Karina's POV

I reached my hands up above the shelves to get my skinny jeans and other stuff to put it inside my small luggage. Mia is sitting on my bed, nagging about my sudden departure. She's worried about me and also she'll be having hard time paying the rent alone since I was paying half of the rent until this time.

"Karina, do you really have any idea what you're doing? You barely know this Alpha. What was his name again?" She asked. Now that I remember, I only know his name..

"I think it was Lucas and his beta's name is Niccolo. To be honest, I have no problem working with Lucas, it's just his beta is so arrogant and rude. I don't know but he kinda reminds me of you." I replied.

"What? Are you seriously comparing me to someone who's arrogant and rude? I've always been so caring about you Karina, how can you say that?"

"That's my point, you see Niccolo is being rude to me because he's protecting his Alpha. But anyway, you don't have to worry about me Mia. I'll be getting enough pay from that deal and also I'm still going to pay the other half of the rent." I explained. I'm still going to be responsible about the rent fee in this apartment, I owe Mia so much after I got out from being imprisoned. She shared her food and lent me some money so I can find a new job. Speaking of me being imprisoned, I wonder if that beta knows about it, because if he does I'm pretty sure he'll do everything to get me out of that house.

"Alright, but can I visit you there some other time? I want to make sure if that place is safe for you. I'm your only family for the last three years Karina, you can't say that I don't have the rights to check on you." She said, crossing her arms at me. I sighed and hugged her, there's no way I can't say no to that.

"I'll text you after I will get my permission." I assured her.

There's actually not much stuff that I owned in the apartment, only my clothes and shoes. Originally that apartment belongs to Mia alone, she's working as a clerk in a small hotel. She has five younger siblings, that's why she always sends her pay at home and just take a little for herself. Up until now, she's still struggling to save money for herself since her parents were expecting for her to help them. She's more in a worst situation than me since I only have to live for myself. The least I can do for Mia is to pay half of the rent even though I'm not occupying the space anymore.

"Hey, you promised to call me if I'm allowed to visit you, right?" I just sighed then nod at her.

"You actually have a lot more important things to think other than me, but okay probably tomorrow if I can get to ask him tonight when he gets home."

"Alright. It's already five, you should get going. Take care of yourself Karina." She implied while giving me a hug.

"I will, you too Mia. Good bye." I replied then get inside the taxi to go at my new home.

Can I even call that place my home?

Right, since I already got my things with me, I only need to find the medicine that will work on me. It's almost late so I'll just do it tomorrow afternoon after my shift. I need to have a full control of my heat so I can work efficiently in that Alpha's place without worrying anything. I'm not involving myself with him anymore, I only need that work since I get to have a big hourly pay.

When I arrived, I realized that I have to pay the taxi twice a day since I can't walk the coffee shop from his condo.

F*ck I need to calculate this thoroughly. I need to make sure that I won't be broke before getting my pay since I don't have enough cash with me anymore. Plus my ATM only has three digits right now. I can't just ask for an advance, that Niccolo might think that I'm taking advantage of his master's kindness. Speaking of kindness why is that Alpha keeps helping me.

Wait, does he really likes me?

Come to think of it, at first he's been wanting to talk to me and waits for me until I get my shift ends. Second, he rescued me from that awkward situation, then now he's giving me a place to work and live since he's worried about me.

I shake my head, to clear my thoughts. There's no way that Alpha is in to me, but I need to confirm it.

I stood outside the door and started entering the passcode. When door's opened, I quickly took a step while dragging my things going inside. The place is already lighted up, so I wonder if he's already in his room.

Now that I think about what happened last night, it makes me feel uncomfortable if it's only the two of us. The thoughts of him having a liking on me still swirling inside my mind. Because if he really does have a feeling for me, it might sound cocky but I'm afraid that I have to reject him since I don't like Alphas.

My face suddenly went flushed remembering what I did last night.

I can't deny that he's really good at satisfying me though..

After putting my things inside my room, I went out to start cleaning the place but my body stop when I heard a voice from the kitchen. My feet quickly went there when I smelled Lucas pheromones and another alpha.

When I got in the kitchen, I saw him talking to a beautiful and obviously rich female alpha. They seems really close since she's standing so close to him.

"Oh an omega, who is she?" She asked when she notice my presence. Lucas gaze directly went on me after she asked that.

"You're already home. She's Karina, she works here in my house as part-time." He explained. Is he not planning to say that I'm also living here? She's probably his girlfriend or what.

She went over me and stretch her arm. "Hello Karina it's nice to meet you, I'm Sofia" She introduced herself.

"Hi it's to meet you too." I replied. She immediately turned her back on me going to the table to get her bag.

"It's very unusual for you to have an omega work in your house Lucas, I thought you hated omega's scent? Oh well, it's not like every omegas have an unpleasant smell."

She then went closer to Lucas and peck a kiss on his cheek them face me back.

"Anyways, thank you for inviting me here Lucas, but I'm afraid I have to go now. See you guys next time." She said then walked past at me.

When she got out, I quickly followed to lock the door properly. I was dumbfounded walking back towards the storage to get the vacuum cleaner.

She's so beautiful, I wonder if that was his girlfriend. But he had s*x with me last night, does that means that he's cheating on her?

I kept thinking about it inside my mind while cleaning the floor. I think it's normal for rich people like them to have one or more partners. And I think Sofia didn't mind me being here as well. Well, it's obvious that I'm no threat to her. But still, if that was me, I would feel really bad if my boyfriend has another girl in his house. So maybe she doesn't mind it also?

I think I'm the only one getting so worked up about it. Why do I feel like I'm the one being cheated?

I shook my head then quickly keep the tools back to its place after cleaning. I still need to cook a dinner.

He's in his room the whole time I was cleaning and cooking after that woman left. I guess he's tired? Did they do something earlier? F*ck why am I so worried about it.

It's already seven, I don't know what time he usually eats for dinner. But I'll just prepare it for now and ask him later.

After laying down his plate and food, I went up to his room. It took me three knocks before he opened his door. He was topless with his soaked hair, he just got out from the bath.

"The food is ready. You can get down to eat now." I said and turned around. My face is blushing so much, I just realized how attractive his figure and those perfectly shaped six buns.

I just went to the kitchen sitting, waiting for him to finish his food so I can eat..

"What are you doing there?" I spin around when I heard his voice behind.

"Huh? I'm waiting for you to get finish eating." I answered.

"Get your own plate and eat together with me." He demanded before he left, going back to the dining table.

What? Why would I be eating with him?

I sighed. In the end I ended up getting my own plate and seated opposite to him. This is so awkward. Where is that annoying beta when you need his loudass voice.

"Hmm, by the way the friend that I was living before in a the same apartment asked if she could come and visit me once here. She just want to make sure I'm safe, of course she'll visit when you're around since she also wants to meet you." I asked while mixing my food. He's so quiet.

"Okay, just tell me if when will she visit. Don't just bring anyone here without my permission." He explained.

Well obviously I know that, that's why I'm asking you right now, duh!

I said inside and continued eating. After finishing the food, he went back in his room. So I cleaned up the leftovers and washed the dishes. He didn't even said something about the dinner I cooked.

Tch!

But it looks like he's not with himself today. I wonder what happened?
