The REMNANT
The twelve year old headed to school a little earlier than usual.
She still had a lot of ideas in her head as to the plot twist. With her four younger brothers throwing tantrums in their rugged shack, Lina was sure that she wouldn't be able to complete her novel.
She had been living with her parents and siblings in the same hut for the past many years ts in the Gaza strip of Palastine. They, like the majority of their mates were hopeful that a new dawn awaited them; one filled with freedom, peace and happiness. Lina wanted to play her part in bringing forth this dawn. Being a well recognized and appreciated storyteller among her friends at school, she thought to herself: "what better way than penning a book that would definitely turn out to become a bestseller! This way, i'd be able to bring my nation to headlines and then everyone will listen to what i have to say about the all the injustices done to my motherland... "
Reaching school, which was run in a dilapidated building, she settled in one of the last rows and started pouring her plot out into papers. It wasn't long before she was joined by her classmates and along came her teacher. Soon enough, the day's class began.
Before anyone had time to register anything, there came a deafening "bbboom" and Lina felt the walls and ground tremble. The roof was falling down and the last thing she remembered was to clutch her back tight to her chest.
The untitled book caught in the debris still yearns to speak of a mission yet to attain...
