Chapter 10
Evelyn doesn’t reply and when I go to school the next day I can’t find her. The ntch thing has gone crazy and everyone is talking about it and being surprised or at least pretending they’re surprised, as is the case with a lot of the boys. Someone has found out that the girl that spurned the programmer is a Year 12 and that basically sends everyone into meltdown. Special assemblies are called and girls rush into counselling as though it might undo the past. No one is talking about what was actually on the app, merely what they fear might have been there and that’s bad enough.
Amidst all that white noise, I overhear one of the kids in the locker bay complaining about how his whole timetable has changed because they folded Mr Swann’s Specialist Mathematics class into Ms Yeoh’s.
