched as she wandered into a house leaving the front door open. I tried to listen to what was going on in the house but my senses were blocked. After waiting a minute I followed after her. I ran down the hallway of the house, following her scent into the living room. She was on the floor in another girl’s lap. three men and another girl sat around her. Their focus fell on me as I dropped to the floor pulling my mate onto my lap. “What’s happening to her?” I asked, once again her breathing was restricted, and her body was shaking. Everyone in the room shared a look, and my mate nodded. “We’ll explain in a minute, but first you need to help her,” The girl that had been holding her said, I nodded, willing to do anything to help my mate. Without a word the girl grabbed my arm, rolling up my sleeve she brought it down to my mates mouth. “No!” My mate whispered, before screaming clearly in pain, again. The girl pushed my wrist into her mouth, forcing my mate to bite me. By the time my shock wore off my mate had pushed my arm from her mouth and the other girl blew on it, making sure I wouldn’t get a scar. “The hells going on?” I demanded, needing answers, I was the future alpha of the pack and they were keeping a major secret from me, not to mention it had something to do with my mate and her suffering. It was my mate that eventually spoke up, “I’m a hybrid,” The focus of the room fell back on her. “Why don’t we give you two some privacy,” The second girl said, standing up and leaving, the others hesitatingly following. My focus however stayed on my mate. Suddenly she sat up, and began to explain. “Well, my name is Crystal and I’m a werewolf, vampire hybrid. I have a few other bloodlines in me but they tend to be the two most prominent.” I nodded, quietly listening to her, “I joined your pack to learn more about werewolves and my father. What you saw happening to me was my vampire part fighting to shut off my breathing, heartbeat and other things one needs to live as it doesn’t need them, whereas the rest of me does.” I nodded again, giving her a small smile. My heart broke at her declaration, her own body was fighting itself putting her in unbearable pain, but I wouldn’t let that show. I reached out, taking her hand in my own. “You don’t have to be so nervous, you’re my mate. I accept you no matter what,” I told her, meaning each and every word. “But I do have a question. Why did biting me stop it?” She hesitated a moment before answering me. “Um, before I met you the others were able to stop the pain and help me breathe, which is why I drank from that vile earlier. But now that I’ve found you my mate they will no longer be able to help me. See your blood ends the episode because you're a werewolf and that helps balance out the two bloodlines,” Crystal took several small breaks throughout her explanation, obviously trying to think of the right words to use. Without thinking I pulled her into a hug, needing to have her in my arms. She stiffened for a moment before relaxing into me. I was so focused on Crystal that I barely noticed that the others had come back in and taken seats on the lounges. When I looked up from my mates they introduced themselves. The girl who had been holding Crystal was Jamie, the other girl was Brie, the taller, more muscular of the boys was Dylan, the smallest boy was Roscoe and finally there was Alex. I introduced myself as ‘Marcus future alpha of the pack’ their faces all paled slightly herring this. Making me wonder if they knew what My mate was. Even Crystal seemed to be nervous hearing who I was. The room was silent for a minute, “I should probably get back to my room, school tomorrow.” Crystal said, we both stood up and she said her goodbyes to each of her friends. I had to suppress a growl when she hugged the boys of the group. Once she finished she walked up to me taking ahold of my hand and I led the way out of the house. “Crystal,” She looked up at me, and gave a small ‘hmm’, “I just want to let you know that there’s this girl at school Kate, who tends to go around telling people we’re dating, even though we aren't. I just thought you might want to know.” A small, mischievous smile crossed her face as I continued, “I was also wondering if you’d like to prove her wrong?” She nodded frantically, making me laugh. “How would you like me to do that?” She asked, “Surprise me, my only requests are that she sees and you don’t tell me when you’ll do it.” Another smile formed on her face. Before long we were back at the back house and I was wishing her a goodnight.
