CHAPTER 4: APOLOGIZE

1014 Words
I attempted to push the hateful woman away, get her ugly face out of sight but she seemed to have anticipated my move. Unable to push her away, I could only glare at her. I hated that she was stronger than me, not to mention that annoying smirk on her face that spells arrogance. "What do you want?" I asked warily as I remained defenseless on her body trap. "What do I want?" She repeated, scratching her chin in contemplation. "Let me think about what I could possibly want from someone like you," she added, her obvious intention of taunting me coming out in her words. She must be here to gloat at me for having my mate all to herself and possibly remind me that I'm a nobody, something that I have heard since I grew up. "If you have nothing to say, get out!" I ordered and I watched as her eyes flicked with a dangerous glint. Grabbing my chin roughly, she forced me to look her straight in the face. "You don't get to order me, mutt. Mind your tongue or you won't know how you lost it." She warned. I clenched my jaws painfully, keeping my gaze locked with hers. If she thinks that she will intimidate me, then she is so wrong about that. I am not the kind of person to back down without a fight. "Listen to me carefully, stay away from Jason if you want to have a peaceful stay in this pack. I won't tolerate seeing your ugly face near him. If I spot you near him, you'll not like the consequences." Dilai warned, making me chuckle. "Why? Are you not confident with yourself? Are you worried that an Omega like me will rival you and win against you?" I shot back, taunting her. I watched in pleasure as her jaws clenched. From her few words, I could tell that my presence here threatened her. But why would she be threatened by a nobody like me? Jason chose her over me, wasn't that enough for her? Dilai chuckled, a chuckle so dark that it sounded like it emanated from the depths of hell, perhaps from the grim reaper himself. "Feisty huh? I want to see If you'll have something to say when you join your parents in the afterlife. I actually don't mind doing that. " She taunted. Her words made me clench my fists. She had the audacity to mention my parent's from her evil and ugly mouth? "You know, it's a good thing they are dead. They were just as useless as you are. If you keep challenging me, you'll meet the same fate as them. I will make sure I send you to the afterlife with my own hands. " She swore and I lost it. Thrashing unsuccessfully, I spat on her face. I didn't know where I got the courage to do that, what I knew was the fact that I needed to pass a clear message to Dilai that I was not scared of her. "How dare you!" Dilai shrieked before a hot slap landed on my cheeks. I could feel my ears ringing from the impact and a metallic taste of blood filling my mouth. As an Omega, receiving a blow from an Alpha was unbearable. I could still not fathom why I didn't lose a tooth or two from her slap. I fought the urge to shed tears. I could not allow her to see my tears and give her another reason to taunt me. The door was pushed open just when Dilai was getting ready to give me another slap. Jason stood before us, his eyes scanning between Dilai and I. Seeing him, I could not control my tears anymore as I burst out crying. At that moment, I was taken back to the days Jason would defend me from bullies. Growing up, he was my biggest pillar. When our eyes locked, I could see some gentleness in them, sparking my flame of hope that maybe my Jason was still here. "What's happening here?" Jason asked, his eyes trained on me. His voice sounded cold, making me swallow hard. "She slapped me." I accused, glaring at Dilai who was once again putting on her Innocent white lotus facade. Jason turned to look at Dilai who was now on the verge of shedding tears. "She disrespected me and called me names. She said that I am a w***e who can't wait to climb on your bed. I am your chosen mate and future Luna of this pack, how can I let others disrespect me?" Dilai explained, dabbing her eyes from non-existent tears. Hearing her words, I could only grit my teeth in hatred. "Liar! Why don't you tell him how you threatened to end my life like you did to my parents? Tell him that you are responsible for the death of my parents!" I shouted but the look on Jason's face told me that even he didn't believe what I was saying. Once again, I was deemed the liar. "That's enough Nadia. I understand that you are angry with Dilai but that doesn't give you the right to disrespect her!" Jason reprimanded, a disappointed look on his face. Looking at the man whom I had spent all my days loving and thinking about, I could not control the ache in my heart. 'Why Jason? Why won't you believe a word I say? In your eyes, am I that invaluable?' Those were the questions I wanted to ask him but I stopped myself. What's the use anyway? They'll never change anything. My Wolf was howling in pain. Her mate's treatment was taking a toll on her. I wasn't any better. Looking at Jason gaze at me with so much hatred and resentment, I felt like my heart was being stabbed repeatedly. "Apologize to Dilai now!" Jason's next words had me freezing in place. Apologize? For what? I didn't do anything wrong. Why should I be the one to apologize? "I won't repeat myself again Dilai, apologize at Once!"
