Matt’s POV
Namine is looking at her dad in admiration and I take a deep breath to calm my nerves before I walk over to her. Cerberus growls “Don’t mess this up Matt be confident! My little one- !” “Shut it Cerberus I know what I’m doing!” I walk over to Namine and stumbled I feel my cheeks get red I hope she didn’t see that “i***t!” Cerberus mumbles I pretend to cough as I ignore Cerberus and pull Namine to the side “I-I think your dad likes the surprise” I look at her while I’m trying to think of a better conversation luckily, she’s too busy looking over at our parents for her to notice my stumbling she sweetly replied “Yeah he does. Thanks for helping me with all this Matt I couldn’t have done it without you.” I smile at her “You know since I helped you out this time I was wondering if you’d return the favor?” Namine looks at me skeptically as she’s thinking about her answer
Cerberus sighs “i***t just ask her to dance why are you making it complicated” “I can’t just ask her she’ll say no.” “i***t she likes us.” “So if she likes us that means she’ll say yes to my question now shut up before you blow it by no letting me handle this.” Cerberus just mocks me and mumbles “You’re already ruining my progress by being an idiot.” I mumble “Asshole.” Namine looks at me confused “Are you calling me an asshole Matt?” I instantly shook my head “Sorry I was talking to Cerberus he can be a d**k sometimes.” She laughs “Hey cut him some slack he’s just a little rough around the edges is all.” I scoff “So what you’re say is you admit that he’s a d**k but it’s okay cause he’s not a d**k to you.” She smiled at me “Yeah that’s about right.” I was admiring her cute laugh and then Cerberus cuts in and whispers at me “Ask her to dance or should I take over and show you how to properly woo our companion?” I clear my throat and grab Namine’s hand “So what do you say? Do you think you can help me out?” She looked at me surprised as her cheeks turned a new shade of red “S-sure what’s the favor? It’d better not be anything weird!” I laughed a little “It’s nothing crazy just dance with me.” She looked at me wide eyed as her face turned pale and replied “I-I-I don’t know how to dance and last time I checked neither did you!” I grabbed her hand lead her to the dance floor and slowly guided her to a free spin and then I gently grabbed her hand to go into an open turn she looked at me surprised “Matt when did you even find the time to learn to dance?” I gave her a proud smile as I waltz with her “I saw you looking at my parents during the Moon festival a few months ago and thought maybe you wanted someone to ask you. So I asked my parents to teach me so that I could dance with you.” She hid her face in my chest trying to hide her smile I love it when she does that it makes my heart race having her this close to me, I should have learned to dance sooner. “Why are you always going out of your way for me Matt you don’t even know if I’m-” I instinctively held Namine closer to me and the look of worry in her beautiful blue eyes made me want to bring her calm “I don’t go out of my way for you Nami . I just want to show you that I love-“ I stop I oddly smelled smoke then a loud BOOM erupted I held Namine tightly against me. We both turn to look around to see from where the explosion came from I instantly put Namine behind me as I smelled blood her dad mind linked the warriors and then shouted my name “Matt where’s Namine? “She’s here with alpha she’s safe” “Order her to the shelter drag her there ONLY if you have to! Namine knows she’s in charge of making sure all the women, children, and elderly are counted for. Then meet with your father in the meadow by the lake he will give you further instructions don’t let your guard down.” “Yes Alpha.” We cut the mind link I looked at Namine with urgency “Nami go to the shelter and make sure everyone is counted for. Alpha’s orders not mine.” She scoffed and grabbed my hand “Matt I’m not letting you go alone I can fight with you!” I grabbed her face and let out a low growl “Namine I know you want to fight but you are needed at the shelter please go willingly or I’ll lock you in there myself.” She looked at me in disbelief that I spoke to her so harshly “Fine I’ll go but if you’re not back in ten minutes I’m going.” I nod my head and let her go as run towards the clouds of smoke. Cerberus growled “i***t! You know she won’t go to the shelter she’s a warrior! We should have dragged her to safety you moron!” “I trust her Cerberus and the sooner we kill the threat to sooner she’s safe so hurry up and let me shift!” I finally shifted into my wolf form and ran as quick as I could to meet with my dad. I couldn’t help notice the closer I get to the fires the stronger the smell of blood and vampires gets “Cerberus you smell-!” “Of course I smell it i***t! We let out a low growl out of frustration “f**k!”
