TW: Discussion of abuse/trauma ...Raine... Tears run like endless rivers over my puffed red cheeks. My body shivers, my lip trembling, but my eyes fix on one spot, never moving despite the bustling around me. There's nothing special about the spot I picked; it only serves as a focus while my body drowns out the pain ricocheting inside me.  "Has she said anything?" The words float over me but don't register.  "Nothing. I told her about the accident over an hour ago. She has been like this the whole time." I blink again, rhythmically, focusing on anything but the truth.  The accident. My parents. I draw in a shaky breath and hold it in my chest. My brow twitches and crinkles, remembering the message relayed to me; Your parents are gone.  Gone. Dead.  And with that, my breath releases
