Chapter 27
It was a good thing we split up. The address for the two ads were on opposite sides of town. I didn’t hesitate and told Peter we would take the address close to the beach. Something was pulling me back to the beach, and Sunshine offered no resistance to my call. I gave Peter a quick kiss, promising once again to be careful and keep in touch. He gave me a long look before getting into his car. With a wave, I watched him drive off and waited for Sunshine to pull her car around from the garage at the back of the house. The sporty yellow mustang surprised me. She had always driven a dull white sedan; the bright color and noise as she revved the engine were certainly out of character.
