Growing Pains part 2

I’m running to the pack house and I see Matt showing the omegas where to set up the tables and chairs. I shout “Hey I got the flowers!” he looks at me with relief and the biggest smile “I can see that. The flowers look even better up close Nami. I was kinda of getting worried” I smile “Matt relax I didn’t even leave the area that long besides Pain would never do anything to hurt us she loves werewolves. I’ll be back got get these in some ice water so they don’t get messed up during the party.” Our eyes met and we stared at each other I didnt realize my heart is creeping up in my throat. Matt pretends to cough to break the silence between us “Nami I’ll go with you I have to check on the food anyway.” We go inside and see everyone in the kitchen floor hustling and prepping the food the smell in incredible the pack cooks are so focused its like they don’t know we’re there at least I think they don’t. Matt walks up to me “Wait here Nami I’ll get the vases.” I glance at his back did his shirts always fit this good? I can see he’s starting to get more muscular I try to keep my cool as I ask “G-Get me two please” He looked at me confused so I held up my second little bouquet of flowers to show him. Matt looked at me and for a second I thought I saw him look upset like if he was mad almost but then he smirked showing off those sweet dimples and grabbed two vases from the bottom cabinet, and he asked Head Chef Davis “How’s the food coming along looks like it needs more time? Need us to stall our parents?” the Head Chef Davis laughed, and he ruffled Matt’s hair with joy “No worries kid everything is set just make sure the table is ready for the buffet. I swear Matt your just like your old man focusing on every detail.” Matt smiled proud and held his head high “I hope so. I’m the next Beta you know. So I got to make sure I got Nami’s back covered from all angles since I’m her man.” Matt looked over at me and gave me a wink with his mischievous smile and I felt my face get hot as I try to talk “Y-You’re my Beta your supposed to and don’t say it like that people are gonna start thinking weird things about us!” I meekly punch Matt’s shoulder and Matt just laughed as he grabbed the vases and pushed me towards the door “Yeah. Yeah. Come on let’s go put the flowers on the main tables Nami.” We walk towards the back yard and the pack members have almost completely decorated the plus side of my pack is that everyone helps except for the pregnant wolves they are being looked after in our maternity ward since our pack is fairly good size, we want to make sure they are being properly cared for and protected we can’t be too careful since my dad and his Betas aren’t here. I see Gamma Justin on a ladder hanging the last of the star decorations above the main table I couldn’t help noticing two female pack members I wasn’t familiar with checking out his butt, I walk up behind Gamma Justin and shout “Gamma Justin is your butt burning!?” He looked at his butt and then looked at me confused as he asks, “No why?” I look over at the she wolves from earlier he follows my gaze and laughs as he gets down from the ladder “Namine relax I don’t mind them staring I-.” I roll my eyes as I put the flowers on the table. I let out a growl as I looked at him annoyed “I think your mate Gamma Mary would mind. You know what instead of me thinking if she would let’s just go ask her-” Gamma Justin hugs me and tickles me to the ground after two minutes of torture he helps me up “Namine sweetheart lets talk about this I mean are you trying to get these she wolves killed. What I meant was that they can stare at my butt all they want but me and my butt belong to Mary” I smile “alright I guess but don’t you hurt Mary I’ll break your nose if you do. I see Gamma Mary come up from behind him as she jumps on his back with the cutest smile as she asks “Did you two forget that you have to go get ready or are you two going as a pair of stinky wolves? Our guests of honor are almost here so you’d better hurry up.” I look at Mary and nod my head “Thanks Mary I’ll go get ready and Gamma Justin if you ever hurt Mary I’ll kick you in the bal-.” Matt pushes me away as Gammas Justin and Mary laugh “Relax Nami and go get ready our dads are gonna be here any minute and you’re still not dressed“ I let out a sigh as I head home and get changed I decided to wear a white summer dress for the event. I comb my long black hair into a simple braid that goes down to the end of my lower back this should be fine it’s not a formal event so I can keep it simple this time I go into my walk-in closet and put on my white vans. I take a look in the mirror the full size mirror I haven’t really noticed how much I’ve grown recently it’s weird how I’m admiring myself I usually don’t care about what that kind of stuff but seeing myself right now is making me think I should start doing more girly stuff it’s kind of fun I hear someone cough by the closet door and