"Hey, let me take that." Tyler kept on insisting.
"It's okay." I repeated, strapping my bag onto my shoulder. "It doesn't hurt much anymore."
"I just want to help somehow..." he scratched the nape of his neck.
"You did help, remember? You took me all the way to the nurse's office and even took care of me while the nurse was not there." I smiled, but somehow Tyler looked away, annoyed by something.
"Hey, Ellie, Tyler, wanna go to the karaoke place?" Maia asked.
Tyler hesitated, but once I accepted, he also approved of the offer. Thus, the four of us walked together through town. I smiled all the way there, feeling lucky to have these friends.
That's right, I almost forgot. I picked up my phone and sent a text to Brady.
I'm coming home a bit later than usual.
