Namine POV

Running to the pack shelter, I could smell a faint smell of vampires, and I couldn’t make out where are they hiding. I’m wondering if a witch is helping conceal them. They must be a group acting out on their own there’s no way they would get approval from the Elders to attack us. This ambush seems a little too much of a coincidence though. How did they know our defenses would be down the fires look like they are around the meadow near the lake? s**t! Our maternity clinic is close by there I wonder if the pregnant women made it to the shelter, okay? f**k I gotta go check it out what if Pain is there! I’m running as fast as my feet can carry me. I’m telling everyone I pass to go to the shelter and that I would be there shortly to do a head count. I saw Matt’s pure white wolf sweeping the area it’s kinda hard to miss since he’s the biggest wolf. I’m running towards the lake hoping Matt hadn’t spotted me yet I kept going and I suddenly I was grabbed by my waist and pulling into an embrace that made my body shiver I turn around and see Matt his eyes going from gray to black ”Matt!” He’s pissed “Namine go to the shelter now or I’ll carry you there.” He could hear him holding back his growl “I need to check to make sure everyone got out of the maternity-“he looked at me skeptically “Nami..! Your job was to make sure everyone is okay!” “But I-” “No! I should have just dragged you to the shelter like Cerberus wanted.” I was about to plead with Matt to help me but he leaned closer to my ear and whispered “Vampires have invaded the pack I’m pretty sure you could smell them but, possible assistance from an amateur witch or rogues. Don’t say anything we don’t want to cause fear amongst the pack members. If I see Pain out there I’ll try my best to keep her safe.” He let me go as he ran off and he didn’t look back. I kind of felt conflicted but snapped back to reality when I heard some of the pack members howls “Someone’s hurt!” feeling the blood drain from my face and sensation of adrenaline coursing in my veins. Instincts taking over as I rush to the shelter I heard my father’s thundering howl echo. I got to the shelter and saw Gamma Justin helping some of the elderly get inside “Namine!“ “Sorry I was on my way and thought I’d go to the Maternit-” “Namine you were supposed to be here to head count the pack and help me give first aid to injured pack members! You can’t just run off ignoring orders you have to think of what’s best for the pack! You’re lucky I was here what if something happened to the pack! I look at him confused “I-I-” “No you went on impulse and let’s say you did find an injured pack member how would you defend yourself without putting them at risk you don’t know how many enemies are out there or what they are capable of! Now go help Mary with the wounded I’m doing head count!” I went over to Mary two of our guards were badly burned and we had a few woman and children with second degree burns from the fire fortunately Mary is our best healer and just needed me to stabilize everyone so she could heal them. After a few hours she was worn out and luckily the worst was over Gamma Justin walked in and kiss Mary on the forehead “How are you holding up love?” she smiled at him “I’ll be fine just needed a break. Luckily Namine came in time to help she did great with putting the herbal medications and wrapping the wounds they should be find for the most part. I will be recommending to the Alpha to let the guards get some physical therapy as well as mental because before Namine gave them a sedative they were mumbling about seeing demons of some kind in the flames” They looked over at me “Namine take a break.” I nod I walked towards the entrance and saw everyone coming towards me “Please call Gamma Justin someone’s trying to get inside!” I rush towards Gamma Justin and Mary “Guys we have trouble the intruders are at the entrance of the shelter!” Gamma Justin looked at me and he turned into his wolf form he ran past me I looked at Mary and she yelled “Go! I’ll take care of the others and be careful!” I followed behind Gamma Justin and got my bag with my throwing knifes. Gamma Justin was by the entrance I yelled at everyone to stay back as I got into my defensive pose. I looked at Gamma Justin’s wolf a redish brown wolf with a patch of white on his chest he looked at me and nodded. I opened the door and went out after Gamma Justin making sure we secured the door and that’s when I saw the bastards I growled to let my father and the pack warriors I found the intruders. Gamma Justin and I sprinted after them to make sure we didn’t lose them I counted five vampires luckily by the time, I caught up to them we had the bastards surrounded.
