Chapter 6 Before I could walk away from Moira, she grabbed my hand and brought me to a stop. “Something has changed, hasn’t it?” she asked. Sometimes Moira was uncanny. I hadn’t said a word to her, but she seemed to know there was more going on than my rushing off with the detective. I looked around to make sure no one would overhear me, and then I leaned close to her to speak in a low voice. “He’s alive, Moira. I heard him. Tommy’s frightened, but alive.” “Mac, let’s go!” Before she could ask me questions, we heard Detective Byrd yelling for me. Releasing my hand, Moira told me to go.
