Since her mother abondoned her, it wasn't easy for Lily living on her own without any support. She further couldn't imagine that her could left her just like that for money from her new boyfriend and his son Max.
One sartuday morning when she has just finished her breakfast than she heard a hooting of a car in her home compound. She wondered who was it. She peeped through the window and saw Max coming out of the, walking towards the doorstep.
She went and open the door before he could even nock.
" Why are you here Max?" She asked with an angry face which could tell everything that she didn't want to see him.
" I'm here to pick you up with an order from your mother. She insisted that I should not leave you here by yourself. You are coming to live with us."
" I'm not ready to be your step sister Max. I already told you that and I'm not going to repeat myself"
" I never said that I want to be your step brother either. It's just that your mother and my father are dating and nothing more." Max answered Lily in a firm voice.
Lily told Max that since they are opposite to their parents relationship, then they should join hands with Max and come up with an idea to stop them from going further.
"Just come home with me and we shall discuss about that later." Max suggested.
Since Lily's life wasn't so good since her mother left her she decided to surrender to Max and follow him to their house where her mother was enjoying her luxurious life with Max's father.
Left with no choice, Lily accompanied Max to their house with a mission of breaking ther parent's relationship. And since they hated each other from the beginning, their journey was filled with total silence, with no conversation from any of them.
" Look who is here!...Welcome my dear daughter!" Susan_ Lily's mother welcomed her daughter cheerfully when they just arrived at home. " I knew that you will be able to convince her since I failed as a mother. Thanks for not letting me down Max. You can now leave us alone. We need to have some mother and daughter chat."
Max left the two and headed upstairs to his room leaving the two in the sitting room.
" Now listen to me very careful young lady, you will be living in this house from now and you have to behave yourself before your step father and his son Max." Susan started with a very serious and harsh voice.
Lily's eyes narrowed as she listened to her mother's words, her anger written all over her face. She had never been one to take orders or criticism well, and Susan's tone only fueled her determination to break up her their relationship.
"I don't see why I have to behave myself whe you are the one who stirred up this problem. We have been living so good before you decided to start another relationship" Lily said, her voice full of anger. "I'm not a child anymore that you can decide for me everythin. You did not even asked me wheather I'll be okay with you having a boyfried. How do you expect me to undestand you, and now you are here telling me to behave myself. This is all bullshit mother."
Susan's expression changed with eyes turned red flashing with warning. "You may think you're grown up, Lily, but you're still living under my roof, and you'll do as I say. You'll treat your stepfather and Max with respect, and you'll not cause any trouble."
Lily stood firm, rolling her eyes. "Respect? You want me to respect them? You're the one who's abandoned me for the past few weeks just for them without caring how I've been feeling. And now, you're expecting me to just forget everything and play nice with your new family? No, Mother. I'll do what it takes to make sure you and your precious stepfather don't make it," Lily said, her voice cold and calculating. "And I'll start by making sure Max and I don't get along. You can count on it, Mother..."
Before she could even finish talking, Lily was silenced with a heavy slap on her beautiful and soft cheek from her mother.
"How dare you," Lily spat, her voice trembling with rage. "You've never hit me before. You've never had the guts to."
Susan's face was burning with anger and fury, her eyes being as red as an angered werewolf. "You've gone too far that you even don't care that I'm your mother, talking to me without any repect," Her mother shouted at her angrily. "You're not a child anymore, and you need to learn to respect your elders. You will not be talking to me like that and you will not come between me and your stepfather. Do you understand?"
Lily's eyes narrowed, her jaw clenched and answered her mother with her voice raged with anger. "I understand that you're willing to do whatever it takes to protect your precious relationship, even if it means hitting your own daughter," she sneered. "But I'll never back down, Mother. I'll never give up until I've destroyed this farce of a relationship."
Susan's chest heaved with anger, her fists clenched at her sides. She took a step forward, her eyes flashing with a warning.
"Lily, you're playing with fire and it's going to burn your skin," she said, her voice low and menacing. " You must be very careful not to find yourself in hot soup.
Lily gave her mother a cold calculating smile. "I'm not afraid of you, Mother," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "I'm not afraid of anything. And I'll do whatever it takes to make sure you and your new boyfriend won't make it in your relationship."
In his room, Max was hearing everything that was going on between Lily and her selfish and greesy mother. He didn't want to interfere since it was a family matter. In addition he was also not happy with his father relationship with Lily's mother, Susan, since he viewed her to be a gold digger. And for that he hated her and her daughter Lily. And he was also not ready to be Susan's step son and Lily's step brother.
As he listened to the venomous words being exchanged between Lily and her mother, Max's anger and resentment towards them only grew stronger. He couldn't believe how his father was so blinded by Lily's mother and ended up being with her, a woman who even don't care about her own daughter.
Just like Lily, Max's mind was also racing with thoughts of how he could stop his father's relationship with Lily's mother . He couldn't let his father marry Susan, not when he knew that she would only bring misery and heartache into their lives.
He was still upstairs in his room ans just as he was thinking of a way to intervene, he heard Lily's mother walking out of the room, slamming the door behind her so hard. The sound was followed by a total silence, and Max could sense Lily's despair and frustration.
He hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should go to her and try to comfort her but his anger and resentment towards her mother and which made him hate Lily so much won out, and he decided to stay in his room leaving Lily to deal with the aftermath of the argument on her own.
" Humans will forever be humans and they will never change. I think this is another reason as to why oue kind can never bond with humans." He told himself as he was preparing to go for a pack meeting.
