Night Talks

Karina's POV

I was sitting at the lounge, watching a movie from the flat screen television when I notice Lucas' pheromones on my back, coming down the stairs. I ignored him and didn't bother looking at his direction. He went to the kitchen for a moment and came back with a cup of yogurt on his hand. Of course, he only brought one. What am I even expecting. He seated next to me, crossing his legs while eating his yogurt.

"You're not planning to watch another movie right? I might deduct the electricity that you consumed from your salary." He murmur.

My eyebrows instantly raised at him. I know that his beta is not here, but why do I feel like he's radiating a Niccolo vibe.

"You should've informed me earlier. Don't worry I'll rest after finishing this one." I simply replied.

He's eating his yogurt while watching the movie with me. It suddenly came in my mind that I don't know anything about this man or what is his living. He has his personal beta and luxurious condo unit so obviously he's a rich Alpha.

Should I ask him? I'm so curious.

I cleared my throat before turning slightly in his direction. "Hey, I've been meaning to ask you this, what do you do for living?" I asked.

His attention hastily change on me. "I do own big businesses and construction companies."

I was shock just by hearing the words businesses and companies. He really emphasize the plural forms of those words. I knew that he's a rich alpha, but I didn't know that he's THIS rich.

"W-Wow. You must be a genius the fact that you're still young yet you already own those types of wealth." I uttered, going back my eyes to the television. Lucas is only paying me the hours that I'm working in his house The time that I will spend sleeping here isn't included.

"How about you Karina? I'm really curious about you. What's your dream?" His question leads me to a deep thoughts. Did I ever had a dream? Now if I'll think about it, I never dreamed of anything since I was young.

"I actually don't know what's a dream. I grow up without any support from my family. I have no one beside me to motivate me to dream something for myself or for someone I love. The course I took in college was my father's choice since it's the cheapest course in that University. I'm only working for living now." I honestly answered at him. He just look at me in the eyes.

"It's the first time I heard something like that from someone who live only to work. I mean, people like you should be a dreamer too so you can have a better life in the future. Do you want your children to experience all of your struggles right now Karina?" I look at him in his eyes when it ring a bell on me.

"No, I don't want to." I replied.

"That's my point, if you have no one right now, then just think about your future children and let that thoughts to motivate you to dream big." He explained. It's the first time that I'm listening well to this Alpha. I never expected this day that I would give my awe to him. He's so cool for that.

"Am I being lame?" I asked.

"No you're not. I may not understand your situation but at least don't repeat your past to the future. You should dream something for yourself also. It's not that hard Karina, you're still young. You can still finish your college and work the job that you wanted."

Lucas and I talk even more after that. I didn't know that I could gain so much knowledge from him. This guy is not just any dominant Alpha but also an intellectual. No wonder that he has a stable job at the very young age.

After talking to him, I went inside my room to sleep. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows are very soft. This will be my first time sleeping in this room since the last time had an unexpected weird event happened.

I really need to get a check up so I can find a medicine that will work on me. But the problem is that my money will not be enough and I still have to wait until the next two weeks to receive my salary from the coffee shop and from Lucas.

It will be frustrating if I'll experience my heat again. For the mean time, I just need to get out in this house when I'll feel something weird inside my body. I can't just use him to suppress me or else he wont stop telling me that I owe him too much.

The next morning, I immediately went the coffee shop after eating breakfast with Lucas. He was in a hurry so I didn't bother him that much.

"Karina are you busy this weekend? My favorite anime is getting a live action movie and will air on Saturday but I don't want to watch it alone." Mathew suddenly asked.

"I maybe busy or not, I can't watch it with you since I don't have extra money for those kind of leisure." I replied, seating on the counter chair. Today we only have few customers coming.

"I invited you so I'll be paying the tickets of course." He said. It's very unusual for him to invite me to something like this since usually he only nags at me.

"Really? Then I'll go with you." I replied. I'm free from morning 'til four pm every weekends so there's no problem with that.

"Okay, then it's a deal. You better show yourself at the mall Karina."

"Yeah yeah you don't have to threat me with something since it's been a while the last time I watch in a cinema." I said. I just hope my heat won't strike on that day. Well, normally I only experience my heat at night.

Later in the afternoon after my shift. I called Mia to meet me at Lucas' place so I can introduce him to her.

When she arrived at the building, I texted Lucas first to make sure that he's already at home since he doesn't like if I'll bring another person inside when he's not arround.