see Matt smiling at me suddenly he trys to hide his smile behind is hand while the other was behind his back I feel myself blushing I instantly point at him and try not to sound embarrassed “You know it’s rude to come into a girls room uninvited” He looks at me with a smirk “Since when have you been a girl? I mean it never bugged you when I came before so why are you making a big deal about it?” Now I feel my face get hot what does he mean since when am I a girl! “I’ve always been a girl Matt.” He looked at me with his cute mischievous smile “Yeah Nami I know our moms used to give us baths together in the bath house. I’m just messing with you. What’s got you so tense lately?” I pretend to be annoyed “You. Matt. You’re always coming into my room without me saying it’s okay it gets annoying after a while.” I look away trying to hide my face I don’t know why Matt is making me feel so insecure all of a sudden. I hear him take a breath as he steps closer “Nami.” His voice changed he sounds so tender now it made my heart skip a beat. I stare at him as he rubbed the back of his neck shyly as he spoke “If it’s about you checking yourself out in the mirror it’s not a bad thing to like how you look… I mean you are cute and all… “If I didn’t feel embarrassed before I feel full of embarrassment now but Matt calling me cute makes my embarrassment worth it. I look at him trying to hide my smile “You did not see me checking myself out okay Matt?” he smirked at me as he leaned a little closer to while putting up one hand in surrender “Okay. If that’s what you want I mean if that’s what you really want, I didn’t see a thing… but all jokes aside you really look great I like the braid I haven’t seen you do that hair style in a while but… if you don’t mind me saying your look is still… missing something.” I look at him confused as he leans closer to me. He’s so close I can feel his breath on my lips. My heart is racing so fast I’m scared he can hear it. Why is my heart acting so weird its practically coming out of my chest what’s wrong with me? Matt looks at me amused and pulls out a red rose from his back and puts it in my hair “Now you look perfect Nami. Red really makes your eyes stand out.” His hand touches my chin and he gently lifted my face so I could look at him. We’re face to face and it’s really making me feel mystified. Matt caressed my cheek and I instinctively rub my face against his hand. I see his eyes go from grey to black for a while as his breathing was becoming heavy I think he’s trying to control his wolf Cerberus, I gently touch his chest and spoke in a whisper “Matt? Cerberus?” He looked at me with dark onyx eyes and such a sad smile as he cradled my face. Gently rubbing his thumbs on my face he low growl was so soothing to me and the warmth from his hands made my body respond with goosebumps. I’m afraid of how strong my feelings are becoming for Matt and Cerberus. Somehow in a sick twisted way I felt safest with them which scares me because what if don’t feel this way with my mate? What if my mate doesn’t make me feel this way Like Matt does…? I’m scared of never feeling this again it’s another level of comfort that I’m not willing to lose. Matt stroked my face as he spoke his voice was becoming distorted “Namine hearing my name coming from your lips... is dangerous to say the least.” I couldn’t help but smile and blush Cerberus is usually a little more playful but today he’s so serious and sincere “Nice to see you too Cerberus it’s been a while.” I wrap my arms around his waist and give him a tight hug as I let out a heavy sigh as I whisper “Why are you so sweet to me… What if I’m not your mate? I don’t want you to get hurt I mean as dedicated as you are… will you forgive yourself for being so unfaithful in the beginning? Isn’t better to wait for your mate before you confess your fondness and dedication to me?” he let out a whimper “Don’t say such things to me little one. Even if we are not fated mates by the moon goddess, you know as well as I do you are my hearts keeper, I will forever be your protector that’s my destiny not as my wishful mate but as your Beta.” I feel my eyes water I hate when he’s so sweet it makes it harder to push him away his hands slowly move to my waist as he brings me closer, I lean my body against him and feel this urge to hold him as close as I can. He put his head in the nook of my neck and takes a heavy breath kissed my neck “Little one your scent is so alluring I could say it’s intoxicating… but in all honesty I want you to be happy for I am just grateful to know you, my love. Whether we are mated or not doesn’t matter to me you are so lovely just being in your presence is enough for a monster like me.” I pull away and grab his face his pitch-black eyes they were full of longing and sadness it really makes me want to comfort him with every part of me I have but I can’t give in to my desires. I really want to wait for my mate, and both of them respect that.
