"Let me out of here!" She screams with such ferocity it silences me. In my stunned silence, she takes to opportunity to run for the door. Realising her attempt to flee, I run after her, reaching her just as she manages to open the door and slam it shut with my hand above her head.
She turns, her eyes brimming with tears, and pushes hard on my chest. I remain unmoved, my weight leaning forward in my desperate attempt to stop her from leaving. When I don't move, she hits me with balled fists, sobbing out incoherent protests.
