Growing Pains part 3

I remember when I first met Cerberus he came out to my aid during a training gone bad. Someone had infiltrated our pack from an enemy pack and tried to kill me during the training exercise. Cerberus didn’t hesitate he didn’t even use his wolf form he used Matt’s body and killed the attacker before anything happened. Cerberus insisted that I go to the infirmary to make sure I get a band aid for my scraped knee mean while I was furious because I was trying to convince him that he needed to go to the infirmary immediately I mean he was the one stabbed by a hunting knife covered in wolfsbane, but he was acting as if it was the other way around, he’s so stubborn sometimes. Cerberus told me the only way he’d get treated was if I was by his side and treating him. I gave in and took him to the infirmary I got to know Cerberus while they treated him since he refused to let Matt take over since he didn’t want to waste any time getting to know me it was one of the few times Matt hasn’t be able to control him I kind of like that about Cerberus though it’s like we have our own secret club for just the two of us. Matt doesn’t always express everything he wants to say while Cerberus is straight forward and doesn’t hold anything back.

I give him a light kiss on the forehead “Cerberus please don’t say that about yourself it makes me cry.” He wiped away my tear and held up my head “Don’t cry little one I can’t see the future but what will be will be just promise me you will be happy with whatever the outcome might be.” He kissed my forehead and gently let me go. I don’t know why this hurts me so much it’s like I want to be with him… but I don’t know if I’m okay with not knowing if he’s my mate what if he’s not and then we have to break up because I can’t reject my mate, they are a gift from the Moon Goddess herself…. But what if he is my mate? I’ve asked Matt and Cerberus if they were my mate and they both told me they can’t say anything. The only one that has that answer is my wolf yet I feel that part of me already belongs to them… Cerberus looked at me with a gentle smile and lightly placed his finger on my forehead “Don’t worry your pretty little head my precious little one soon the answer will come to you and when it does I will be here no matter what.” He gave me a mischievous smile and lifted me off my feet I looked at him surprised “Cerberus!” He chuckled “Sorry little one I couldn’t help it you’re just too cute or maybe I should have tickled you instead?” he put me down with a big grin plastered on his face I looked at him annoyed “Don’t you even think about it!” He looked at me lovingly “I’d love to stay with you forever little one but if I stay any longer my mental block on Matt won’t work and I love keeping my meetings with you private. I hate eavesdroppers.” I nod “I understand.” Cerberus with a sly smile leaned close to me and whispered in my ear “I love you little one till we meet again.” I blushed as he took a few steps back and Matt’s eyes when from black to gray. Matt looked at me confused for a second “When’d you get over there...? Oh s**t! Gamma Justin just got linked by the border patrol and told me our dad’s cars are in the territory they should be here any minute.” I don’t know why but there’s something different about Matt and Cerberus or maybe it’s me barely noticing their affection for me? I’m starting to admire Matt’s body more and more as the day goes on he’s suddenly gotten taller he’s about 6’0 and he’s only seventeen which is amazing to me and his wolf came way earlier than expected they think it’s because of Matt’s pureblood line his family history is full of Alpha and Betas but there’s also a rumor amongst the adults that it was me being attacked is what triggered his wolf to come sooner based on his pure instinct of protecting me his potential alpha...or his potential mate? I feel something in my chest when Matt gets close to me. Looking at him is like looking at art in a museum right now I just can’t help myself is it because of Cerberus sweet talk from earlier? Its weird how growing up with someone doesn’t make you notice them till their suddenly good looking and making you feel all awkward and weird. My favorite part of Matt has always been his smile his dimples just make my stomach do backflips. I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed him this way before maybe he is my mate… “Nami? Earth to Nami?” I look and see Matt waving his hand in my face I blushed as I nervously look away “S-So-Sorry what were we talking about?” Matt smirks as he gently grabbed my hand and I felt a small tingling sensation as he says “Nami our dads are here let’s go before it’s too late to greet them at the door.” I grab my hand back confused, and Matt looks at me concerned and worried “What’s wrong? Did I grab your hand too hard? I’m sorry I’m still working on controlling my strength shouldn’t ha-” I put my hand over his mouth as I shook my head “Relax it’s nothing I was just spacing out again. Come on.” I smiled at Matt and we quickly walked downstairs and just in time my dad and Beta Xavier come thru the door. Matt and I couldn’t help ourselves from rushing over to our parents and hug/tackled them to the ground the pack in unison shouted with joy “Welcome home” our parents look at each other as they laughed and smiled at us. My dad gave me a big smile as he looked down at me his hands squished my face “Why do you look so big I could have sworn you were shorter?” I look at him with pride “I grew two inches while you were away so now, I’m 5’4 it was a pretty big deal the pack doctor still thinks there’s a chance I’ll be as tall as you.” My dad looked at me skeptical “You know Lily’s just pulling your leg, right?” I scowl at him “What’s that supposed to mean? Is that like an old person thing?” my dad pretended to be hurt “Ouch kid that hurt.” He laughed and put his arm around my shoulders as we made our way to the backyard “First off I ain’t old I’m barely thirty-five. Second it means Lily’s just messing with you cause I’d bet the tallest you’ll be is 5’6 like your mom” I was about to say something when Matt comes over with his parents flashing his gorgeous dimples “Welcome back Alpha today chef Davis prepared a buffet style meal of your personal favorites and some of my parents favorite desserts and not to rush you but if you still want some of the cheese sticks you might want to go now you know how much of a glutton my uncle is.” My dad smiled as he looked over at Gamma Justin shoving the cheese sticks and marinara sauce down his throat while Gamma Mary just looks at Justin with love as she laughed hysterically at his gluttonous charm “Yeah you’re right about that Matt. Xavier, Rose let’s get some food before that twin of yours eats it all and blames you again.” Beta Xavier looks over at Gamma Justin and puts his hand to his face clearly being slightly annoyed by his brother’s love of cheese sticks. Beta Rose just put her hand on Xavier’s shoulder and looked over at Gamma Justin with a smile as she shouted, “Justin, you’d better save me one this time!” Gamma Justin smiled mouth full of cheese sticks and gave her a thumbs up. My dad goes with Matt’s parents towards the buffet table I look at them with pride the party is officially a success in my eyes our parents needed a break their business trip must have been stressful it’s nice to see them relax and hanging out with the pack. Out of nowhere Matt gently pulls me to the side he looked nervous for some reason “I-I think your dad likes the surprise” I look over at my dad with his friends “Yeah he does. Thanks for helping me with all this Matt I couldn’t have done it without you.”
